In 2017-2018 BAT acquired Reynolds and issue shares and debt for the acquisition. BAT has been buying back shares ever since except this year as BAT plans to pay down debt more aggressively

MO facing two major problem which it has still no solution for.The first one is the regulations tightening their revenue and the decrease of smoking. The second one is that they failed to go into transition to smoke free product.
BTI also facing the same two problem but it has already found the way. They went to new markets (south America, India etc.) and they effectively went to smoke free market and taking this growing market.
All in all Bti will buy back shares, pay down the debt rapidly, increase its revenue and EBITDA plus fcf every year from now.
I add Bti when get enough cash in my hand 😊.

Keep in mind that BTI has 30% stake in India ITC worth $20 billions. the BTI market cap is about $66 billions. The current valuation of BTI shares does NOT take that 30% ITC stake into consideration so BTI share price looks undervalued significantly. I have $BTI but no $MO

    Bought BTI yesterday.
Seems really safe investment with Enterprise value twice of market cap. PB ratio at 0.7. P/FCF ratio at 5. FCF Yield at 20%. With Revenue and net income actually increasing during last 10 years with no negative net income year.
Just seems really cheap company for how stable the financials are. Especially FCF yield being at 20% compared to US treasury yield at 5%.

Very overweight $BTI and will be exiting $MO entirely before ex-date. $BTI is highly underpriced. It has a very safe payout ratio and excellent geographic diversification with more growth opportunity in combustibles. It's not even close. The dividend growth folks don't understand currency exchange and the extreme difference in management quality.
