Replace Side View Mirror Glass on a Honda or Acura EASY! 2019 Acura MDX

In this video, I show you how to replace just the Mirror piece on a 2019 Acura MDX. The procedure should be the same for most Honda’s and Acura’s around the same year.
My friend backed into something and cracked it, but did not want to replace the whole housing assembly. The glass was cheap from the dealership and easy to replace!
All you’ll need is a plastic trim tool or equivalent and some alcohol to clean the adhesive surface. Make sure to wear safety glasses while doing this and take your time! Slow and steady wins the race.

Alexander G Rodriguez I cant remember off the top of my head how I did it before. I don’t think you have to take the mirror off though! You could probably just take the whole mirror off

But I can close it and open it back and fw but if I take it to a car wash I’m thinking it will pop off that’s how shaky a lil and you hear a cracking sound closing it and opening it sorry folding it and un-folding it back

How hard did you push??? Can't figure out how to snap back the bottom clips (when putting the new glass)... I applied pressure as shown but no dice =(( Maybe I need to go to the gym...

Haha you have to put a decent amount of force on it forsure. Just make sure you spread it evenly and you don’t have to worry about any cracking! It took me a few tries as well as I was scared to put too much pressure

From my memory I wrapped my fingers around the back housing and used my palms to push in

Thanks for the quick reply! Still trying but having no luck. When I push the glass, I think the white part also moves/flexes with the glass. So the clips have nothing to push against and snap into place...

Update:
Managed to get the mirrors on.
What helped was getting a copy of the service manual. For reinstall, it says to _"carefully push on the _*_clip areas_*_ of the mirror holder until the mirror holder locks into place"_
So the official way to put back the mirror is to push. Knowing this made me less nervous about applying pressure. I'm weak physically, so for me this was "pushing a fridge (but carefully)" amount of pressure. Also knowing where to focus the pressure was very helpful.

It's been a while, but I remember having to use more force (but gently) than I was comfortable with. And the force was applied on the clip locations.

^Yep! Just apply more force but do it evenly so you don’t hurt yourself haha. Wear gloves worse case
