    Thanks for this instruction. I followed your instructions to a tee, and it made short work of my mirror replacement. Awesome!

    Well explained! Thanks! It helped a lot and worked well for me. The only complication I had to start with was a damaged black part of the shell when reversing. I bought the whole shell that comes in three pieces and used only the black piece that fits before the mirror using a regular and a $3 ratcheting screw driver.
    The palming and cleaning using isopropyl alcohol are essential steps to affixing the mirror glass replacement. The palming helps clip the bottom hooks to the backing.
    Thank you so much and to mike hale acura of utah who provided part number guidance. My local dealer wanted to replace the whole mirror unit for$1000. DIY cost me $150.

    How hard did you push??? Can't figure out how to snap back the bottom clips (when putting the new glass)... I applied pressure as shown but no dice =(( Maybe I need to go to the gym...

      @tunerworld  4 года назад +1

      Haha you have to put a decent amount of force on it forsure. Just make sure you spread it evenly and you don’t have to worry about any cracking! It took me a few tries as well as I was scared to put too much pressure

      From my memory I wrapped my fingers around the back housing and used my palms to push in

      Thanks for the quick reply! Still trying but having no luck. When I push the glass, I think the white part also moves/flexes with the glass. So the clips have nothing to push against and snap into place...

      What is decent amount of pressure? Is it like pushing a car out of a ditch amount?

      Update:
      Managed to get the mirrors on.
      What helped was getting a copy of the service manual. For reinstall, it says to _"carefully push on the _*_clip areas_*_ of the mirror holder until the mirror holder locks into place"_
      So the official way to put back the mirror is to push. Knowing this made me less nervous about applying pressure. I'm weak physically, so for me this was "pushing a fridge (but carefully)" amount of pressure. Also knowing where to focus the pressure was very helpful.

    I am looking to replace my puddle lights since both of them have dimmed. Anyone have any insight on how to do that? Maybe a video? Thanks.

      Alexander G Rodriguez I cant remember off the top of my head how I did it before. I don’t think you have to take the mirror off though! You could probably just take the whole mirror off

      It's been a while, but I remember having to use more force (but gently) than I was comfortable with. And the force was applied on the clip locations.
      Good luck!

    • @tunerworld
      @tunerworld  3 года назад +1

      ^Yep! Just apply more force but do it evenly so you don’t hurt yourself haha. Wear gloves worse case

    But I can close it and open it back and fw but if I take it to a car wash I’m thinking it will pop off that’s how shaky a lil and you hear a cracking sound closing it and opening it sorry folding it and un-folding it back
