What are you smoking, it's technically not a first year model year SMH. Allison transmission has been out since 2020 for the Duramax and it's the same transmission on the 6.6 gas starting 2024. The engine 6.6 gas also has been out since 2020 so what is this first model year that you are speaking off?

It will come off with the filter on.. the trick is to remove the GASKET first then turn the pan to remove it.

Thanks for the tip. First time in the snow. Drove to Lake Arrowhead & it was not snowing now we are trying to get back with No chains. Have the All wheel drive & from what I read should be fine since its not heavy. This extra tip gives us extra peace of mind.

I am in Buffalo, so your video helped me alot. Prior to adjust the settings, it was sliding everywhere. It still slides a bit however with your settings in parking lots I noticed. Anymore tips?

1 Year UPDATE: 25,000 miles on it now, original tires, empty bed, and it is still amazing in the snow :)

UPDATE: Driver Side Battery came faulty from the factory. Replaced under warranty, and truck starts EVERYTIME this winter :) 25,000 miles now. Remote start works flawless too. If you are having issues similar to mine, be sure to get both batteries tested and replaced as necessary

I will say this the l5P Duramax has no cold starting issues i left mine outside in a blizzard with wind chill values of -40 and it fired right up wasn’t happy about it for a few mins engaged the high idle and warmed up fairly quickly
