I just made a Spanish Embassy with Torres 10 brandy, Dos Maderas 5+5 rum, Magdala Spanish orange liquor, Angostora Bitters, and Lime juice. It's insanely good.
Coincidentally I just bought a bottle of Pierre Ferrand Limited Edition Yuzu Curacao and have no idea what to do with it.... these two cocktails have given me some inspiration. THANK You Anders. You are the best!
You two are so cute! I was introduced to cocktail making as a real thing from a parent of a student I had; and now, being retired, I've discovered that it's quite the fun hobby--especially with RUclips channels like yours. Thank you for your recipes and fun videos!
As always great video Anders. Your passion for your craft is definitely contagious. And of course always nice to see lovely Az make an appearance and give her 2nd opinion. P.S. for being somewhat impartial to garnishes you make them look real good. Lemon coil is the best.
Cheers, Anders (and Azusa). Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos each week. They're so polished and professional, and they offer great storytelling, clever and entertaining merchandizing, and practical cocktail-making tips. As always, your wonderful personalities shine through. Bravo!
Just made The Embassy for the first time. A very nice sipper and especially enjoyed on this hot day. (102 in San Antonio, TX today.) Thanks for introducing me to the cocktail. Cheers!
As someone who hangs their laundry outside, I have to say I love the tiny clothespin on the Between the Sheets garnish! Speaking of sheets, they smell wonderful when air dried outside on a sunny day. Nerd on, Anders!
I meant to tell you after your last video, I finally made an order on Curiada through your collection after searching liquor stores tirelessly and finally got my hands on a bottle of Coruba! As well as Doctor Bird and Rum Fire. All fantastic additions to my collection. Will definitely order again as I haven't been able to find any subs for Coruba except Myer's and that just will not do 😂
I can look up a recipe, I watch these videos to hear you nerding out about the drinks. I have all the ingredients for the Embassy Cocktail, so I'm gonna try it tonight
Just made both of the cocktails and both are delicious. Between the sheets, definitely tastes like a sidecar, very subtle differences… However, I think the embassy cocktail tastes quite different. It’s almost in the tiki realm with the Jamaican rum and the bitters. Will be making them again!
Hi Ander's ... Long time watcher, first time commenter...Love your videos! I tried making both the Between the Sheets and Embassy side by side to perform your taste test. For the between the Sheets I used Pierre Ferrand 1840, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao and Bacardi white rum (that's the only white rum I had on hand). For the Embassy I used Pierre Ferrand 1840, Appleton Estate Signature Blend Jamaican Rum and Marie Brizard Orange Curaçao. Before tasing I told my wife that Az preferred the Embassy and she is always seems to be correct. True to her record, Az was right again! Both my wife and I felt the Embassy was the better drink. Not that the Between the Sheets was bad, but given the choice we both felt the Embassy was hands down better. Keep up the GREAT work!
Anders, sharing your nerd logic is really helpful as i ponder how I would personalize the specs to my palate. Thanks for sharing. Also, sharing two similar cocktails and the logic to the build for each is really helpful. Hope to see more in this format going forward. Well done.
Between the Sheets is one of my favourite cocktails.. will have to try the Embassy. Thanks Also, would you ever do a video about preparing different garnishes?
I would love another mocktail video!! I don't drink, but I really enjoy all your videos. So I'd love to be able to make the stuff you create, as I have no idea what I'm doing with drinks!! Lol
I keep telling myself I'm not going to get into rum because there is soooo much out there and I have no room on my wee bar shelf (plus any rum would encourage me to go into tiki territory, and I call my home bar Sneaky Pete's Non-Tiki Speakeasy), and here you go tempting me with two very interesting cocktails. What am I going to do!
Get: - Appleton estates blended - Smith and Cross - Wray and Nephew - Demerara rum (Hamilton 37, El Dorado, Myers’s, Goslings) These four bottles will be just about all you need for like 90 percent of tiki drinks
Of course we'll all have our preferences, but I appreciate how you explain why certain components work in a cocktail, so I know (in this case) that if I want a lighter drink, it'll be Between the Sheets and, if I want to go more complex, The Embassy! Honestly, it'll have to be The Embassy because I don't have any light rum... but I know where to start!
i really really really appreciate you taking the time to explain the thinking and rationale behind using this or that orange liqueur. it really helps me understand what makes each cocktail different and tasty, and why.
I had everything at home for an embassy cocktail except my only curacao is blue - I made it anyway. The color was ... off-putting LOL but I closed my eyes and drank it - tasted great.
I just had a Between the Sheets last night....what a coincidence. Very lovely cocktail that removes the often needed sugar rim for the Sidecar with the rum!
I like your videos, because you are authentic! You don‘t just read a script from beginning to end. You really talk, have thinking pauses. And that is why your style is so good to watch. You are natural, just like a best friend talking about his favourite stuff! You are not of the many „bots“ out there, you are a real deal. Also that the camera is just steady on you while talking. No shaking, no „modern style“ (a.k.a. Getting sea sick). Just a good friend who talks to me about the things he loves❤ I personally do. Ot like cocktails, maybe I drink 1 in 5 years, but yi like the stories you tell and how you prepare them That‘s how good you are! 😮 Making an complete non-cocktail-liker watching bartending stuff 🎉
I'm not the biggest cognac fan, so I'm tempted to replace it and use either bourbon or rye in the between the sheets and tequila in the embassy cocktail.
I enjoy the history, the banter and of course Az’s input😂. Made both. Didn’t have Marie brizard orange curaçao so I subbed Cointreau. Enjoyed both drinks but leaning towards the Between the sheets! Cheers!
Is there any way Anders can just ship us these cocktails? He's a total master. It's the difference between watching an acclaimed classical musician and me banging away on a baby piano.
Love a good sidecar, but this riff is more my speed. The combo of rum and cognac is to die for, even in places it probably shouldn’t be like a mai tai (yes I did that, it was a very good night as a result) Also thank you for turning me on to maison rouge. I’d never used it before you suggested it and it’s loads better (IMHO) than the Pierre Ferrand I used to reach for.
These are my favorite videos that you make! Comparing historical (?) cocktails that are similar or virtually the same but different 😅 I love that you do the research and tell us about the history behind them. Thank you Anders 😊and I even liked your sponsor insert…was so fun. PS…these are excellent cocktails!!
If you swap the rum for gin in the Between the Sheets, you get a Maiden's Prayer, which I am a big fan of. I like it with Citadelle Jardin d’Été especially.
A great video Anders, not a lot of history, but you make good points for both! and beautifully presented so thank you!!! Have a great weekend and as always “CHEERS!”🍹🍹❤️❤️😁😁
I was all set to make an Embassy, started to put it together…and realized I had no lime, only lemon. So I guess I made an Embassy Sheets? 😂 It was still tasty!
Between the Sheets seems like a great template to experiment with mixing and matching rums and cognacs. Any suggestions or guidelines there? Great video as always.
I'll be the first to say I love when we get an Oz cameo in any video... but, somehow I was expecting Freya to give her thoughts and am left empty. Great video as always, see you next week ❤
Anders! First-I've been a huge fan of your channel since I found the Naked & Famous video; your tips and recipes have given me tons of "cred" hosting cocktail nights and I'm happy you've blown up, well deserved! Second, writing this because I literally just got back from liquor store with PF Cognac and Appleton Estate (never would've thought to mix them) so I must toast an Embassy Cocktail! Cheers!
Great video, as always. I love the drinks, and am equally fascinated by the history of the cocktails. You recommend the book, "And a Bottle of Rum", on a previous show (thank you so much, such an entertaining read). Do you have any other entertaining sources on the chronicles of cocktails?
I think there is a book to be written about these families of cocktails and how variations work. How to drink does good videos where he shows the recipe for classic cocktail, talks about the rules and how it mixes measure of sweetness, tartness, and booze and then uses substitutions to create new versions.
Now make a combo of these two cocktails, incorporating all the ingredients you have shown….of course, adjust the quantity of each ingredient to fit in the cocktail glass…or just use a large wine goblet.
One or both of these will be made tonight since I need not go to the store. However, I did add the Marie Brassard to my shopping list so I can do a proper comparison. Cheers!

I see an Anders video. I click.
Thanks for being here! Cheers
Compulsive, Pavlovian. I get it. It’s always great.
As do i... but then, i click again, immediately, clicking the Like button :D #ForTheAlgorithym
I believe that the Between the Sheets should be followed by a glass of Penicillin. You know, just to be safe. Cheers!
I have made Between the sheets, but I've never heard of Embassy. Today I learned something new, and for that i thank you 😁
Cheers
I just made a Spanish Embassy with Torres 10 brandy, Dos Maderas 5+5 rum, Magdala Spanish orange liquor, Angostora Bitters, and Lime juice. It's insanely good.
Between the sheets; what a big…….lime wheel you have there, Anders.
I am starting to second guess all bar lines from my youth.
These both sound like a great way to switch things up for summer Margarita season
Coincidentally I just bought a bottle of Pierre Ferrand Limited Edition Yuzu Curacao and have no idea what to do with it.... these two cocktails have given me some inspiration. THANK You Anders. You are the best!

More to add to the book!
Appreciate the cocktail nerdery and the silliness of a lime slap!
As always great video Anders. Your passion for your craft is definitely contagious. And of course always nice to see lovely Az make an appearance and give her 2nd opinion.
P.S. for being somewhat impartial to garnishes you make them look real good. Lemon coil is the best.
Thank you so much. Cheers
Thanks for you video. It inspired me a home rift... 50% grand marnier, 25% appleton signature rum, 25% lemon juice on crushed ice... 😊
Cheers, Anders (and Azusa). Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos each week. They're so polished and professional, and they offer great storytelling, clever and entertaining merchandizing, and practical cocktail-making tips. As always, your wonderful personalities shine through. Bravo!

You get it
Always appreciate a new recipe and i have all the ingredients for the Embassey cheers Anders🥃
Happy weekend. Cheers
Been looking to branch into brandy cocktails, time to go out and grab a bottle! Cheers Anders!
Won't regret it. Cheers and happy mixing!

Love it - happy you're able to get the bottles you need. Cheers!
I always tag your name on to whatever cocktail I'm trying to Google. Love your channel!

Between the Sheets looks like a nice poolside drink, where the Embassy Cocktail looks like it would be more of something to sip in the evening

Happy the nerd logic landed. Cheers
Between the Sheets is one of my favourite cocktails.. will have to try the Embassy. Thanks
Also, would you ever do a video about preparing different garnishes?
There's something about a coupe glass that makes me think whatever's inside is a super classy cocktail
I would love another mocktail video!! I don't drink, but I really enjoy all your videos. So I'd love to be able to make the stuff you create, as I have no idea what I'm doing with drinks!! Lol

Love anders! Great content and love the history behind the cocktails

Will try that embassy! Another great video!
Cheers from Belgium 🇧🇪
Awesome! Thought I would like The Embassy better, but liked Between TS. Go figure! That's why they mix the 'tails!
I had everything at home for an embassy cocktail except my only curacao is blue - I made it anyway. The color was ... off-putting LOL but I closed my eyes and drank it - tasted great.
Anders Erickson, Your videos always brighten my day, so I subscribed!
Happy to hear it, and thank you so much! Cheers
I just had a Between the Sheets last night....what a coincidence. Very lovely cocktail that removes the often needed sugar rim for the Sidecar with the rum!
You know what's better than one cocktail? Two cocktails!
You throw that information as fast as you want! I've got a pause button and playback speed control on my end.
Freya is so adorable. Love her!
I wanna hang out with Anders and Oz.
Can't wait to try the betwixt the embassies...
What better way than to serve The Embassy in an Embassy coupe. 😁
Great video, Anders. I appreciate all of the infos behind the cocktails. 💛
Oh fabulous day, I have the ingredients to make both!!

I love The Embassy, but I've never tried a between the sheets. I'll have to give that one a go
I'm not the biggest cognac fan, so I'm tempted to replace it and use either bourbon or rye in the between the sheets and tequila in the embassy cocktail.
I remember asking for it a few months ago and you did say you’ll put it on your list , you are the best! (Even if you don’t remember 😂😂)
The never ending list. Glad we got to it!
These were great. I’d love to see you take on a similar one: the Alabazam!
Oooh, these both sound delicious 🍸😋👍
I enjoy the history, the banter and of course Az’s input😂. Made both. Didn’t have Marie brizard orange curaçao so I subbed Cointreau. Enjoyed both drinks but leaning towards the Between the sheets! Cheers!

Thanks for the cocktails and garnish notes as well as the always interesting history Anders! Love that "1920s" font Az!
Hooray for rum cocktails! And hooray that Az is back! I might make these after my gig tonight! Thanks y’all!
There are only a couple of channels whose videos I eagerly await and yours is one of them! Very enjoyable video.
Embassy is nice!!! I'm thinking at least 1oz of Rum so it is a weeeee bit forward.
Excellent! Nerding out on cocktails! Slap sound effects! The two of you, and Freya! Why I’m here. 😊
Oh boy, wonderful job!
The Common Denominator sounds like a cocktail name lol. I'm not googling it to find out though
TO THE BAR!➡️🥃
Love a good sidecar, but this riff is more my speed. The combo of rum and cognac is to die for, even in places it probably shouldn’t be like a mai tai (yes I did that, it was a very good night as a result)

A great video Anders, not a lot of history, but you make good points for both! and beautifully presented so thank you!!! Have a great weekend and as always “CHEERS!”🍹🍹❤️❤️😁😁
Appreciate that. Cheers!
I was all set to make an Embassy, started to put it together…and realized I had no lime, only lemon. So I guess I made an Embassy Sheets? 😂 It was still tasty!
Always appreciate your videos Anders, thanks for helping a beer rube expand his horizons!
Between the Sheets seems like a great template to experiment with mixing and matching rums and cognacs. Any suggestions or guidelines there? Great video as always.
Really love your approach to balancing flavors
I love the comically large lime wheel garnish!

Ooo these look good !
Thinking of recording your "three quarters of an oz" to use as ringtone 😂 cheers!🥃🍸
Anders you need to make a video on how you make your fresh lime juice and lemon juice please please please
Thanks again for another great cocktail video. Oz is the best part and you're right it is her show. lol
Thank you for saving me from having to look up which video featured the embassy club
Oooh we are back to the Sliiiiiiide! 😆
Haha good eye
This one sounds amazing!! Gotta try both of them!
love your show
Putting doggo in the ad break was great. ❤
They are very different but similar!! Haha
“Same same but different”.
Name that movie

I always ignore your videos on my feed and regret for it after a week because I realise I really need the knowledge 😅
It's Anders!
Now make a combo of these two cocktails, incorporating all the ingredients you have shown….of course, adjust the quantity of each ingredient to fit in the cocktail glass…or just use a large wine goblet.
OK, ordered the Cook Unity 6 meals, will let you know how it works out
best variation of the BTS is with Benedectine instead of rum ;)
"I went to the bar for a cocktail, but every time I took a sip I was beaten up by the garnish."
great video! Embassy seems like a tiki cocktail before tiki was a thing.
Also a nerd: looking up between the sheets in The Savoy Cocktail Book to compare.
I love a White Lady cocktail
Logo: I knew that the nose and mouth was also a glass, but I just realized the bear itself is also a hawthorne strainer.
Mo Az, mo betta. :)
Is there a vanilla drink?? Or drink that uses vanilla?? And IF so can you make a video about it??
One or both of these will be made tonight since I need not go to the store. However, I did add the Marie Brassard to my shopping list so I can do a proper comparison.
Cheers!
Love it. Happy weekend
Hi Anders! How about having a q&a?
