“We didn’t have a lot of money, but we had more money than eating frogs out of the creek” may be one of the best Dusty quotes ever. Goodness, this made me laugh out loud. 😂
He's my favorite comedian but his theories about space is fake and the earth is flat, while not knowing basic things like the names of atomic bombs dropped in WW2, and not knowing what the Burj Khalifa is, gets pretty frustrating
Dusty's role in this episode was to represent us non-sports fans. He voiced the ignorant questions we needed answered and made us feel included in a Podcast full of jocks like Nate and Mr. T
7:51 to 8:18 THE GREATEST 27 SECONDS OF THE PODCAST! Nate: "No, I think everyone does Fahren…I thought they…I felt when I was out there it was the vice versa kind of thing where you’re like the Fahrenheit, I thought it was like we’re the only ones doing Fahrenheit, or eh or something or eh me like its meters, they do meters everywhere, maybe it was meters, (Breakfast: "the Metric System") yea it was like everyone switched to the other one and all these have just held on to that way…but" Thank you for doing this each week.
Was at the Jerry Seinfeld show last night in Minneapolis and he was taking questions from the crowd at the end of the show. Someone asked who is his favorite comedian right now and replied Nate Bargatze! Also said he wished he was still shooting comedians in cars so he could have you on. Just thought you would enjoy that! Love the podcast and I have had the privilege of seeing you live several times myself. Can’t wait for the next time you come to Minnesota!
Hello Folks! Was so happy to find out Nate had a podcast, though it had been out for over 2 years. Just finished catching up, and glad to be hearing/watching live now. This podcast has kept my mind active during my commutes and has gotten me through some difficult times; despite the dark times of “hello folks” vs “let’s go folks" and Aaron’s planet fitness payments. I was so glad when Dusty got added. I knew it was gonna be him or Greg Warren for the 4th spot. I’m glad you settled for Dusty. All jokes aside congrats to Nate, Aaron, and Dusty on the healthy lifestyle changes , Bosley’s baby girl, Dusty’s baby boy and the moving up for all 4 of your careers. Thanks for the fun times. I look forward to your future podcasts, especially “Oregon”. P.S. Easily the hardest I laughed is when I found out that Brian Breakfast Bates was the culprit behind syrup on the waffle machine. One of the best bits I’ve ever heard, can’t believe it took so many episodes to find that out.
Top 5 smells: 1. The top of my babies heads 2. Fresh cut grass 3. The first few raindrops on a hot sidewalk 4. Garden dirt (especially when it’s just been watered) 5. Wood smoke Also, a vote for Dusty! When Dusty was a guest on the show I thought he brought a lot of energy and funny ideas to the show. I re-listened to his episodes more than others. I somehow missed the episode when he was introduced as a permanent member and was pleasantly surprised when he kept showing up. He also has a great laugh. It’s fun to hear when someone else is tickled by something. #teamdusty
“Cut it up!” I love Dusty’s take on this phrase. From now on whenever I feel like a group of people need more energy and excitement I will yell, “Cut It Up!”
I’m willing to bet that the guy that baby sat Dusty when he swallowed the penny is the same guy commenting #DumpDusty in every episode. He hasn’t forgotten who is responsible for his life falling apart.
Aaron saying he wanted to focus on his studies... what like friendship class. Ha. Then Dusty saying he doesn't like players to tell the crowd when to cheer. And he tells us WE're having a good time. Love this pod
For all of us long time listeners, I love how when we listen long enough we get to hear you guys have the same debates multiple times and I swear it’s like none of you remember that you’ve ever had that discussion before.
Billi Bob is always at his funniest when he talks about the ups and downs in his life. He still is genuinely naive which also makes everything funnier. I swear I cry when he talks about the problems he's had. The time he talked about his medical procedure near his eye was over the top-replay it over and over when I need a laugh. Great podcast, love all you guys!
As an Optometrist, I can tell you that the other listener's comment about Aaron increasing his field of vision by cupping his eyes is not quiet right. It can help by eliminating peripheral glare, but that's really only an issue for people with cataracts or someone who is very sensitive to light. When the pupils open more, we decrease our depth of focus, just like increasing the aperture of a camera (nice blurry background with subject in focus). So doing what Dusty did with making a small aperture with his hand to look through will both decrease glare and increase depth of focus. It's called the pinhole effect. I actually made a video about how the eye works like a camera on RUclips a while back. Not many views, but I enjoyed it. 😅
Jason B. Great podcast! I was racking my brain on how to start my best man speech for my best friend/cousins wedding. Finally I figured it out. “Hello Folks” is the best way to start a speech when your never speaking in front of crowds and kind of awkward on stage. Thanks for putting out a great podcast that anybody can listen to. Truly entertaining.
It’s a week late, but the best Jamarcus Russell story was: when the raiders drafted him, he was so far behind being able to read defenses that the coaches gave him tapes to take home and watch. After a point, he still wasn’t progressing and the coaches started to become suspicious that he wasn’t actually watching the tapes, so they started to give him completely blank tapes and asked him the next day if he reviewed them. He always said yes he had. He was released shortly after that.
I'm new to listening to this podcast but I'm sure happy that it exists. I'm a truck driver and listening to you guys makes my long days more bearable. Nate is probably the first comedian that I've ever seen my wife laugh at on a regular basis. I'm the one who enjoys comedy. When are you guys coming to idaho? Keep up the good work. Love the podcast.
Aaron is once again wearing his Linus shirt. If the Nateland fellas were transported to the world of Charles Shultz, who would they be? Here's what I think: Aaron - Schroeder: He plays the piano and is adored by Lucy. Dusty - Linus: He is all about conspiracies like "The Great Pumpkin," yet his faith also shines through in important moments (like Linus in the Christmas special). Brian - Charlie Brown: His earnest optimism in the face of constant frustration is both relatable and inspiring. Nate - Snoopy? Snoopy has a great imagination and is also the star of the comic. However, this is probably the worst fit. What are your thoughts? I'll go proofread this now.
Lovely episode today! Two NFL rule changes I’ve thought about: 1) Because the sport has become much more offensive and QB centric, I’d change 1st and 10 to 1st and 15 with every new set of downs. 2) OT has already been shortened to 10 minutes for player safety. This podcast really is the podcast of the people. About 10 times per episode I start commenting something just for one of the guys to say what I’m typing!
I don't know why, but the conversation about what meat is gamey had me thinking of the conversation between Kramer and Newman about what days of the week have a feel. "Monday has a feel, Friday has a feel, etc." I actually started reciting the bit in my car unprompted while listening to the podcast while driving back from a work run. Keep up the good work, fellas.
A while back Nate mentioned he had put his name down to practice golf with Will Arnett and Jason Bateman, without knowing them- or them knowing. How was it? (Love you guys)
Regarding the cut on/off conversation, in the Philippines they say open and close. For example, open the lights or open the air conditioner is to turn on the lights or turn on the air conditioner.
I love how Brian had no idea you all knew what Culver’s was, but in Episode 162 at the 1 hour 43 minute mark you all debate Culver’s versus Whataburger and he voted for Culver’s! Absolutely love this podcast. Keep doing the Lord’s work.
Dusty saying that's how you know you have low T, when you request the cream instead of the shot, had me literally laughing out loud🤣. But now I am wondering if maybe I have low T...😬
I’m on maternity leave so I needed a new podcast to listen to during the day. I love Nate’s comedy so I decided to check it out and start from the very beginning. Rolling up on episode 2 to find out that y’all ditched the Krispy Kreme situation was one of the more significant disappointments of my life!! Decided to stick it out anyway and loving the content! Only on episode 8 so maybe y’all have already, but I’d love to see the donut thing circle back around sometime!
I'm watching Thursday Night Football and the EXACT situation Brian referenced just happened when Jefferson fumbled it through the end zone and it was a touch back, but was inches from fumbling it out of bounds and would have been such a drastically different result. Nate definitely scoffed at Brian for bringing this up and thought it never really happened
You guys make the reference at least once almost every week lately but nobody has said it right. “It was a good bit in the ‘80’s, and it’s still relatable today.” always here for a Seinfeld reference and love the pod
My first ever college football game was Georgia at Auburn in 2002. I was just getting into sports at the time and I brought a hat for each team to my seat because I lived in Georgia, but I liked Auburn’s logo. I made a game time (resist the urge to segway to the ad read, Bookmark) decision on which hat to wear and picked UGA. The game turned out to be an instant classic Georgia win with David Greene throwing a TD to Michael Johnson on 4th and long with a minute left! The only other memory I have from that game was a 70 year old Auburn fan sitting in front of me constantly yelling “TAKE IT TO THE BARN!!” the entire game. He might as well been shouting “CUT IT UUUUP!” because I had no idea what he meant at the time
I'm watching Thursday night football and the scenario Brian is talking about at 2:00:44 just played out when Justin Jefferson fumbled through the end zone, so Nate was wrong. Put some more respect on Breakfaststrodamus's name.
On the topic of tipping - just this past weekend I actually had a weird tipping situation go down. (This actually happened right before I ran into Aaron at the airport as well). We were at the airport waiting to board a flight, and my 1 year old son was screaming for a water out of one of the clear glass freezers that he could see as we stood at our gate. So I went over and grabbed one to buy, waited in line, went up to the register and it rang up as $4.50 for a normal size bottle of water. So after she scans it and I see that price, she turns the iPad and specifically makes a point to say “there’s a tip option first and then sign”. I literally walked over there, grabbed a $5 bottle of water, and scanned it myself, all for her to offer for me to tip at the end of the most expensive bottled water I’ve ever purchased. It was wild to me. Needless to say, I gave her another $5 for tip and went about my business. (Just kidding I didn’t leave a tip)
At a local coffee shop in Wisconsin, no matter what time you go, you will hear the Store Manager walking around whistling the SportCenter sound. All day. I can assure you no one is finishing the second half of the whistle 😂 Amazing episode Folks, thank you for the weekly laughs! Also, Bates was fantastic in Appleton and we can't wait for Dusty, Aaron, and Nate (in Davenport)!
My son, Logan who is a teenager loves y’all’s podcast. He said that Dusty having his own Wikipedia is the equivalent to Ryan from the Office setting up Creeds blog “Creed Thoughts” both are equally scary. We love the podcast! Y’all keep it up!
Hey Bear! My boyfriend & I saw Aaron in Pleasanton, CA on Saturday night… the one with the Pillsbury Doughboy and the size 8 Oakland A’s non-fan. The show was great! We enjoyed meeting him and Mike James afterwards too, even though they had a really early flight. Thanks for coming out to the stranger parts of CA to entertain more folks!
The best JaMarcus Russell story is when the coaching staff wanted to see how dedicated and if he studied. So over a weekend they said we need you to learn these plays and they gave him a disc. When he came back on Monday they said are you ready to run those plays and he said he said yeah coach I'm good. They asked did you have a favorite one he said I'm good I'll loved them all. The coach told JaMarcus the disc is blank
It’s really nice to hear Nate plug Luis’s and Shane’s specials because they were both hilarious, and even fans of clean comedy should be able to enjoy a bit of the other side of the conversation! ❤
You guys should do an episode where you just read comments for two hours. This of course has nothing to do with the fact that I desperately would like you to read one of mine despite the fact that I have given you guys some gems in the past. None the less, as the old Native American saying goes… later dudes
Funny how watching this one after Nate’s SNL episode…the talk about Celsius and whatnot was like the premises to the George Washington sketch. Hilarious.
You Folks need to bop through Minnesota one of these days! I know Nate came through in June or so but would love to see you guys live! Cheers folks love the podcast, it makes Wednesdays at work so much better!
As a Tennessee Vols fan I definitely agree with Big T Bates rule change. In 2005 I went to my first Tennessee game against Alabama. Tennessee drove down the field and was about to score when a good hit from AL knocked the ball loose and it shot out the back of the end zone. The final score was only 6-3 UA. So definitely devastating rule to me. But to his point it happens pretty often with players trying to lay out for the goal line and losing control of the ball just before reaching it and it going out the back.
In the Australian National Rugby League (NRL), we have a challenge rule exactly as described by Brody. The captain of each team can challenge any call by the ref, but if they are wrong they lose the ability to keep challenging. Since it was brought in, roughly 50% of calls have gone in favour of the captain which would've otherwise been an incorrect call by the ref.
Yo Nate, I love the idea of throwing the football into the fans. Maybe you can do something like that for your specials. Throw something into the fans (similar to football, maybe the mic, a signed towel, signed hat). Love the idea of taking photos later. Thank you Nateland for all the laughs!
We need a podcast on Rugby -- Would love to see the group analyze the 'organized chaos' that is the sport of Rugby. Love the show -- keep up the good work!
Easiest way to remember some of the other conversions when you go abroad is that 1 lb = 2.2 kg and 1 meter = 3.3 feet. For kilometers to miles, 100 kilometers per hour is about 60 mph, so the number of miles is about 60% of the kilometers. Also have to throw in that the actual Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion is Celsius degrees x 1.8 + 32 but I just went abroad and used Nate’s approach… way easier to be honest!
Babe Ruth: 159 home runs in his first 674 career games / W-L 35-18 in his first 455.0 career innings pitched. - Shohei Ohtani: 160 home runs in his first 674 career games / W-L 35-19 in his first 455.0 IP career innings pitched.
If I could change a rule in the NFL, I would make Kickoff Field Goals legal. That would require the kicker to get the ball over 75 yards deep and over 10 feet high to clear the crossbar. This could result in a team scoring up to 11 points on a drive and allow teams losing by a small margin to remain competitive.
I was literally typing this as you read my comment. You made my day! My real name, Paul Goodness, is a lot easier to pronounce and more fun to say. Anyway, I didn't even know "Low T" was a thing! I'm a big blubbering crying fool. My inner dialogue is like, "Knock it off you wussy. What are you even crying about? Why are you so soft?" Now I might know why. Binky and I are old and in the "Low T" gang. I look forward to every Wednesday. Thanks, fellas, for adding some joy to our lives.
I’ve been drinking 40+ oz of coffee per day. Never jittery. Still slept fine. It always chilled me out. Found out I have ADD. Once I told my doc how much coffee I was drinking to self medicate she decided the mini meth pill would be healthier. It’s been a life changer
You can smell the different cereals being made in cedar rapids throughout the city. Usually not my favorite smells but it's all worth it for oops all berries day.
If I could change anything in the NFL it would be that the AFC and NFC would not exist anymore and all 32 teams would play under the NFL banner only. Also, none of these 8 divisions, just one long list of teams in a single ladder. The final series would be a 12-match elimination match with the teams finishing in first and second having a rest week before joining week two. Last year the Lions finished with the 11th-best win/loss record and didn't make the finals, yet 19th-placed Buccaneers played in the finals. In fact, five teams finished with better win/loss records than the Buccs, but they didn't make the play-offs.
I’m right there with Dusty with caffeine. I have only drank water for the past few years. I have not been sleeping well lately so the past 7 to 10 days I have been drinking cappuccino in the morning and did not the last two days. My eyes were twitching like crazy the last two days without the caffeine.
What are the examples of gamey food? Common North American game species include bear, bison, antelope, caribou, deer, elk, moose, reindeer, wild boar, snake, alligator, rabbit, squirrel, beaver, and birds (pheasant, grouse, quail, wild turkey, wild geese and ducks).
While I strongly agree with Nate that it seems like a lot of charities don’t show much in the way of results, the Carter foundation has nearly eliminated the Guinea Worm and expect it to be completely gone in the next 5 years.
I used to be a restaurant manager and once interviewed a young man whose most recent job was playing for the Minnesota Vikings. He played pre-season and got cut. Unfortunately he had no backup plan so it was back to waiting tables.
The way the camera is set up makes you feel like you're sitting across the table from Breakfast amongst the rest of the folks. For the first time I watched the episode on our TV in my living room while working from home. During the "smells" discussion I kept yelling " the smell of fresh rain!" and then realized, oh yeah. they can't hear me.
No way! I live in South Bend and was at that TSU vs. Notre Dame game that Aaron was at! The TSU band was indeed amazing!! It was a great game to be at in general! Maybe I’ll run into Aaron at another game sometime! 👍
What takes the gamey taste out of meat? The distinct game flavor of either birds or animals will be milder after soaking the meat overnight in the refrigerator in either a salt or vinegar solution. 2. Vinegar solution - 1 cup per quart of cold water. Use enough solution to cover the game completely.
The one rule change I would do is no more games ending in a tie (NFL)! We’re adults, let there be a winner and a loser. I say do overtime as normal, if no one scores then bring out the kickers and they do a kick-off; see who can hit the deepest field goal.
Troy Polamalu went to Douglas High School in Winston, Oregon. Both of my parents graduated from there in the early 80s. It's a small town just south of My hometown ( Roseburg, Or.) It's crazy to hear people talk about playing sports with him. Pretty cool! He still has family in this area. Fun episode!! 🏟 🏈
The idea of every Dustypedia page starting with “Listen…” kills me 😂
Haha!!!!
“We didn’t have a lot of money, but we had more money than eating frogs out of the creek” may be one of the best Dusty quotes ever. Goodness, this made me laugh out loud. 😂
that needs to be on a t shirt.
I don’t get the Dusty dislike. I personally think he’s freaking awesome and a great addition to the group. #DustyForever
It's because he goes against the norm and his opinions are usually opposite of the other guys. I enjoy his presence on the show because of that.
Dusty laughs a lot like my oldest brother so it's like a hug from home when he gets to laughing.
I'm infuriated when he's not on the episode now. The dislike of Dusty is so baffling to me that it just makes me giggle.
He's my favorite comedian but his theories about space is fake and the earth is flat, while not knowing basic things like the names of atomic bombs dropped in WW2, and not knowing what the Burj Khalifa is, gets pretty frustrating
It's not the theories - he monopolizes the conversation and pulls focus away from the others. But he's a funny dude w a great voice.
This episode was perfect. No one seemed tired, zoned out, or irritated! Caffeinated Dusty was what I needed today. CUT IT UUUUUPPP!!!!
Caffeinated Dusty is my favorite Dusty . “Cut it uuuuup!”
Haha!
"I got a little shake to me" LOL!
Dusty's role in this episode was to represent us non-sports fans. He voiced the ignorant questions we needed answered and made us feel included in a Podcast full of jocks like Nate and Mr. T
Nate's rant on charity was amazing straight up facts
7:51 to 8:18 THE GREATEST 27 SECONDS OF THE PODCAST! BRIAN BAtES was great in this episode! Sorry about the low "T"!
The amount of paper stacking Aaron Weber commits in one ad read is criminal
“This should be good” Bates about Dusty’s mom’s boyfriend 😂😂😂

"Beat it, Tharp" has got to be the new response for when you say "Hello, Folks!" to someone but don't get the proper "Hey Bear!" response.
Jason B.

Aaron is once again wearing his Linus shirt. If the Nateland fellas were transported to the world of Charles Shultz, who would they be?
Here's what I think:
Aaron - Schroeder: He plays the piano and is adored by Lucy.
You nailed it
Holly is Woodstock!!
I feel like Nate is kind of a Lucy. Deep down has a good heart, but loves cutting everyone down to size to gain dominance LOL.
@@kristipickens1079 this is a great point.
@@katielizsmith That may fit better than Snoopy! Great point!
Dusty was full of energy in the podcast ~ keep up the caffeine Dusty! #jitters 😂
Dusty is the best!!!
Lovely episode today!

Regarding the cut on/off conversation, in the Philippines they say open and close. For example, open the lights or open the air conditioner is to turn on the lights or turn on the air conditioner.
Flags would be a good episode for you guys after hearing you talk about Dustys hat. St. Louis has arguably the best city flag in the country.

I'm watching Thursday night football and the scenario Brian is talking about at 2:00:44 just played out when Justin Jefferson fumbled through the end zone, so Nate was wrong. Put some more respect on Breakfaststrodamus's name.
Came here to see if anyone else caught this. 😂
@@djj.86 Literally as soon as I saw the ball come out I jumped on here.
I’m clearing off a shelf at home right now for a complete set of the Dustypedia Opelika.
Enjoyed this weeks episode even though I am not a fan of football. You fellas made it a good time. Thanks for all the laughs
Dustypedia… “Listen, I can’t prove this 😂”
Who wants to dump Dusty?!
Oh well, at least he's commenting. Hopefully that helps the algorithm
No One
Me.
Hilarious.
The explanation of the five seasons is literally the very next sentence of what Aaron read. Lol This is why I love this podcast.
You Folks need to bop through Minnesota one of these days! I know Nate came through in June or so but would love to see you guys live! Cheers folks love the podcast, it makes Wednesdays at work so much better!
Wait, did Nate ever figure out Dusty wasn't wearing a hat in that one episode?
I'm not sure he ever did!
I just want to know where Dusty went in his mind at 35:33
Is there a link to the fantasy leagues?
12:18am my time, but the Boys are back and we have a football episode? I guess I'm staying up. Wish me luck in the morning 😁
Yo Nate, I love the idea of throwing the football into the fans. Maybe you can do something like that for your specials. Throw something into the fans (similar to football, maybe the mic, a signed towel, signed hat). Love the idea of taking photos later. Thank you Nateland for all the laughs!
How do you have a football episode and not try to get Dusty to talk about Barry Sanders?
Did Aaron & Dusty get reprimanded for cutting up during ad reads? I feel like they are really trying to hold it together. Good job, boys.
Miss Rogers said, when I was in the 6th grade, that the metric system was coming and we needed to get on board. That was 1976.
Babe Ruth: 159 home runs in his first 674
career games / W-L 35-18 in his first 455.0 career innings pitched.
- Shohei Ohtani: 160 home runs in his first 674 career games / W-L 35-19 in his first
455.0 IP career innings pitched.
Oops! All berries are the best
To quickly convert Celsius I use the saying "30 is hot, 20 is nice, 10 is chilly, 0 is ice".

Totally agree with Biscuits on the football rule changes. Bates for Commissioner!
I'm glad Nate said that about these charities that seem to never EVER solve anything.
No way! I live in South Bend and was at that TSU vs. Notre Dame game that Aaron was at! The TSU band was indeed amazing!! It was a great game to be at in general! Maybe I’ll run into Aaron at another game sometime! 👍
Oh thank god, this podcast finally will talk about Football, I just wish once they would talk about Golf also.
Joe List is HILARIOUS
me and my wife are coming to see nate at wheeling WV cant wait
What takes the gamey taste out of meat?
The distinct game flavor of either birds or animals will be milder after soaking the meat overnight in the refrigerator in either a salt or vinegar solution. 2. Vinegar solution - 1 cup per quart of cold water. Use enough solution to cover the game completely.
The one rule change I would do is no more games ending in a tie (NFL)! We’re adults, let there be a winner and a loser. I say do overtime as normal, if no one scores then bring out the kickers and they do a kick-off; see who can hit the deepest field goal.
I’m so excited to see Nate in Rochester!! Is there any way to see who will be with him?

John Crist has a pretty funny bit going around about fantasy football.
35:30 Dusty checks out and visits places unknown to everyone but him.
Made me chuckle about Hinder... I did love that album but had no idea they were still around!
