Feeling LUCKY on September 4th 1974 I flew Singapore Airlines 747 - 212B from Jakarta ,Singapore , lay over in Hongkong for one night at H K Miramar Hotel and was picked up by my uncle at destination SFO. I was traveling alone as a 13 years old to live with an uncle in the USA. The CAPTAIN escorted me as a minor to Miramar Hotel Hongkong during the Layover and with the Flight Crew picked me up and drove me to the Airport to the 747 -212B to continue the journey to SFO . BRAVO. Singapore International Airlines
Many years ago, at least 10 years, I watched a documentary in the UK about the background workings of Heathrow Airport The episode I watched was concerned with VIP handling. The evening that this documentary was being filmed, the VIP section were awaiting the arrival of the Sultan of Brunei with his entourage. The Sultan duly arrived in his private 747 biz jet, piloting himself. The lady in charge of VIP reception spoke to the Sultan and said; “Sir, we were told to also expect your wife to arrive this evening, but she appears not to be with you.” The Sultan replied, “ she wasn’t ready, she’s coming on the other one.” 20 minutes later another Boeing 747 landed from the Sultans private flight with his wife and her entourage. That’s what you call another level.

If you have ever fly with A380 you will never wanted to fly with other types of air plane except A380. Had a wonderful experience from Qatar to Brisbane Australia 14hrs non stop.
I have been on A380 as an economy passenger, JFK to Doha and Toronto to Dubai. It felt like any other long haul wide body air craft. Normal experience.
It is because of the camber of the wing. The engines propel the jet forward, causing air to flow over the wing. Camber creates a pressure differential between the lower surface (higher pressure) of the wing and the upper surface of the wing (lower pressure). Higher pressure pushes upward into the lower pressure air. Alas, the magic of flight.
Especially if you fly it yourself! I don’t know if he still does, but he used to pilot it himself. And just to make it more impressive, he had more than one ! I say had , because I know that he used to have at least two, but I do not know if this is still the case.
@@airber78 The Aircraft has not been retired. They just don’t make it anymore, the last one was made last year, a freighter. But both versions will still be flying for sometime yet my friend. The cargo version for many more years to come.

A high level of jealousy shown by some but let’s face it, if you where the ruler of a country with its wealth and the average person in that country is not poor or downtrodden like many in neighbouring countries are then why shouldn’t he travel in style. He is a great friend to the UK
