It’s freaking crazy that I’ve been a trader for more than two decades.
But you know what’s not crazy? Over those two decades, I’ve learned a LOT. And I want to share it with you - right here and now.
I have a reputation for being kind of a drill sergeant. I can be tough on my Trading Challenge students. But it’s not without good reason...
I feel the need to drill these lessons into you … because the stock market can be a bloody battlefield. I’d rather be seen as the jerk who saved you money than the ‘nice’ guy who led you to blow up your account.
In this video, I share 20 of the most important lessons I’ve learned over my career.
    Some highlights?
For one … patterns repeat. What happened with the dot-com stocks when I was just starting out as a trader was the same as bitcoin stocks a few years ago. Will you be able to spot the next stock market phenomenon? The tech might be new, but the patterns will repeat.
Another tip? You’ve gotta think like a retired trader. I talk about this a lot … and I’ll be the first to admit, it hurts my students’ brains. A lot.
This approach might make me miss decent trades … But I think it’s worth it. I like having a life and enjoying myself. I get to travel, build schools, and give back. What do you want out of life?
I’ve got so much more to share … like how sometimes the best trade is no trade. I’ll tell you why forcing trades is never a good strategy. I’ll explain how sometimes this ‘counterintuitive’ advice - and plenty of restraint - is actually a smart choice.
Also, you’ve got to remember that scams are rampant in the world of penny stocks. Sorry, but that’s the truth. The best way to protect yourself? Educate yourself. Build your knowledge account.
How has my trading changed in the past 20+ years? Watch the video to see what’s changed over the years. Plus I’ll share why I think right now is the BEST time possible to learn how to trade!
There are so many more lessons. Trading isn’t an exact science … but it’s also not rocket science. Don’t miss these lessons!
From #1-20, which lesson helped you most? Let me know what you think!

#19 relates to me recently 18:35-19:10 , I nailed $FCEL , I was in @2.53 and out @2.77 I bought the rumor and sold before the news lol! It’s a great lesson though because this morning when the news did come out on their earning the stock tanked from 3.20 all the way down to like 2.
      UNDERRATED LESSON!!!!!!!!
This trade also wiped out all my annoying 5-10-20$ losses , some of which should’ve been wins but work got in the way and that’s ok! Sometimes life gets in the way!
      Still going strong Tim!
See you in ... idk what the number is anymore , we’ll just say like 950.
      Thanks again

Lesson #16- Learn to react, not predict is definitely a good one, some of these stocks can be unpredictable anyway so it’s best to just react to the price action, news, etc

Good video thank you. The best lessons are “learn to react and not predict the market” and “Give back”. This is very true, most cases when I tried to use what I got from my old learned patterns or what I think should happen from the news, it back fires on me, now I go with the flow. As for giving back, this is a mystery, but also very true. If you give back to other people what you have, is it your knowledge or money, you always get back a double portion of what you have given in cash or kind, it’s the law of nature. How it works or why that is? No one knows😶, just give back, and avoid being selfish or you will lose it all.

I've watched a few of your videos now Tim and you seem really authentic. As for your question about which lesson helped the most. It's tough to choose 1 out of 20 so top 3
Lesson 9 Rule #1 Cut losses Quickly
Lesson 6 This is a battlefield, arm yourself with education
Lesson 17 Take a little something from every successful (and fully transparent trader & investor)....
Thank you for the guidance Tim!

this is the first time i watch your video and is the first time i comment on yt. im a new trader, in the past 12 months i made 40k at start but now im down 40k with less than 2k in the account. my mistake is being an attacker, i traded everyday and many time a day. i knew this is wrong but couldn't control my greed, if i were to take small profit and cut losses i be near the 6 figure mark now. i learnt this the painful way as i was so stress out. i hope others don't make the same mistake i did. your video is the best so far as you summarised in a way everyone can follow and is real practical facts. i don't know if i can turn my 2k back to 40k or not but one thing for sure after watching your vdideo is that im heading back to the right direction. you got my acct together, thank you

I am a rule keeper. However I don't even know where to begin. I'm overwhelmed with excitement and enthusiasm. I am not stuck in my ways. I am a very opened minded person. I just need direction. I appreciate you being honest, upfront and bold. I just need to get started. I have enough to start my marathon. I can see the trends, I can follow directions well. I can follow good stocks but I don't even know where to purchase these stocks. Do I need a separate bank account or where do I start with what kind of account. I don't know how I found you but I sure do appreciate your leadership. As a retired pastor I know the value of following the person that is leading.
Mr. Sykes this guy humbly submits to your leadership. Thank you Rich Workman...

I'm now consistent. Realised trading is 99% mental ( to master trading......first master thyself) Most of OUR Thoughts are delusional...........certainly in trading. Those thoughts which we hold so dearly......are nothing to do with how we are going to profit!!!

I got the most value out of the safety lesson. It is just my nature to stick my chin out to tempt fate, then in the natural world it ain't pretty for the baited. In stocks I believe you that it will not pay to stick a chin out, at all. A 10% success rate is not a big pad to land a large bird on but you have one there and that is no mistake. I was not blessed with a photographic memory as you were but I can outwork most of them and that would in this case be learning and following a plan. Make a plan follow the plan. Easy. Patience is the part that is not quite so easily done when one is hungry. Anyway congrats on beating, no, learning and employing the system to, in effect, beat the (6 to 6) system.

I feel like I'm a little more mature of a trader now, finding stocks on my own then waiting for the trade to come to me before I go long or short. I'll let you know how I do, so far last week I'm up a good 5 percent on my tiny account of 10k USD, using the dip buying earnings/contract strategy.

All of them are important to learn and live by, but if I was to choose one that stood out it would be #3. #3 helps cultivate patients and being in the right mindset when trading. Waiting for the best setups is better than trading for the sake of trading and taking a loss. #12 speaks to the importance of trading with 3 accounts (Financial, Knowledge, Experience) (pg61-63) Preparation! Learn from each trade/strategy!

My favorite tip was start small. I'm a bad girl with underdog mentality, which is my weakness so start small tip will help me more than I know

All lessons always help, The most helpful is to keep studying the market, I do it all day, I am speeding up my learning process as fast as possible. also learning to use the bullshit spam to figure out how it changes the market and the games they play. And making it work to my advantage, It's a lot to figure out all at once. Thanks for the help!!!!!!!
