    Best Hagane song! 😆🤘

This song is unusual for Hagane in that it was written by bassist Sayaka instead of guitarist Sakura (who has written almost all of their songs from the beginning of the project). It's a banger!
The big surprise for me in the new Hagane is vocalist Nagi. I expected excellence from the two original members. Sayaka is a rock-solid metal bassist who can kick in some flash on occasion but doesn't consider that her main function (and thus you never catch her overplaying). Sakura Yoshida is straight up one of the very best guitarists in this niche, full stop. And Junna, who could legitimately be accused of overplaying in GRBK/TRiDENT, is just perfect for this band, with her technical chops and massive energy. I have to admit I didn't really expect complete noob Nagi (this is her first band ever) to be able to hold her own in _this_ company. That's too big an ask for a rookie, right?
How wrong I was. Power, range, precise enunciation, emotion, character...Nagi has a terrific voice. It also looks like she has a natural talent for stagecraft. Where did they _find_ this girl?!?

I agree, it's a fantastic song. Love the potential audience participation with chanting too.

Junna, Sakura and Rio (ex-Mary's Blood) are also together in a weird project for the "virtual" singer Kumano BearTrice.😲 ruclips.net/video/qRdY2UC9LUs/видео.htmlsi=z4Jc-TmQ4JyTm3a8

It'll probably end up being my favourite Hagane song. I generally like their contrast between prog-influenced instrumentation and catchy, slightly cheesy (in a good way) vocal melodies, but here they took it to a new level.

Thanks for the reaction. One of my favorite songs from the past few weeks. This new version of Hagane is a lot more appealing to me than the previous iteration.
I see you've got a lot of great reactions in your back catalog. I'm subscribed and gonna go through your backlog.
    cheers!

      Thanks a lot! 👍
I mostly do the full albums (or EPs), but if you've got any recommendations feel free to let me know 😉

@@react-o-mat I've just started chipping away at your massive backlog 😂.
So I'm not not sure if you have covered any of these, but here's what's been stuck on repeat for me for the past week.
      Crossfaith - My Own Salvation
      ruclips.net/video/qB4MZbJh2VU/видео.html
I watched this video for the first time and was mesmerized by the video and loved the sound. The mix of metal and electronic music reminds me of a band I used to love named Soilwork, but this is cranked to 11. I have since gone through and binged their whole catalog.
      STMLT - Antimental
      ruclips.net/video/5fQhQL56W1k/видео.html
This is an idol rock group who have the most confusing youtube page I've ever seen. I was subscribed for a bit, but all of the fan oriented videos were killing my feed. But the music is great. I guess they've have a lineup change recently adding a new vocalist for harsh stuff.
GUNSHIP - Blood For The Blood God
      ruclips.net/video/dHAP3E5e2jc/видео.html
Gunship is incredible and I've been a fan for years, but this latest video is a 10/10. They got Seth Ickerman to do the visuals (they are the team that did the Carpenter Brut - Turbo Killer video which is also incredible if you haven't seen it), and they even got Doug Bradley (Pinhead from Hellraiser series) to narrate.
Even if you don't care to do a reaction video, they're worth a listen.

Japanese music of various styles is currently the epicenter of the world, you can twist and turn it however you want, the quality of the bands/musicians/composition/skill level regardless of whether male or female is far superior. As a German, I have been in the Japanese black hole since 2018 (but this secret black hole is dissolving in plain sight, the world is getting more and more wind of it, word is getting around that there is something going on in Japan) all of my favorites except for "The Warning" come from Japan. Almost everyone I have introduced to the Japanese music scene has fallen completely for it. The reboot of Hagane is overwhelming, Sayaka and Sakura have probably found the right band members, Junna is difficult to tame, but a real elemental force, I like Nagi's voice more and more, she has a very extraordinary voice like Asami

I have almost no complaints about this one. I can lose the tiny amounts of melodic/cheesy power metal melody and the one overproduced (sounds slightly autotuned) high note. I also would like a slightly different drum production, but it's not too bad on this one. Overall this is almost perfect for my tastes. As I have said on an other channel (and got flack for), I wish they (and that goes for a lot of Japanese bands) didn't put "live" in the title if it's studio sound with live footage (even with the tiny amount of live sound), but it is what it is. This is without question my favourite Hagane track.

Not at all, this is good power metal, but I prefer the previous lineup... they used to have a more classic sound with a prog touch.
Nagi is great, but I liked Uyu's voice better, Mayto's guitar is missed and I've never been a Junna fan... her departure was the best thing that could have happened to Trident, but it's also true that she seems to fit better in Hagane.😊👍

@@COTTERO I think Junna probably learned how to adjust to the music better. I personally liked her in Girls Rock Band Kakumei, but she has a tendency to grab the attention in bands she plays in because of her playing style and it doesn't always work for everybody which is very fair criticism.
I noticed when I saw a live set from Gasshan Ichinose a couple of years ago where Junna played drums that she did a pretty good job of not overplaying on that one, which is when I had a feeling she was trying to work on that. She also played with Marty Friendman if I'm not mistaken (a couple of gigs to fill in for the normal drummer) and she played sets for Fate Gear in 2023 as well filling in for Haruka. I think she tried to work on it a lot actually and she clearly learned from it, which might be why it works better with Hagane.
As far as power metal goes, I am just not a huge fan of the sound of most power metal. The power metal acts or tracks that I love the most are generally leaning more into thrash (some Lovebites and Mary's Blood tracks), are more progressive (Symphony X) or have other types of vocals like harsh vocals in Unlucky Morpheus (and Jill's violin) or maybe a band like Zettai Club but even Unlucky Morpheus' pure power metal tracks are not really for me most of the time. Pure power metal almost always feels extremely sterile and lifeless to me, which makes it boring. It misses soul for me and the typical high pitched vocals are not helping, I personally prefer lower pitched vocals (like Mary's Blood Eye or Band-Maid Saiki) over the high pitched ones. But obviously to each their own, I completely understand why people love that sound and it is very much loved in Japan. And the technical chops are almost always extremely high, which is great to watch. I own plenty of albums/live Blu-rays from the bands I mentioned, so it's not that I haven't tried or don't find anything that I really enjoy (I like all of them), but overall I don't listen to a lot of their music often because it just makes me tired most of the time.
