I have the same issue with modern cars: they stuff the biggest screen they can without any regard for aesthetic appeal: just a dash overtaken by a huge tablet. Also, most, if not all, come with tinted windows. I have an 80’s BMW and I love the crisp look of huge, crystal clear windows.
I just bought a volvo 2 months ago , best car to date, i put about 6000 km on it in those 2 months, very confortable, saved me 2 times when i wasn’t paying atention, great great cars! I wish you good roads and no accidents Ethan!
I hate all the digital crap in new cars too. Give me analog !!! Ugh, I wish you would've checked out the Peugeot 205 GTI Tolman Edition. Totally analog. Tolman is based in Warwickshire, United Kingdom. Volvos are supercool though. Love it.
if i had the same possibilities as you, talking about Volvo I´d surely get a POLESTAR 1. That was the last best design from volvo to me. I know it´s far from being the best pick, but I´d go with it if I could.
All electric is not an option for those who live in the countryside or travel long distances. If I was to get an all electric car I would choose a Taycan
@@EthanFromLondon The polestar 1 is a 600hp hybrid GT car. Full carbon body, 120km range on electric only and also very expensive. Only 1500 were made.
Yes everyone does speak English even when they say they don't, they will end up having a proper conversation with you. Service minded? I don't think anyone in Europe is Service minded compared to the Brits. So for us its a nightmare everywhere.
Lovely review on the volvo. Also looks like the wise and practical choice. Lots of safety furniture that aren’t found in other cars so you may really fall in love with such a nice vehicle :)
I just gave my mechanic my 2000 V70 Cross Country. Immobilizer died, obsolete part, has to be a virgin part, so can't replace with a used one.... bricked the car.

They are majority owned by Chınese Geely group. But recently they have sold some of the shares. They might be getting out of Volvo as Chinese grow more confident with their own brands and probably they see Volvo will never achieve big sales numbers to make big profits... I was angry at them at one point because it took them so long to come with new models in 2010s. But they gave such a freedom to Swedish designers to take their time to come up with great designs and Swedes surely did! Something quarterly-share-price minded previous USAian owners Ford would never do...
Interesting. The volvo design improved a lot in the last years and became classy and elegant while most other car brands declined, my main issue with modern volvos is they are limited to 180km/h which is maybe not an issue in sweden.
Why on Earth does anyone want to drive an SUV over 180/hour? There are other cars for that. Might as well jump off a cliff rather than endangering other people
I meant volvo in general, not SUV in particular. of course for an SUV it's ok but see no reason for a sedan or a wagon to be limited. @@EthanFromLondon
Waiting for mine next month, I do daily less then 60km so I will most of the time be on electric only! Well.... unless I'm in a hurry 70km + Gasoline is still the best option today, in a long voyage you don't have to wait at least one hour for every +-300km And 7 seat is my only option
I wonder if you'd enjoy an inexpensive 997.2 C4S Cab for mountain drives? They're pretty reliable. Mine has 90k miles on it now. Just a thought if you ever want to go canyon carving in Sweeden!
If you watched my other videos you would see I have had around 16 Porsches and the last one was a 9912 C4S. I was so bored of it that I didn’t drive it for months on end. Totally soulless car! 997.2 might be a good option but I am done with sports cars for now
Lovely lovely vehicle, indeed. Makes you feel like a local blending in with the rest. Timeless beauty and a miriad of safety features; truth be told Volvo has been a frontrunner of vehicle safety from early on and was the one that invented the seatbelt and refused to patent it for the benefit of all car users. The only concern might be that the company is now owned by a Chinese fund and it is unknown the owners' long term committment. Rover is owned by Tata Group, if I am not mistaken; this is another classic manufacturer that is under questionable quality owneship.
i think rovers improved in quality after the tata group took over honestly. my last few range rovers havent had issues. i think the uk is falling apart and thats why the cars were breaking down too
I have 2 Porsches and 2 BMW M3s but my main driver is a 2010 XC70 with 110,000 miles. So practical so throw stuff in, and while I just put $2,500 into it at the shop, its better than a car payment. Nobody does seats like Volvo. They are the most comfortable Ive ever sat in. They don't look like anything special but the Swedish engineers do their homework to remove those cramp spots. One of the few manufacturers that still makes a wagon!

Few questions I had about Sweden: Is it really true that everyone speaks English?
What's the level of service generally? Are Swedes service-minded?
Yes everyone does speak English even when they say they don't, they will end up having a proper conversation with you. Service minded? I don't think anyone in Europe is Service minded compared to the Brits. So for us its a nightmare everywhere.

If something goes wrong with a Range Rover? Don’t you mean when something goes wrong?
Nothing ever went wrong with my 3 Range Rovers. I drove them each for more than 30K miles.

Volvo XC90 that all my wife ever own she when through four of them. She have a brand new one 2023. Sweet sweet
Excellent choice! 👌🏽 Perfect car for Sweden and long trips. Enjoy!
Hi. If I’m buying a XC60 in the UK would you recommend a PHEV or HEV (which one do you have ?) thanks
You will be back to a Porsche 911. It's like the eagles song hotel California.
You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.

Güzel sunum için sağolun...
That feeling when you can't even afford a 10 year old Toyota
A reliable brand's car that is only 10 years old..? Yeah, that's not affordable to many people.
RUclips didn't recommend me a single of these newer videos of last few weeks... 😤

Volvo is chinese now, isn't it?
It’s Swedish and still made in Sweden. Just because someone invests into a business doesn’t make it Chinese

By the way, I think Land/Rage Rover are owned by Indian company Tata, just like Volvo by Chinese Geely...

You made the right choice. Range Rovers are either getting stolen or breaking down. I hope you enjoy your Volvo for many years to come.
Being 40 I remember a time when Volvo’s were regarded as cars geography teachers bought, but they can be quite beautiful now.
Beautiful "new" design of Volvo. I like the caravan, too.
Enjoy, have fun ✌️
Why did you chose the 7 seater option?
Because of the six kids I have
Volvo was my first foray into luxury cars. Had a silver S40. Was great to run.
We’ve had several Volvos. They’re great.
Have you moved out of South London fully now?

I agree with everything but for me nothing beats the Range Rover seats. They are the most comfortable
Love the color and the clear windows
Good move. It's a good and reliable vehicle. A lot cheaper to maintain.
