The G2 is a custom Big Muff. Made by Pete Cornish for David Gilmour. It was used around the Animals era. It has a buffer that is a top notch Pink Floyd worthy buffer- so no true bypass. The tone control is more like the Rat pedal than the og Big Muff, it has less distortion but more sustain somehow. Super fancy voltage filtering and distribution. Build your own, it's standard parts, mostly. Get one and run it through a big clean tube amp. Hiwatt 70'sis recommended. It is something to behold.
First time viewer...and loved the show! Just found out Pete Cornish lives about 20 minutes away from me so am checking out his pedals. Sure sounded sweet on this one. Anyway, great show guys - and love those accents
thank you Mr C!
🤘😁🤘
Great review. That RAT boost on the G2 sounds pretty great!
The G2 is an awesome pedal, it’s the one Cornish pedal that I think is unique. It sounds great with the gain down low, too. The price is hard to swallow. People who say they’re not worth it, probably right. I’ve never really played anything like a G2, though. The Toptone DG2 is good, but the buffer in the Cornish does make it sound different.
What up fellas! The Cornish sounds so very different. No even comparable really.
Gabriel Payne i mean....it’s somewhat comparable being that they are both drive pedals and you can with some eq’ing dial them in to sound similar...but yeah...they are 100% different sounding drives
I sure hope so for 600 bucks.
$600 is definitely a lot for a pedal but if it sits on the shelf it’s art!!
nathan olivarez 😂🤣 that’s true!
🤘😎🤘
Best $70 pedal I ever bought!!
Cristobal Sanchez agreed
Wonderful Guys, I was precisely wondering if a G2 or P2 would be worth of $600, so thanks!!
CRANK IT DUDE!!!
Freedom Rock Man!
nathan olivarez heeeyyy...you ruined my record man...i just bought it....
🤘😎🤘
Makes me want a rat. You guys should check out the Mooer Black Secret, and maybe do a versus video against the rat
I love drive. I'm not Gunna pay $600 for one but it sounds great!!! Both sound like amazing pedals :) I'll be looking at a rat soon :)
C.M. Davidson dude they are both great drive pedals!
To me the G2 sounds like an overdriven tube power amp section. Cool sound, not sure its $600 cool, but its cool for sure.
Internet Guy thanks for watching!

Everything hand made catch my attention.....
Dont know why but never been a fan of mass produced effects 😂🙌
I own products made by other builder that at the begin weren't expensive.
Now I own expensive pedals still in them original box 😂🙌🤫
About sound I always give credit to the players in primis.....if the player is bad everything sounds bad.
Components in an effect are more about history of the music than tone to be fair.
I've seen people using expensive transistors but the tone wasnt there and you could replicate the same with a different kind of transistors.
But still the expensive are history....the newest are not 😂🙌
Is so easy for a big business to develope and produce an effect.
The small builder is always in the shit from the begin......he has to make it,test it,sponsor it,make it run,and alone has to find a way to get through the market without fail.....if he fails noone will know it.....
Cornish was,is and always will be a legend to all o us pedal builder maniacs 😂🙌
seianniesei agreed!...the Cornish G2 is a really great sounding drive pedal built by a legend!
There is no way in hell I would pay $600 for a distortion pedal, but the rat pushing a rams head sounds better anyway. In my useless opinion anyway.
$400+ single effect pedals are FAR overpriced.
I'm at a loss of words.
This is like comparing smoking paper through the bong and then smoking some sticky icky.
Yes, they both burn, but that's where the comparison ends.
You have a Hand made circuit compared to a Mass production model. Not the same.
kevin b agreed!....but it was fun comparing the 2 drive pedals!
🤘😎🤘
If you're comparing smoking paper vs. bong vs. sticky icky the comparison is quite fun! Which one gets you higher? Which one do you like more? Which is easiest? Which is cheapest? Do either produce the same high as the other one? There are plenty of questions to answer by comparing such things. As is the case here.
The hosts sharing this comparison was certainly far more helpful than for them not to do it. That was the whole point, to compare them.
