Hello. You did a good Job, however, you were supposed to fry the hot dog first in oil as a whole before cutting it, and use little oil to sauteed the onions for a few second before pitting the filling in. This will make a big difference in the taste when cook. Thank you and blessings
That’s right sis and let’s go and stand up tribe of levi🇭🇹 in the building. APTTMHYah 🙌🏿🙌🏿. Also this looks so good sis and I’m definitely ganna try this out.
Very nicely done 👏🏼👏🏼 and look very appetizing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼I usually cook all the ingredients before adding them to the dough 👀👀👀but now I’m going to make it your way and see how I like it if I do then it will become my recipe for life thank you soooooooo much 🙏🙏🙏God bless you 🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷😘
Really enjoyed the thoroughness and details of this tutorial. I was a little hesitant to add one tablespoon of baking soda and next time I think I’ll try 1/2 tbsp instead because I feel like the taste of it is somewhat noticeable.
Yasss, my favorite! I can’t believe it you had this vid out since 2016, and I’m just now coming across it....Glad you included eggs, that’s the best part.
Please make a video on how to make Haitian macaroni & cheese. I had some when I was in Jamaica Queens and OMGOSH! I like that more then the "traditional" one.
this came out so well when i made it! thank you. the amount of flour was good for 2 pate kode so i had to double. i added some other ingredients and it was awesome! merci!
Island Vibe Cooking .." Key Food" supermarket in New York has it. 10 comes in a pack. There's a white and orange empanadas dough. I usually use the white one. I add ground beef and grated chedder cheese as the filling. You can see the image on Google and on youtube. I hope that helps!
I made this and it tasted bland...Maybe I did something wrong, but the dough came out flakier than normal. My mom says there's too much baking soda in it. The sides separated while I was trying them....
hiii i try the pate kode cuz im haitian but where i am they dont sell pate kode. but my love the baking soda was 1 tbs but when i was done i went to taste my delicious pate kode it taste good but 1 tbs of baking soda was to much it taste only the baking soda but the filling was good.
This recipe ruined my pates. You added too much baking soda. I don’t if you meant 1 teaspoon instead of 1 tablespoons, but 1 tablespoon was way too much.
Pastry dough would've been great if only one thing ... WHY DID YOU USE BAKING SODA AND NOT MAKE IT CLEAR THAT ITS BAKING POWDER ... ruined my dish after spending hours prepping
You gotta sharpen your knife and hide your FINGERS WHEN YOU CUT! THATS SO SCARY HOW YOU DO IT. U CANNUSE THE BOTTOM OF a mug to sharpen. A sharp knife is a safe knife. Just need good knife skills. No sliding all over.
Use fresh ingredients only. You need probiotics in your life and don't swallow so much air when you eat and drink. Small bites and closed mouth when chewing! Don't leave in fridge too long. 4 days max for leftovers. Watch out for eating bacteria by being clean in the kitchen and food handling practices- temp etc.
This recipe did not work well for me. Could barely work with the dough. The pate ended up bitter, inedible. The video said 1 tablespoon of baking soda...that’s either too much or the wrong ingredient.
This is definitely pate kode. Your classic Haitian pate is made with phillo dough for the layers and flakiness. And they only have meat in it. A small pocket of meat(chicken, beef, smoked herring)
Can you do a video on stocking a Haitian pantry? All the essentials needed to start cooking Haitian food.
Lol
Just epices
Bell peppers and onions
Haitians are the best why did I say that cause I am one
Felix Charles Amen!!!!
You are not Haitian but the TRIBE OF LEVI.
Haitian for life. I'm one too

Yes the baking soda was too much and made the dough taste bitter 😢

I will be making this but I plan on using " Goya Disco Empanada" dough. Some supermarkets have it in the freezer section.

You can keep it for like 2 hours

Can I do this without baking soda?
Yes
You need the baking soda for lighter and flakier cooking just use less ( can’t do without)🙏🙏🙏
@@jamesleyinnocent5171if you want rocks. Use 1teaspoon not tablespoon

Is there a alternative to the hot dogs? Love the recipe.
+Aquarian Nailz it's up to you it doesn't have to have hotdogs in.
You can use whatever you want. It's meat. Pick a meat or a vegetable and adjust. Have fun with cooking! Make recipes your own! Good luck.

Probably because of the herring. You don't have to use it. Most people don't.
Soak the herring, drain, squeeze. Adjust!
Maggi? We need to stop using maggi forever.
