- Exploring the western side of New York, I go up to The Thousand Islands and explore Boldt Castle. Then I make my way down to Niagara Falls to see what the New York side of the water falls look like. From there I go south and end up at Eternal flame which is yet another waterfall. However this water fall has a natural flame that burns inside of it.

Hey everyone, I found some more interesting places in New York. Let me know what you think! Thanks for watching
I think the next time I go to the Canada Falls- I'll have to stop on the New York side. Are you heading down here to Long Island? There's some great historic places down here. Sagamore Hill was the home of Theodore Roosevelt. The Bayard Cutting Arboretum...and more.
Joe M I definetly want to check out Long Island at some point. probably next spring/ summer.
Cool! Let me know if you do. Safe travels!
Awesome video! Are you from Cleveland?

Growing up in this area in the 1950s and 1960s, I often visited Boldt Castle in the state it was left when the work was halted. I actually played hide-and-seek in that castle, as a child.
There were huge crates nail shut, that held furnishings for the house. It was a fascinating place to explore then, then over the years watching it brought to its present glory was a beautiful thing to see. Thank you so much for highlighting this. The entire Thousand Islands area has many beautiful places, that can be explored by land or by boat. Northern New York is a great place! Thanks for visiting.
You find some of the coolest places. Always enjoy your videos and how cheerful you are.
One thing about Boldt Castle. What you saw "restored" is actually not a restoration; rather, it was a completion of the building and decor. as Boldt had planned to do so. As you mentioned, Georg (yes, Georg) Boldt was building the home for his wife who was in poor health- a true labor of love) During that time, a telegraph from him to be builders stated (to paraphrase)" Halt the construction." It is at that time that his wife had passed away, My wife first visited Boldt Castle some 20+ years ago. A very small part of the bottom floor was partially "completed." The other floors were empty lath plaster and even bare stud frames with evidence of "completion work" started. It bothered me that people were signing the walls as they were being built. (Note, builders would add their signatures before finishing up a wall..) Anyway, We returned to Boldt Castle at about the time you made this video.I was simply blown away to see that all of the first, second, and most of the third floor had been completed! I had one "profound" moment as my wife, (adult) children, and I were looking at their bedrooms. The grandeur. The "custom" utilities that Boldt was to add to it for his wife's comfort. I was about to say to my wife, "It is incredible of the thought that he put into the rooms for his wife, I wonder what it was for them to live there..." and it hit me, The rooms as we were seeing them never were for she had died before those rooms were to come into being. To me, it was humbling, very sobering, so sad and heart-breaking. It was wonderful though that the private historical preservation group were able to construct/complete what they did based on all the plans that they were able to find, to bring Boldt's vision to a reality. A true labor of love by Boldt to plan and envision it, and the Historical Society that turned it into an incredible reality. For others reading this, if you are in the Thousand Islands Region, This is certainly worth the time to visit. (Incidentally, I live a little over an hour south of the Thousand Islands just outside of Syracuse NY)
You should start a history channel!
Thank you so much for taking us with you to these fantastic places. Your eye for detail and calm voice giving info on the various things is excellent. You’ve got me hooked, I’m now going through all your posts and have subscribed 👍
For those of us unable to travel thank very much for all your hard work and the great adventures you take us on! And I appreciate how well spoken you are!!
How sad that she died before she ever got to see it. It is so beautiful there. Thank you for sharing.
This vlog was super filled with all sorts of incredible sights. You really have a gift for bringing out the beauty in the things you visit. Thank you.
Jay G M Thanks Jay!
Excellent video as always. Never been to Niagara Falls or even out in that part of the country. Sure is beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing all your travels with the rest of us
Thank you for sharing your great adventures! Taking us places where some of us would never see otherwise. You're really good at this!
Alex Bay my grandparents had a cabin there many many happy memories of island hopping, fishing for Pike, watching the ships go by, lunch on different islands, waterskiing, swimming awesome times. Ah the Castle, could never go on because they weren't done fixing it but 6years ago got to finally visit the Castle.
By the way there's another unfinished Castle somewhere around the Herkimer or Utica area sits up on a hill and never finished. Actually if you took the bus the Canada side has more to offer such as the flower clock, Whirlpool, butterfly house, etc. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you again for this incredible video, I’m traveling with you, specially during this pandemic time. Wish you the best!
Keep them coming, Mobile Instinct. You're Glorious!
Thank you, I love your videos. They are very pleasant to watch.
That rainbow is beautiful!
Your videos are better than any other exploration videos I've seen. Your narration, clarity of voice & sound, video shots and editing are superb. I have really been enjoying your videos. Great job and thank you.
This one is becoming one of my favorites, just beautiful!
Looks very peaceful.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. I most likely will never get to these places but you give us the opportunity to kinda be there 😊
Amazing view. Awesome home ! The stone work. Thanks for sharing places I may never have the chance to see. I thank you !
Wow! Incredibly unique & beautiful! The castle.
I like your style young man. Keep up the great work!
The Niagara Falls are so breathtaking, That little waterfall was so cute and it was so wild that in that wet environment you can light the methane gas and the flame will just happily burn. Awesome, thanks. x
Another great video. Can't wait to watch all of the. Thanks for sharing.
such an underrated channel
Not so often that old ruins are restored back to their full glory, especially those that have been abandoned for more than 70 yrs. Big round of applause for the state to undertake such a project, or even consider it.
How amazing !
Thanks for sharing with us.
Fantastic place and the beautiful surroundings to explore. Thank you for taking time to provide details on the history of where you're visiting...really adds to the experience as a viewer. Another wonderful video and a must stop on my next visit East.
Being from the area, I recommend the Dinner Night Cruise with the Castle all lit up. Also he missed the Boat House part of his scouting around.
Lol, you would be the crazy one climbing up the bridge. Great video. I watched a few from you tonight and subbed. Mt Saint Helens was my first video, followed by the man that live a jet. Then Mr Rogers, that ending clip brought a tear to my eye. And now this one. You do great work and bring these places into our lives with joy. Thank you and God bless and stay safe.
I never knew about those islands at thew falls.
Another good one. Keep cranking them out.
thanks for showing us the beautiful of NY's Niagara Falls and Bolt Castle. I have been to both but not in years. They are incredible!
I was there in the mid 70's. None of the work to complete it had been done at the time. Everything was exactly as the workmen had left it. Poignant! I was also interested to see the pumphouse. it had been completed and was in use, but had burned when a firework had flown over the river and landed on the roof during a July the 4th celebration. When I saw it, there was a tree growing up through the tower. I'd love to visit it again!
When my brother and I were little our mother took us there for a week and the castle was just beginning it’s restoration process and I remember her foot went through a step going upstairs this place is so beautiful and the whole 1000 island 🏝 and st Lawrence seaway is just amazing!
Thanks Chris ...more great CONTENT !!!
Absolutely gorgeous!
I'm glad they saved it.
Thank you Thank you or the tour of America. Can't travel like you but you make it possible. I just found you today.
Thank you so much 🔭🌍🌃 What an awesome view🌅, so beautiful 🌞 everything is 🌾
I love the immediate correction from climbed to walked. Like he went back through when editing like "you're being overly dramatic buddy." Lol
Those flowers by the waterfall is beautiful!! I wonder what kind they are.
Kewl. I live on the Canadian side of the 1000 Islands. We have a cruise that leaves my city and stops off there. Been in there myself, though I don't think I seen everything. I may have to take the cruise again sometime. Nice to see you went a little further north.
Wow-I’m originally from upstate New York and plan to go visit this summer. I think I will put this place on my list of places to go. Thanks for the great video! I really enjoy your channel!
Reminds me quite a bit of Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, PA. That and the Mercer Museum, also built by the same person are pretty incredible pieces of architecture to see. There are occasionally, special tours of Fonthill, so plan your visit, should you decide to go there.
Dude that methane was LIT...(erally!)
Excellent video, with some fantastic views
My family has a cottage on the 1000 Islands! I went to Boldt Castle in 2009 and it’s very beautiful!
I'm slowly watching all past content, great ch exiting places.. cA
Other than all the people pollution it's so beautiful. The flame in the rocks though, just wow.
Thank you for the best video ever seen because I'll never get a chance to see this in person...
Ah, miss NY and the Falls. That was a cool place for a flame.
I'm from the Buffalo Niagara area and have never seen the eternal flame, but I've explored Niagara Falls and the gorge and Chestnut Ridge extensively before I went back over the road trucking. Thx for your videos 😊
I am on Ottawa guy now living in Saskatoon. #davehughes recommended your channel. Great to see a vlogger from my own backyard.
The Steaming Bean Hey, thanks for checking out my channel!

Hello ! Hugs from Brasil ! Your videos are sensational ... Thank you very much.
Your videos helped me a lot in a very difficult period when I was sick.
Your content is very cool ... hugs thanks
Terrific find.
Hey, Thousand Islands, you were right near me, I'm up in Ontario! Never been inside the castle, but I've been past it on boat cruises
As for Niagara Falls, I was going to try to convince you to visit the Canadian side, but I'm gonna be honest; its so touristy, you were far better off on those little islands at the top of the falls :P
I remember coming to that castle. I took a boat under that bridge you were on. I'm assuming you did too lol. here it was technically my first abandoned location lol. the methane waterfall is something else, soo odd. thanks for sharing this bud
journey_with _jay That waterfall is incredible. Never seen anything like it
boldt caste is a castle. the "power house" (still bigger than most homes) is a miniature caste .
Chris man, you are such a handsome and amazing guy. I love you and your videos!! 💖
That waterfall is so cool
A Poison Pie I've never seen anything like it!
Beautiful video. Like.
Love these videos!
The flame in the rocks was really weird but flaming awesome!
+TMNT FOREVER Haha I definitely never saw anything like that before
You're not supposed to blow the flame out.....
That is so cool ! I love your videos
6:13 "atrocious wiring"... what's funny is I just had to replace a couple light switches in my 92-year-old grandmother's house a couple months ago, and this was the exact quality of that wire... degraded, dirty cloth insulation... better than knob-and-tube I guess!
Love your vlog,
I wanted to visit this place then corona hit. Hopefully, I can see it sometime soon.
Good stuff!!!!
in the 70,s the power house was just ruins. Bolt castle looks nothing like it did in the 70,s much of the structures where, in ruins. It was truly amazing to see back then. Yes, Uncle Sams boat tour ran back then. All building stopped tools where left, where they where last used . The weather and vandeles helped in the deteriation of Bolt castle. The proceeds from the visitors to hart Island allowed the rebuilding, It was Rebuilt with Historacle accuracy . Including many of the contents.
Niagara Falls is really cool. I’ve also been there myself.
Been to Niagara Falls Canada many times. I live 2hrs away from there
Love the videos 🤘
How at your age did u find love for history
Another good past YT clip, MI Christ.
On Niagara Falls, have you ever watched the old movie with Marilyn Monroe and William Holden starred in it? It was a really good story.
Love bolt.
This was a great video homey
Another good video, thank you. Pity about that sprawl of deeply ugly buildings which scar the beauty of the Falls on the Canadian side.
..matches the city, really. The falls may be nice, but don't go there without hobo-stabbing insurance.
this is my backyard growing up its crazy how many people know about gaslight falls
My new favorite u tuber
My favorite part of the area is TED's!!!
I've been in Boldt Castle while on a camping trip and Chestnut Ridge is in my area.
U could no doubt hear me telling u to hold your cajones.. LOL
I hate heights but that was so beautiful 😍😍😍 that castle was so awsome
Michael Rhoades I'm not normally but that bridge was pretty high haha
Has Jon Levi seen this?
Good gravy bro!
My name is on a wall somewhere in there. Did it back in the mid-sixties on a trip with my mom. One day I'll have to go back and erase it.
I was just at bolt castle last summer might be going back again this summer not sure yet
I love your video s dont stop
I did that when I was there. You would think it would of been loud. It's powerful though.
Glad I subscribed! Stay safe!
The fire behind the waterfall would have been such a sign from god back in the stone age days, they could keep coming back to the same area and get fire lol
I believe it was on Goat Island where the Republic of Canada was started in 1838.
I love this place I want there when I was a kid my great grandfather carved his name in way cement in the main castle
One of the islands in the St.Laurence is actually part of France.
Yeoman - I heard something about this before but I can’t find anything about it. Isn’t 6 months it belongs to I think Canada the other 6 months it belongs to France.
@@peterv1318 Saint Pierre and Miquelon it's off the coast of Newfoundland :-) Peace
Jimiplayscobo - still considered Canada.
@@peterv1318 Your welcome
@1:55 the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC was already built by that time.
The powerhouse looks like the customs house in Brugge.
I grew up here! On the Canadian side, his chef invented 1,000 Island dressing for his daughter. Bolt was grief stricken when his wife died. Very interesting. There was a huge house boat that they lived on and then sank. Rand McNally retorted it. Why you are showing Niagara Falls...it has nothing to do with the 1,000 Islands on the St. Lawrence!
I'm so bored in N Phoenix. If you discover anything ofv interest out here I would like to come !! A haunted mansion would be cool, anything. 👍
