Mobile Instinct actually you have to have a permit to do the graffiti. It is constantly changing. The Art council over sees the alley and permits. www.artalleyrc.com
Hey I love your videos and also you're a pleasure to look at as well :-) I would love to travel and see something amazing with you sometime...I live in Florida
I don't know who was more adorable, you or those prairie dogs. I say both! Their adorableness is mirrored in your face as you watch and talk about them. I love when your face is expressive when you are talking about something that pleases you and makes you happy.
I lived in W. Berlin from 1973-1975. I was a 17yr old new military wife married to an M.P. in the Army. He worked at some very historic places, one being Checkpoint Charlie. I visited him once and was able to go upstairs in a building with binoculars and watch the guards in the East tower across from me. He was also watching me. He was a young guy so I waved at him a little and when I looked back he looked very threatening and he had his gun ready. Talk about chills! I went back down into the Checkpoint. We used to go up to the wall and take pics. At some "crossing spots" there where memorials and flowers for the people who didn't make it across. My husband told me that every time we stood near the wall there were guns aimed at us. It was very different than it is now. So serious. Some of the old German people would glare at us Americans. Luckily I usually had my little baby with me and they would smile. Anyway, I'm loving your videos. Stay safe. You sure put yourself in perilous situations but your videos are so fascinating and awesome! Gale
7:18 and 7:51 are from Chamberlain, SD don't know if you stopped by the rest stop there but it has one of the most breathtaking views of the Missouri River. I like you videos and I find it interesting that you focus on some of the "hidden gems" thanks stopping by our state come back again soon!
I was born and raised in SD. When I was a kid we climbed around on that dinosaur tail. There wasn’t a fence or any prohibition of it. So cool to see it again!
You're a really well spoken dude, and a great story teller. I've been binging your channel for the past few days. Great stuff! I'd love to take a month or two and do what you're doing. Very inspiring
Chris your videos r soo very interresting. You do a good job of describing the sites. You r not boring n you don’t try to be funny all the time. That is refreshing. L do like a sense of humor but not stupid stuff. I look forward to more travels.
The Bad Lands are amazing ! I agree also that some Graffiti is very artistic. but I am an old person HA HA who enjoys it ! Because it amazing that the young people who do it are really fabulous at it !! Your doing a great job Chris !
Did you get to see Wall Drug? One of the biggest "drug stores" ever! I've been there a few times, the first time about 1967 or so. It was packed wall to wall (pun intended) with people. I don't think they had built the dinosaur yet though. Oh, and the prairie dogs live in "prairie dog towns", not farms. 🤣
Don't you fall down into that hole, Chris! My fear is you falling through a floor, into a deep hole or having a cave in. Be careful. Big hugs are sent your way.
Another winner, Chris! I live in the SE corner of ND-- not far away from Rapid City. It might be worth a trip to see and touch that piece of the Berlin Wall. Thanks..
Great video. I used to live in that area when I was kid. Badlands/Black Hills are my favorite places. I like your demeanor/presentation compared to a lot of other videos I've recently watched that were made in that area.
I never touched the Berlin Wall but I rem mover when it was torn down. I was 24. Hey, in your travels, have you seen the state's at Fredrik Meijer Gardens? It's not far from me, in Grand Rapids, MI. There's a 50ft tall bronze horse, a spider, shout as tall, complete with egg sac (walk under it, between its legs!), a giant shovel, & more. The children's garden gas a giant beaver. It's been a while since I've toured the gardens. I usually visit in April, when the butterflies are hatched in their butterfly house. Gorgeous butterflies from Africa & Asia. It's in the city, so you can get a bite to eat afterwards! Lol!
I never knew there was a place called Badlands, and i can see why they call it that. I can't imagine on building houses or anything on that weak ground. it kinda looked like sand. the guy walking the skeleton of t Rex was really neat. I also didn't know pieces of that wall was saved. thanks for sharing. keep up the great work bud.
Yeah its an interesting land for sure. I believe robbers and criminals used to hide out down in there. Probably not the safest of places to be back then. Yeah man that skeleton was just on the side of the road. There is some amazing "road art" out that way
Your adventures are do cool and interesting! I'm late to the party because I just discovered your vlogs recently and most seem to be about a year old now, but really timeless in a way. A person could look on these many years from now and they would still be of interest! Great Job!
I like watching your videos on old abandoned places but I also love these vlog type of videos too, where you’re stoping at places along the way and you’re showing video of the drive itself. It helps us picture where you’re at. Please start including that kind of stuff in all your videos. You’re videos are nice showing the old places, but please also show the drive to the places, show the road side attractions on the way to the old place or the pretty drive you take to get there Anyway, thank you.
I live in rapid city and that Berlin memorial is just down the street from my house, some really nice places here and at art alley it used to be a place that was open to anybody to paint but now there's permits even when you were there people had to get a permit
I live in Rapid City, S.D. and the city sanctioned that section of alley ways for the purpose of Urban Artwork. It started when the city decided to "Rejuvenate" our downtown scene and during the summer we have a one night festival every Thursday from June to August, it's called the Summer Nights Festival. It allows tourists the chance to see the artwork as they Cris-cross back and forth to the separate streets on either side that will be filled with Food Vendors, Beer Tents ,people selling Native American Jewelry and other trinkets with a Live Bands playing in the streets. But everyone here in Rapid knows that Art Alley is open to the public and most people that hang out down there are the hipsters, the homeless and the local artists. Lol, those people were probably watching you record in the alley out of curiosity. We don't have a whole lot of people in our little town that make videos for youtube. :D
I'm watching all your videos chronologically so I don't know if you have already been there, but if you like the badlands you'll love Bryce Canyon in Utah.
In the late 90’s we had an exchange student from Germany and after she went home she mailed us a piece of the wall, so we actually have a piece of the wall in our house 🤣
I remember awhile back the Chinese or Japanese (*edited to add that it is the Japanese) just loved prairie dogs and wanted them for pets. It was quite the rage. And there was a rumour that after a few people got bit they found a new delicacy and that prairie dogs tasted good. archive.seattletimes.com/archive/?date=19990327&slug=2951755
I echo the compliments below of lilmisscostumedrama. Like Long Distance telephone in ads of the 60s, you're "the next best thing to being there!" BTW a young graffiti artist told me 'heaven spot' is the term for perilous sites where to fall might kill you.
Been watching your videos for a while never seen this one before. Kinda weird to see a video where you are a couple hundred feet from the place I went to highschool.
Making my way through South Dakota. So much to see here! Thanks for watching. Let me know what you think !

South Dakota, home sweet home. Nice vid!
ChiselMouse Thanks man. It's a beautiful state. More to come!

Thanks for this specific vlog, it is a good combination of real things. The music on your riding sceneries was a real refreshing one. 👍

Wow! Great video.......thanks for showcasing my home state that most people consider fly over country.......
Don't you fall down into that hole, Chris! My fear is you falling through a floor, into a deep hole or having a cave in. Be careful. Big hugs are sent your way.
The praire dogs are so cute and they obviously don't mind people.
Awww this was a supercute episode (I need to catch up,I'm four months behind) I feel like we are on the journey with you! You seem like a decent chap.
Another winner, Chris! I live in the SE corner of ND-- not far away from Rapid City. It might be worth a trip to see and touch that piece of the Berlin Wall. Thanks..
Jay, it was amazing to be able to see and touch that piece of history!

Except for the "prairie dogging" part. That part made me want to gouge out my mind's eye.
Haha I couldn't pass up that opportunity : )

Awesome!💕😎

Your voice is so soothing! It’s insane!
I remember seeing the Berlin wall come down on t.v. I was 3 yrs old when it happened.
You know the badlands got it's name from the bad guys liked to hide out in there, next to your house. 😄
I'm watching all your videos chronologically so I don't know if you have already been there, but if you like the badlands you'll love Bryce Canyon in Utah.
you should go see the dinosaurs and footprints at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Tx.
So Cute another gr8 vid love watching u 😊
We went through there about 20 years ago now and it’s so obvious why they are called the bad lands 😀
So cute 🥰❤️❤️
In the late 90’s we had an exchange student from Germany and after she went home she mailed us a piece of the wall, so we actually have a piece of the wall in our house 🤣
You should have stopped at Wall Drug and shown it. Very interesting place.
I got wicked vertigo when you were hiking on top of those mountains
Good stuff. Get your arse over to Europe, I would like to see your opinion and take on our history!
Grass Staggers Haha I definitely will !
Grass Staggers yeeesss! We've got sooooooo many abandoned treasures and sightseer treasures!
Killer. Been through Rapid City SD aor alkeynnd didn't know the wall were there. I'll do it for certain next time. Thanks
They seem very friendly and used to people.
When you come to New Mexico, hike the Tent Rocks area.
OMG, Can you bring me a prairie dog?
Joe M. I thought about grabbing one for myself!
I remember awhile back the Chinese or Japanese (*edited to add that it is the Japanese) just loved prairie dogs and wanted them for pets. It was quite the rage. And there was a rumour that after a few people got bit they found a new delicacy and that prairie dogs tasted good.

I've been to Wall Drug it's an awesome place
I was there, back in the late 50's or early 60's. If you haven't been to Wall Drug, check them out.
Prairie dogs can be a pain - horses can be injured by stepping in their holes and they do a lot of damage to homes/property - but yes, they ARE cute.
I echo the compliments below of lilmisscostumedrama. Like Long Distance telephone in ads of the 60s, you're "the next best thing to being there!" BTW a young graffiti artist told me 'heaven spot' is the term for perilous sites where to fall might kill you.

I'm surprised that there aren't bobcats around with all those prairie dogs.
Coyotes, eagles, hawks and other predators do a pretty good job preying on the prairie dogs
I enjoy your video,s very much.
The badlands will tear your hands up.
Yeah, prairie dogs are cute until they get on your property 🤨 then they lose that cute real quick
You should have stopped in Wall Drug & got fresh, warm donuts 🍩
love ur videos bro....but dude u need to be careful....i seen u in some ur videos...ur always stumbling around...u might fall in a hole...LOL
You're very cool Chris.
My one year old pup loves this video. She really enjoyed the groundhogs!
Your dog isn't a human
@@golddustwoman4993 Which makes it even more amazing!
Where do I buy one?
how many miles are on your truck as of replying to this comment
They all seem kind of chubby! :)
Ever done any filming in North Dakota?
Rapid city at the beginning was home to the strategic air command nuclear bomber fleet. during the cold war.
Wow that Dino looks scary 🙄
I believe that you are the very talented at what you are doing. In fact your better than Lamont.
I had touched the Berlin Wall in Berlin in 1987...
I been there
They're so cute but they carry the plague.
I know the videos are not the only way you make your living, so what do you do to make money? 3/23/2019
Who else came to look for pee wees big adventure comments
Give them a real snack ,cheap skate.
