Here in the UK we have 4 main networks - EE, 3, Vodafone & O2. Three of these network operators operate their own sub brand which is wholely owned by them. O2 - giffgaff Vodafone - voxi 3 - smarty These sub brands are a lot cheaper than the main brand even though they are fully owned by the main network operators. There is a lot of other real mvno's here in the UK who are independent of the main operators - they just bulk buy network capacity and sell to the general public at a cheaper price.
