I need to know if you can make a formula that looks at specific content from within a cell, while ignoring other content. I make a schedule for a tv station and we have shift information in one cell within a row that's for a specific employee. From this information, I make a grid-style schedule without the extra data that just has an employee's name adjacent to a shift time without accompanying superficial detail. Difficult to describe. May need to send a pdf to explain what I want to do. The end result is I want my grid to complete itself based on formulas in each one of its cells that equals specifics in two other cells in the same worksheet.
Question, can I use this if I am trying to create a document that would return a value when a text is recognized?? Example if on cell c2 you find the word test a value of $20.00 should appear instead of try or false,
great video! can if state ment be used to check highest value then copy it automatically and place some where else?eg date 1 3 2 2 8 date 0 1 3 2 6 the formula will copy 8 plus the entire row and place it somewhere else

Thanks! It can, but you must first place that IF statement in the place where you want the value to appear or you must use a macro to do it.
