Here is a brief overview of middleware
Middleware is software that is used to bridge the gap between applications and operating systems. Middleware sits between an operating system and applications that run on it to provide a way of communication and data management. This is best for applications otherwise they wouldn't have any way to exchange data with software tools and databases.
Basically, middleware works as a hidden translation layer that connects diverse technologies, tools and databases so that you could integrate them seamlessly into a single system. A single system then provides a unified service to its users.
