      The act of the slap is meant as no disrespect for Mr Washington nor his family and friends, but it is to simply recognize the chain reaction and legacy it set off, when one door was close and he opened another door to create his own phenomenon, Long live the legends of Mr Munson, and Mr Washington!

    Great history, especially the Raymond Washington exchanges and the old, weathered yearbook with him in it. And then you have the Avenues as the FOREBEARER of the Crips. Deep history. And the fact that Raymond Washington was sort of bullied in a test of might, then formed his own group which would perpetrate the same things and also start targeting those emulating the black panthers with the jackets is a great insight into the complexity of Raymond Washington as a man. Kev Mac has outdone himself.

      Indeed! Maybe this will prove what I been teaching about the Crip/Panther leather jacket connection. i been arguing with Jimmy Lavendar about that for years on this forum and this is more proof. Moon stated they don’t know that connection but Crips do know that! That’s who told me! AC denied all connection to the BPP but that is because of his mostly non political perspective at that age. Craig, Bulldog Bennie and Black Dog were among the triple OGs who were like ‘baby Panthers’ mentally speaking. Monster Kody himself connected Kenny Carter to the Crips like I also argued about with Jimmy. There seems to be a blur at the age of Raymond/Kenny with being Avenues and/or Crips and how Raymond hung with a Munson brother too.

      @troubleman3837 3 года назад +9

      and the "I am Raymond Washington" book says it was supposed to be his brother. So there are at least 3 or more versions out there who supposedly the crippled one was. Maybe one day, when he thinks the time is right, or as part of a bigger project, kev mac will drop the true and undeniable version on us, by bringing someone on who tells us how it really was, with authority, with no room for interpretation.
      maybe it's the munson interview that will end all discussion. Or maybe it will just offer and alternative version. It's definitely going to be great

    • @indicastrain4127
      @indicastrain4127 3 года назад +3

      @@troubleman3837 I could swear in that book (or could be Tookies book) it says he considered "Snoopies" as a name for his new gang. That seems kinda off to me since it was the Smacks on the West Side who had played around with the name Snoopies before eventually deciding on calling themselves Smacks. That came from the shirts they were wearing at the time with Snoopy on the shirt getting smacked by Lucy I believe. So it would have been an odd choice of a name for Raymond to consider given he wasn't a Smack.

    I wonder if Raymond "limping" was them imitating Victor Adams...
    I know often, family and outsiders don't understand the inner workings of why friends do what friends do.
    According to my immediate family I was cool calm and collected. The homies would tell you a different story.
    A.c being there in the beginning would understand more of why they did what they did and when. I would even dare to say probably even more than some family members. Obviously I wasn't there and this is all a theory, but if you add the pieces up, A.C continues to be one of the more credible sources when it comes to times, places and dates.
    He states it was late 1969, which would make sense why Craig didn't hear much about them, he got booked in 70. Raymond pretty much took over Avenue territory

      I always heard it was a page out of the Black Panthers book but it stood for.
      C. Community
      R. Revolution
      I. In
      P. Progress
      And I've heard it all. don't sound to far fetch when you think about it. The Panther party was being dismantled by the FBI in the late 60s. If you think about it, makes sense..the panthers may have been broke up but the movement was still alive. IDC who the first crip in history was it doesn't matter... What i do know is this, this person just didn't wake up one morning in 197?? Whatever and i say ok i wanna be a CRiP and wear blue and the ultimate goal is to make people i don't like call themselves BLOODS and wear red flags and now we can kill eachother. You'll never get me to believe that one. Panthers were about Community taking care of our own, fighting back against the system i believe they started the wic program. Imagine that. also image Nixon starting the war on drugs which was really war on blacks. fast forward 16 years later between 9- 16 years anyway.. Nancy Reagan telling us "JUST SAY NO" while her husband is pushing cocaine out the backdoor to the streets of LA to be distributed in the streets by both gangs all to fund the Contras in the Nicaraguan war. That's what they call killing 2 birds with 1 stone.. Don't ask Oliver North that though..all you'll get out of him is. " I do not recall that" smh. Drugs were always the problem in every decade that's how they killed us, locked us up, and turned us on eachother. Crips and Bloods were about anything good before it turned bad and wasn't about Colors or territories. RIP Gary Webb. Committed suicide by 2 shotgun shells to the back of the head.. Smh... The revolution will be live!!

      Mr. King Bobalouie is the oldest (former) Crip to go on record, long before KMV was popular, and explicate at length the formation and propagation of Crip throughout LA. Without him, we would have likely never heard of Victor Adams, who some claim was an Avenue, or names like Don Juan, Fernando, etc. I think the only time he acknowledged a potential error in his testimony, was in relation to Mr. Craig Monson being bullied by Mouton.
