- some R&B songs from the 70s. I was listening to Bobby Caldwell and I NEEDED to make a mix with his "My Flame" song so I made this up really fast, I basically just went through my ipod and picked the first 10 songs i knew were from the 70s and then I put them together. Anyways, hope you enjoy what you hear! :)

Hi Linda I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. I DO NOT LISTEN TO THE RADIO AS MUCH ANYMORE. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO R&B AND THE JAZZ MUSIC THAT US DETROITERS WAS USE TO HEARING BACK IN THE DAY. THANK YOU RUclips FOR ALLOWING THOSE TO POST SO MANY MEMORIES OF OLE SCHOOL JAMS THAT ARE GEMS AND NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I, AGAIN THANK YOU.
I'm 21 my Father raised me from 3 months up to 18 on his own. I remember my father would come home from work and turn his radio on 102.9 KBLX in The Bay Area The Quiet Storm with Armand and they would play all these songs, till to this day I still listen. This is REAL. Everything about it , the sound the beats the instrumentals the LYRICS RYTHMN the ARTISTS!! It’s unlike the mess my generation listens to these days. It’s REFRESHING is the word. 😂❤️❤️
Another word is SOOTHING. It is the choice we had and I regularly search for the sound in current day. I agree with the thought you expressed about today's generation.

Now this is all true music...kids take notes
You have to give back from the being you fill me
it's only right you dig.
you fill that music. RESPECT to the DJ who put this up on web.
This is music I grew up on. I sure miss those days!
This is truly the music. I am so bless to have been born in this era. Grateful to my dad and mom for playing this music. Now I play it around the house an my daughter is jamming to it. This is truly a gift of music from talented music artist. Jah bless the 70s
My children endured this music as they grew up because it's what I grew up with. Now they enjoy it although today's rap and more is also in their ears.

27 years grew up on this music.. i love it to this day..
+Lavonda Harper old dusty ass lol
What can I say that hasn't already been said ?? Isn't it so special when you find exactly where you're supposed to be !! Most of us know that this was basically the Soundtrack to the best times of our lives !! It's nice to know that even though we might be strangers we connect through these wonderful memories that will always belong to US !!!
J5. I'll be there, such a relaxing, loving song!
damn got me on the first song.... car wash. super fly.... gets the girl in the end... then Mr Al Green... they do not make music like this anymore, no soul, no heart, no sexy... I wish I could go back and relive those days... 55 years old but still 19 years young when I hear this music..Music ruled my soul...
and then you hit me in the end with Teddy, if you don't know me by now and Always and forever heatwave... Damn... give a brother a break man, you are killing me...
Gord Merritt
I couldn't agree with you more Gord, these were the Jams back in the days
Gord Merritt It's not mainstream nor pop - but there's plenty of soul, heart, and downright sexy music out there. You gotta get hip to it, man. It ain't on the radio
Gord Merritt I said the same thing about the first song, damn! No they don't make soulful music like this anymore. I tried listening to the new stuff on Sirius because of my adult children, and most of today's stuff is hardcore. No heart, no soul, and definitely too much sex outright for it to be sexy! Almost 50 and right there with ya', Music ruled my soul!
Greg Santilli where can we find it??? Don't keep the secret to yourself...it's meant to be told. lol
Great music and singers from the 70's. Music with a voice and full of Soul!

much respect to you. As a child of the 60's myself
Hey both of u r far and few between its so nice to hear good feedback on what is truly beautiful music Im 50 years old I love this music!
THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL MUSIC, AFTER A HARD DAY OR THINGS ARE JUST DAMN, THIS IS IT
I agree
I surely agree also, best of the best music to most certainly enjoy and then some🥰😍😘🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶❤️💜☀️🌈🙏🥳🤩💃💃💃🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶👍👍👍
Truthfully, "this is it" for all day(s) into the evening.
love bobby, the guitars slides and hammer ons are so soulful. i loved that big sampled it in the sky is the limit. the reason why us producers sample music from this era is because there is nothing like it today!!
No autotune just pure raw vocal talent.
This music is the best, when times were so different and music meant something, special era no doubt!
As a teen in the early 70's and in a soul & funk band we played most of theses songs, good memories
+Papo Taino me 2 love it
Gord Merit I AGREE WITH YOU!!! I have a 21yo daughter which likes modern heavy metal AND when she does listen to it i make her wear headphones as......that kind of music has NO MEANING!!! However maybe that's why she listen's to it.... Either way the music from late 50's till late 80's was AWSOME!!!! :-)
These songs proves, " music soothes the beast."
Who are you calling a beast?
DaOrigTruthSeeker thats what he calls his cock.
I love R&B oidies
I so love this stuff you never get tired of it and it all sounds different I dnt care who you are 70s greatest music ever great tunes to dance to great time to be a teenager music had meaning so did life
This is true R&B! I think today's mainstream stuff can't be classified as R&B. There is no soul in it anymore. The last of true R&B music, stylistically, died in the 90s. Today's version is Hip Hop/Pop infused, overly produced, auto-tuned crap. Now there are R&B artists out there, but are not mainstream because they aren't the crap that is pushed today (but stylistically it goes back to the 60s and 70s). We need to get back to the soul of it all, we need the tender love songs and the songs that make us want to form a "Soul Train Line" and just have a great time!
there is no mistake in that
I keep reading comments about young people not knowing about this music...then teach them. Take the time to let them listen to YOUR music instead of theirs. And if they don't want to hear it, make them listen to it anyway, (they'll thank you later). Love & Happiness
grapas100 - yes start them off very young! I was born in 1996 but I have a very old soul... my grandmother was a DJ in NY, so I was always around all kinds of music... there’s no limit to music.... if it makes you move
Right the hell on!
Great selection. So much magic and love in those songs.
Truly my kind of music..wish that I can turn back the hands of times..
this is when music was music, I don't what's going on now this music now!
I love all your bad ass oldies you have such a EXCELLENT COLLECTION. I use to have all these records but when i left my ex I only took My kids me & the clothes on our backs so he said i forfited them, we are Friends Now. oh ISLEYBROTHERS BEST CONCERT EVER THEY SOUND THIS GOOD 4 REAL
[Verse 1: K-Rino]
Each day, these demons increase hate
Your freedom is replaced with racist police states
This countries a lit fuse, unfixable issues
They playing by sick rules, authority misused
Preparing for something, weak women and punk men
The law mans killing your friend, quit filming and jump in
See that's why the heat's hot, because unified, we're not
Got 50 people scared to save their partner from 3 cops
It's like we got no shot, bow down to them, hope not
It's part of a slow plot to control us like robots
And leave you unconscious and feed you that nonsense
To keep you mentally preoccupied with that dumb shit
Like who's the best dressed mates, which star got the best place
Which rapper and his girlfriend just dropped a new sex tape
But one day your brain will blow and straight up insane you'll go
The day they came to know that true reality ain't a show
[Chorus: K-Rino]
You're living in the House of the enemy, murder, no sympathy
Mind manipulation, mischannelling your energy
Peace can't happen separation is the remedy
You're living in Satan's house thinking that the rent is free
House of the enemy, murder, no sympathy
Fear of the slave whip lodged in your memory
God's about to bring down this entire industry
Living in Satan's house thinking that the rent is free
[Verse 2: K-Rino]
If your little gun's able to actually save you
See they let have those but you don't got the ones they do
It's bad cause you don't know and won't till your dome blow
You're bragging about your pistol when these devils got drones bro
They passed passed a new law where they can run in your residence
And apprehend you with no probable cause or no evidence
Slowly sewing your town up, don't care if you're frowned up
And as we speak they're setting up camps for the round-up
No chance when it's time to go, I promise it's coming bro
And now you're in the new United States of Guantanimo
The signs are openly being shown gotta notice these
Slowly American streets are looking like overseas
Locally the police are trained like the soldiers be
Exploding heat and won't stop until they make your ghost release
Innocent people are jeopardized when there's weapon rised
Devils got the best disguise so you can't recognize them with your naked eyes
[Chorus: K-Rino]
[Verse 3: K-Rino]
In this Hell zone, there's no one to tell on
You voluntarily place everything in your cell phone
Internet fiends jack, your actions they scream black
So when you posted pictures of your drugs, they seen that
They know what you're thinking like, they know what excites you
They study what you type then they project what you might do
Night, morning and afternoon, folks dying from battle wounds
And screaming that you know your rights that shit ain't gon' matter soon
Don't care if you're dropping facts, kill that, better watch your back
They'll snatch you up and nobody gonna know where they got you at
And soon they'll be proving it, they're hiding a slew of shit
A shadow government and every president knew of it
From Jefferson to Roosevelt to Wilson to Kennedy
Said America was governed by invisible entities
Who seek to use us as pawns, it's bigger than busting guns

Funny you should say that. Come my next cookout...I'm gonna play nothin' but 60s, 70s, 80s and (to a certain point) 90s music. I wanna do this as both as a tribute to those who are either still alive, or no longer with us, to my peers (I'm 45 years old by the way) and finally to let the newbies know how old school used to kick it.
Great Job!!
I'm fairly young to the people I see in the comments but I was raised with an amazing mother who loves playing oldies and relaxing with a beer or two(father no longer in picture(no sympathy pls) and it made me love oldies don't get me wrong I listen to today's music and I can like it but when I hear a good older song it just feels amazing (I'm 16 for those who are curious)
I'm 12 and I love old school especially 70s

Music affects the minds hearts and spirits of men/women. Romance respect community and confidence were just a few influences that old school sound had on society and life in general.today this madness they call music has its negative conformity on our youth as well...the power of music

Need help from all my knowledgable soulful brothers and sisters out there.. I was listening to the 'Quiet Storm' program Sunday night on WHUR and heard this song on the radio that blew me away. It was a man who sang it and the chorus went like: "Doing Alright.... You got your 'own' Be Thankful.. Food on the Table." I believe it had female singers in the background. Anyone know the title of the song or have a youtube link?? God Bless..
AFRO;S , BELL BOTTOM PANTS, BLUE JEANS, HIP HUGGER PANTS, HAIR PICK STICKING OUT OF HAIR, PLATFORM SHOES, RED BLACK AND GREEN SWEAT BANDS.
