ভৌগলিক দিক থেকে বাংলাদেশ বেশ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবস্থানে রয়েছে। কেননা মিয়ানমার ও ভারতের সঙ্গে দেশটির স্থল সীমান্ত রয়েছে। এই ভৌগোলিক অবস্থানের কারণেই বাংলাদেশ দক্ষিণ এশিয়া এবং দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ার মধ্যে একটি সংযোগ সেতু হিসেবে কাজ করে। আবার প্রাচ্য-পাশ্চত্যের মেলবন্ধনেরও মাধ্যম হলো বাংলাদেশ। তাই বলা হচ্ছে-আন্তর্জাতিক যোগাযোগের অন্যতম রুট বাংলাদেশ। এবার বাংলাদেশকে ব্যবহার করে সিঙ্গাপুর,থাইল্যান্ড চীন হয়ে ইউরোপে যাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা হচ্ছে। প্রশ্ন হচ্ছে কিভাবে তা সম্ভব হবে। আন্তর্জাতিক এই পথে যুক্ত হতে বাংলাদেশের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা কতটা উপযুক্ত হয়েছে। এসবপ্রশ্নসহ প্রাচ্য-পাশ্চত্যকে এক সুতোয় গাঁথার আদ্যোপান্ত নিয়ে সাজিয়েছি এবারের পর্বটি।
