I am a new LB7 owner and after hours and hours of research I have come to the conclusion that THIS is by far the FIRST thing you have to do to these trucks in order to show your DOMINANCE and PRIDE at all times!
Coming in with an EXTREMELY close second place in the MUST DO mods list is a lift pump. I chose an AirDog 4GII 100GPH with Beans Machine sump pump. SAVE THOSE INJECTORS, BOYS. Install vid coming soon.

I always love those "must do mod lists"about 75% of the time they do not include a lift pump its the dumbest shit ever theyll talk about cold air intake down pipe tune etc. And they never mention a freaking lift pump as someone who has dedicated my entire career to diesel work and performance it baffles me that people do not understand why a lift pump is so crucial in the long run it will save thousands in the future by extending the life of the CP3 pump and injectors its so stupid that its unreal it also pushes more fuel through the FICM which is cooled by fuel and helps keep everything in the fuel system cooler its absurd and people need to get their priorities straight if someone comes into my shop asking for tunes and they dont have or arent willing to purchase and install a lift pump i will refuse service because then im the bad guy when it kills the pump and or injectors

I cannot agree with you more. When I bought this truck I really didn't know much about the duramax platform or the intricacies of diesel engines in general. Since owning this LB7, I have become more well versed with the LB7 platform. 1 month into owning the truck I had to put in new injectors. I did this job in my garage and it was a great opportunity to get a hands on experience with the engine. I put in new Bosch injectors along with new return lines and hardware from LDS. I then installed an Airdog 4G2 liftpump and a Beans Diesel sump pump to make sure I would get the most out of my new injectors and CP3. This is critical! When your fuel system is operating at 23k psi, it's so important to understand that having a lift pump installed will exponentially prolong the life of your fuel system. Don't forget about filter replacement intervals and to drain your water separator periodically as well.
I picked the truck up completely stock; since then she's gotten:
-New Bosch injectors from LDS
-Airdog 4g2 100 GPH lift pump
-Beans Diesel sump pump
-Upgraded turbo horn
-PPE down pipe
-5" exhaust (with hi flo muffler)
-PPE oil pan
-Edge CTS3
-EFI Live
I would recommend a a data gauge like the CTS3 or something similar. Being able to monitor all the different systems on your truck in real time is incredibly valuable and a great diagnostic tool.

I had a lb7 with the ZF6 manual transmission with only 97,000 and I got bad news from the inspector that the frame was way too far gone and that only one crossmember was holding it together

@@Rockingsworth and what makes it worse is the fact only 3 of the exact configuration the truck was from the factory was made or so I am told but long story short it was my dads truck he died my grandfather took it and used it for loading boats into the ocean and never washed but somehow the body was still perfect while the frame was completely gone

@@RockingsworthI’d do it as soon as you can. Could save you from buying a case half. Unfortunately I waited too long with mine, and although it still had fluid, the case had a pinhole worn in it.
