    Honestly the GOAT debate is pointless, how do you compare players from different eras with different rules and different technology and thus training and conditioning? Rather than wondering who is the GOAT, we should be exploring who is the GOG, i.e. the Greatest Of a Generation. George Mikan and Bob Pettit owned the 1950s, Wilt Chamberlain dominated the 1960s, Kareem the 1970s, Magic/Bird were the kings of the 1980s. Jordan was the emperor of the 1990s, Kobe of the 2000s and LeBron is the king of the 2010s.
    So to recap:
    1950s: George Mikan/Bob Pettit
    1960s: Wilt Chamberlain
    1970s: Kareem Abdul Jabbar
    1980s: Magic Johnson/Larry Bird
    1990s: Michael Jordan
    2000s: Kobe Bryant
    2010s: Lebron James

      You have an excellent point. But you still can look at all those players and come to a conclusion as to who is the all time greatest - meaning no matter what period - they had the overall best skill set so that no matter what era they played in they would be the greatest. From that perspective it is almost impossible to not consider Wilt Chamberlain the greatest basketball player of all time - the reason is that Wilt was the greatest in the three most important skills in basketball - scoring (Kareem only caught Wilt because he played longer and Wilt didn't try to score his last 7 years). Rebounds - only Russell could match Wilt.
      Blocks - only Russell and Hakeem could match Wilt - but WILT is the only person on all three of these lists and the actual leader in all three lists - PLUS Wilt was actually one of the
      fastest persons on earth, the strongest person on earth and could jump higher than almost
      everyone on earth. No just in basketball but on EARTH. It is easy to realize that if you had a team of Wilt, Kareem, Russell (Wilt Center, Kareem forward, Russell forward, Oscar Robertson
      guard and Michael Jordan guard - no team would ever beat that team. Probably wouldn't win even one game EVER.

    People don't realize that a lot of luck goes into winning a championship. You cant tell me that the 94 rockets didn't get lucky cause they did. So did the 88 lakers, 2000 and 2002 lakers, the 05 spurs, the 2010 lakers, 2015 warriors. Luck happens all the time in sports so haters need to stop discrediting the greatness of a player. Its unfair. The 91 lakers had some injuries as well. Hell even Tom brady won two of his superbowls off of two lucky plays. Haters need to stop diminishing lebrons greatness and saying he got lucky in 2013 and 2016. They need to realize that lucky plays and favorable circumstances happens a lot in sports. He is a 3x champ and 3x fmvp vs thunder, spurs, and warriors and that's that.

    • @bandedski2550
      @bandedski2550 6 лет назад

      @Orlando Martin I get that but you can build a solid team around Lebron for 35M, either get more depth or get 2 solid defensive/lethal shooters whichever way you wanna play it. The young talent is improving, Lonzo ball aint trash anymore (well its a bit early but I wish the best for him), Kuzma is still solid and Ingram is exploding. They can also keep the pieces they aquired this offseason if they work well with the system or experiment.
      Thing is Lakers got time with Lebron not moving and GSW dont got that kinda time. Durant is not a guarantee (hell he might join Lebron 😂😂), Thompson is the most likely to leave, Donkey is probs gonna want a pay check and Curry is staying, although they do have young talents so I guess they set for a few more years but the best dynasty the NBA has ever seen is nearing its end.

    THE BLOCK, the greatest defensive play in Finals history, was a moment of pure despair for me, not even being a Cleveland fan but just someone who loves a good underdog story, turned to shock and slowly mounting excitement as LBJ came out of NOWHERE to swat that thing. No seriously, where the hell did he come from? Not even the announcers were paying attention and suddenly he just swoops in like he's on the Toon Squad or something. What a moment to watch live, and the following basket by Irving only made it all the sweeter. Back-to-back clutch plays that ultimately swung the momentum their way after a gritty, scoreless 4-5 minutes. It was absolutely something special to be a part of.

      Kareem got destroyed by Wilt when Wilt was out of his prime getting off a knee surgery. IF Wilt played in the 90s where zone defense was illegal and allowed greater physical offenses than the 60s, he would have killed MJ and Shaq. Most of LeBron's moves would have been offensive fouls in the 60s.

      Well it makes sense since no other team in the league at the time was as stacked as the bulls which also paired with one of the GOAT coaches. Back then most teams only had 1 all-star in their prime while Bulls had 2 in the 1st 3-peat. Then in the 2nd 3-peat Bulls had 3 all-stars and a very good bench while most other teams only had 1 or 2 max. They were like The GSW of 90s so let's not get over ourselves (obviously Jordan was the significant reason for their dominance but it wasn't just him, his team was great).

    • @Benzene21
      @Benzene21 5 лет назад +2

      Lakers had magic and worthy. Blazers had drexler and porter. Suns had barkley and KJ. Bulls were not the most stacked team of that era. The blazers and suns, for example, had more talented players. The suns had 6 players that had been all stars at that point. Bulls only had 3, and one of them was old bill cartwright, who made the all star team back in 1980. Learn something and stop believing the narrative created by other MJ haters.

      Jordan aceraged41 ppg in 93' finals. Still the record to this day.

    • @GMALEON
      @GMALEON 5 лет назад

      Evan Fabio wrong. The only time the Bulls were stacked was in 96 (72 win bulls team). In no other season were the Bulls completely dominant. Also, many other teams were stacked, and waybetter than the Bulls. Showtime Lakers for instance. The 96 Sonics had like 5 3 pt specialists + Gary Payton (one of the greatest point guards) and Shawn Kemp, one of the greatest wingmen ever. That last team is the one that commentators, analysts, nba legends, and players of that time actually compare with the warrios of today as well as with Orlando Magic of 95' abd of 96'. Michael himself one said right after beating the knichs in the 96' east semis: "with Orlando is going to be really tough. They have players who can score from any area of the court, and possibly put up 30-40 points on any given night." Therefore they were waaay more talented than the 96' Bulls. Interesting that the Bulls ended up sweeping them! Also, The Utah Jazz, while not having as many shooters as Seattle or Orlando, did have like 3 deadly 3pt shooters, + John Stockton (one of the greatest point guards ever), and Karl Malone (an earlier version of Lebron in terms of physicality, Offense, and rebounding). The Blazers had Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter. Both Shooters, and Porters was deadly during that time as a playmaker and 3pt shooter. The 93' Suns were the least effective against the Bulls, and still they had like 4 shooters as well. The 93' Bulls struggled all yr, Michael was beung investigated by the law as well as the NBA for the gambling issue, the team Chemistry was suffering a lot, and they had 2 players that were going to retire that summer, yet the Bulls won all games played in Phoenix. Interesting. Another thing is that the Bulls NEVER had a good center, yet they dominated the paint and the outside as well. So no, the Bulls were the most stacked team only once, and they faced off two other completely and in one case even better stacked team that yr, and almost swept both. Every other yr the Bulls had to fight for everything. And while the game has gotten more loose and athletic, the defense today is almost absent, before a certain point in the playoffs every yr. Therefore, the only teams that really merit comparison to any Bulls team are the current Golden State Warriors (as stacked as they are 'cause they'd need all that talent to win any amount of games in a series against the Bulls), + teams of the 80's, particularly, the 86' Celtics, which in my opinion, and that of many eho have watched Bball for decades, are the best team ever - better than the 96 Bulls, and the 2016 Warriors.

      Part 2: season two injury and comming back to battle with management to olay the right minutes, the playoffs, playoff single game scoring record, and battle during off season to be able to play wherever ("love of the game clause").
      Part 3: 37.1 ppg in 87', best stats ever in 5 categories put together - led led 88' Bulls in all of them (rebounds, assists, points, stealsb blks), + AllStar game and regular season MVP honors.
      Part 3: 89' - 91' "Journey to the first in which he helped the Bulls beat the Showtime Lakers".
      Part 4: back to back + "The Shrug" while becoming a proto-Steven Curry in the first 24 mins of the 92' finals. Three-peat amidst illegal gambling accusations, subpoenas from people that accused him of not paying gambling debts, maintaing his team united amidst a severe drop in chemistry.
      Part 5: 95' and 96' - Comeback, double nickle in MSG - out of shape and in only his 5th game back. 20 yr standing regular season team winning record and all posible 1996 mvp honors, 4th championship in 96'.
      Part 6: 1997 reapeat of 96' type domination + endurance against fellow Dream Team teammates.
      Part 7, part 8, part 9: The Last Dance, beating the Jazz in game 6 while Pippen out half of that game with an injured back, Rodman with an injured tumb and not able to rebound as well, fatigued, and injured right index finger affecting his overall shooting. 3parts here because of all the drama, and basically the shit he and the Bulls had to go through that yr.

    2016 wasn’t “overcoming adversity”...it was a tough series but no way in hell was it this mission impossible kind of task.
    Their 6th man was literally a walking mummy and still tried to guard LeBron, their starting center blew his knee out, and Green was suspended in a pivotal game. And I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but during and after the Thunder series; Curry didn’t look the same. He looked like he never really recovered from that injury he was recovering from before the Portland series. (You could clearly tell by his jump shot. It didn’t look the same.)
    I’m just playing devils (non-biased) advocate here. If LeBron gets an excuse for 2015, that means the Warriors get an asterisk for that chip.
    So using the same logic; if the Warriors clearly weren’t 100% in 2016, why don’t they get even a slight bit of a pass? So many things had to happen in order for this “amazing comeback” to happen, and that’s just facts 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Let's correct something... in 2016... a healthy Cavs team faced a crippled Warriors team and not the "best team" of all time, as Curry the unanimous MVP was playing hurt, Iggy Lebrons main defender was also hurt and having back spasms, Boggot was out, the rim protector to spot easy layups and dunks from Lebron was hurt, and Draymon was out 1 game. So please stop over glorifying the 2016 finals as a case for Lebron to be the goat. yes all titles are not created equal, and a fully loaded cavs team beating a crippled Warriors is worth less then any of the Heat rings. He had a stacked team with 2 other allstars facing another team with 3 allstars, where the other team had a lot of hurt players. In 2015 everyone excuses him losing because his team was hurt, in 2016 everyone ignores the Warriors were hurt and treat it like he beat them at full strength. Hypocrisy.

Wilt "would" have 6 rings if he didn't lose four final game 7s by a total margin of 9 points! MJ wouldn't have 6 rings if he didn't have the most stacked defensive team in the 90s and there weren't illegal defense rules.

      El Don Chef That's funny Cavs fans kept saying that after the 2015 finals. Then they got destroyed on Christmas 2015. Their excuse changed to "well Kyrie wasn't fully healthy probably". Then they got destroyed in January dealing LeBron the worst loss of his career with Steph scoring more points than Love, Irving, and LeBron combined. Their excuse then changed to "well refs were injured... I think". Warriors were the far superior team and Cavaliers just had to cry to get Draymond suspended to even stand a chance.

    *CASE FOR NBA RUclipsR GOAT*...*NO DEBATE IT'S DOM2K*. Thank you so much for this video Dom, this was such a great series. It really felt like a short documentary. You did such a great job on this man really. Such good analysis and storytelling. LeBron's career is really like a movie and you really made this series as entertaining as possible and without being bias. All you did was talk all factual statements. Idk what else to say but seriously I don't know how much else I could praise this series it's just so great it kinda left me speechless at the end. You're so underrated and not enough people have the privalage to have discovered this amazing NBA channel. I look forward to seeing you hit 1M one day and beyond. Thanks Dom, Keep grinding and creating fun content I don't see how you couldn't do it.

      So Jordan didn’t have a top 10 defender all time in Scottie Pippen for all his Finals? He didnt have the greatest coach in NBA history with perfect role players and a system built to utilize him? Name one of LeBron’s coaches, please.

      Ouuppp Bop lebron almost got swept 4 times in the finals 2014 & 2017 only reason he didn’t get swept in 2017 is because kyrie went god mode & dropped 40 in game 4 be grateful bitch

      Dub Dueces name me an all time coach who didn’t have an amazing squad like really?
      Red - had the 50/60s dynasty hall of fame Celtics who had at least 4 different hall of famers
      Pat Riley had showtime and the 90s Knicks with mid 00s Heat
      Pop had Admiral Duncan Manu and Parker with a little Kawhi
      Phil had Kobe Jordan Shaq and Pippen
      Chuck Daly the Bad Boys
      You’re only overrated if you couldn’t win with the talent you were given.
