    It's so refreshing to see younger generation getting into priesthood and committed to teachings of Taoism. And when I say younger I really do mean that, I'm such a fan of chee tong like, he's so Gen Z and the things he says, the way he says it so relatable and the way he explains things it's really as if described by a college kid - both enlightening and fun.

    If People really want a good life, then do as much good as you can, and don't ask for rewards. Whatever kind of life you live, it is greatly linked to how much merits and how much evil you do, so don't blame others too.
    If you don't deserve the kind of wealth and benefits taken by you, you may still have to lose them by other means like seeing doctors, accidents, etc so why beg for such things.
    Want to give offerings, just give sincerely without asking for something. Look within your own heart for the answers.
    Blessings and protections are also not dependant on how you look externally or what kinds of auspicious things you buy etc because the good Karma in your heart wins everything.
    If possible, if you can even realise that life is merely a dream in Samsara, seek enlightenment and Nirvana.

    I thought Taoist Priest need to go 江西龙虎山-正一派 or Shandong 全真 sect for training, studies and graduation. To get the Taoist official seal. Singapore one seems not legit le or traditional just follow their local master but no get official seal from the official sect head in China or Taiwan. (e.g. 正一派 got 2 claims, one from China, one from Taiwan which the official head retreat to Taiwan with the KMT army in 1949 while the China one is the relative who claim the throne after the official left to Taiwan. So now there are 2. )

      Actually for the priest in the video if u look him up 👀 he is part of the 全真教化協會 under the 全真 龍門 sect having its lineage trace back to Hong Kong and recognised by the school back in HK. They regularly make contacts with the other 全真 priests even from the famed 白雲觀 in Beijing. So seems pretty legit lor.
      Even for the hokkien priests in singapore, nowadays alot of them do indeed head to the 天師府 in 江西 to recieve formal certification. Hope this clears it up 🙏

    if it started out as a philosophy, then wouldn't this be modern day idol worshipping?

    • @Makisetutuloo
      @Makisetutuloo 4 месяца назад +4

      There's many aspects to Taoist, and you can be Taoist without necessarily partaking in worship. As the priest said, if you want to start on Taoism, start from the philosophy. It's a lot about how should society function and how should you as an individual contribute to society. Taoist worship gods (primordial gods like Sea goddess) and the souls of great heroes, because they believe that these entities have the power to grant protection from misfortunes outside of your control, and offering incense and fruits is a way of expressing gratitude for their protection. Different temples will have house different deities, but they all teach the same principles about compassion, frugality, and humbleness.

    • @Gamerboy649
      @Gamerboy649 4 месяца назад

      @@Makisetutuloo so taoist seek protection from dead mortals instead of a higher power?

    • @Makisetutuloo
      @Makisetutuloo 4 месяца назад +6

      @@Gamerboy649 so if you listen to what the priest said, the Taoist believe that each person has three souls, and one of the three souls stays in the shrine for as long as their descendants continue to remember them. The Taoists pray to deities (humans who performed great deeds), as well as primordial gods, for protection and also to express gratitude for the protection. Folks don't usually pray to their ancestors to ask for protection, it's usually just a form of respect and remembrance, and an act of fulfilling filial duties. Not all Taoists will pray to the deities and primordial gods, but all Taoists have a duty to pay respect to ancestors and be responsible for the future generations. The philosophy of Taoism is largely centered around how society ought to work, to be appreciative of predecessors for laying the foundations of our world today, and to contribute to the wellbeing of the community, and protect the future generations.

    God had highlighted the greatest sins of all human is Pride
    Observe the master how their followers ask and give offering they held up highly above the rest with high esteem and pride and self interpretation of their teaching using human mindset

    The Bible is very clear there are 2 places where we go when we die: heaven or hell. The Bible also says very clearly that you can know and choose to go to heaven or hell, before you take your last breath (1 John 5:13).
    First, the problem is that we all sin (Romans 3:23). Have done wrong, evil, immoral things (Ecclesiastes 7:20). Our sins separate us from God, if left unresolved, our sins will separate us from God forever (Matthew 25:46; Romans 6:23). Eternal separation This is hell, which is called the eternal lake of fire (Revelation 20:14-15).
    The solution, 2000 years ago God was manifested in human form named Jesus (John 1:1, 14; 8:58; 10:30). He lived a sinless life (1 Peter 3:22; 1 John 3:5) sacrificing for us (1 Corinthians 15:3; 1 Peter 1:18-19). His death paid the penalty for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21). God gives us salvation and forgiveness as gifts (Romans 6:23) that we MUST receive by FAITH (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9).
    Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). Repent by confessing with your mouth that:
    1. You are a sinner.
    Forgive me God.
    2. I believe Jesus is Lord and Savior, died & rose again to take away my sins.
    3. Ask the Lord Jesus to come into your life now and forever. You will be saved/justified/washed away from your sins, sanctified & have eternal life in heaven (Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 1:13-14).

      err what is the point of this comment? can we just learn and appreciate other people's culture and religion without imposing ours on others? since u only listen to scriptures, here is one of many about NOT judging others
      Matthew 7:1-5
      1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
      2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
      3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"
      Romans 14:22-23
      Cultivate your own relationship with God, but don't impose it on others.
