Turned out good! Was it your dogs or neighbourhood dogs that got your chickens? We just got a German Shepherd I had to break chasing chickens, she is good now

Neighborhood dogs that live right in front of us. They moved in after we did and have over 30 dogs with numbers growing since they aren't fixed. They didn't kill them for sport, they were eating them. Our dogs are great with them, our puppy is still learning though. How did you break your German Shepard from chasing them?

@@katrinacryer so sorry to hear that, we had the same problem, our neighbors moved in with a male and female dog that wiped out a small flock that we just had free range like we always did. They have had several liters now and they keep some and pawn them off to the other neighbors, who also don't take care of them. One nipped at my wife a few months back, we are planning to move to a larger property soon, or I would have to come up with a solution.
I'm not for the nanny / tattle tale state, but if they literally have 30 dogs I would file a complaint so it was on record and start trapping them / taking them to the pound. You have at least one little one (poor guy with the cast =( ) to worry about, because dogs running around in packs are dangerous specially if they are hungry.

@@katrinacryer on the training part, just never leave your pup outside alone with the chickens, be sure to train her to understand "no!" And if the pup don't listen put them in a crate for a time 10 to 30 minute time out. I have a video on that, we will be getting a 2nd GSD in a few weeks so will be doing it all over again laugh. Always better to teach a puppy than an older dog that has got away with bad behavior.

@@HallHomestead yeah we don't want to have to call the law but its probably what's best for the welfare of the dogs. We did report the first attack so there is a record but no consequences.

Was that 3/4 pvc 8 or 10 feet long? How did it hold up without a top bar?

We live in the south so even our cold snaps aren't actually that cold. The cold we had didn't seem to bother them one bit. My husband was away when I finished this and we replaced it with plywood once he got back and I had extra hands to help.
