- Lazy in space was good but I missed some stuff so I made this to quell the insatiable hunger that is my needing to quote bapc every five seconds
Please go watch Lazy In Space, while I am saying that I miss these old scenes from the Cartoon Hangover version of Bee and Puppycat, I still also love the new show and if you want it to get renewed for a second season then streaming it is crucial.
I hope you enjoyed it!

Wish they hadn’t squished the first series into three episodes. I missed a lot of these bits when I watched LIP too
SOMEBODY FINALLY SAID IT
Doesn't the runtime of the first three episodes of the new show add up to more than the runtime of the pilot+10 of the old show?
as someone who watched lazy in space first, the original 10 episodes felt weirdly paced, kind of like the entire LIP, i liked it but it went by really fast and even my memory of it felt fast
I kinda like it since it made room for new things, esp since the original is still here on RUclips
@@9zxn really? As someone who watched the original like five years ago, how does it compare to LIP? Is there one you prefer over the other?
I feel like they should’ve just reanimated the old series and added the new bits in as new episodes. Other than that lazy in space was perfectly fine imo
I still love this show to bits and pieces
yeah, it felt different but it's not a bad different, it was still a fun series and i hope they renew it for another season, at the same time i do kinda miss the charm from the original series. but hey, you can't force lightning to strike twice, and plus nostalgia has kinda blinded me in the past so whose to say that's not happening now
Though, the old series... doesn't need to be reanimated. It is, was, already incredible and didn't need anything changed about it in my opinion. I'm happy the new show writers left this show to shine on its own like it always has :) it will always have its charm
The first three canon episodes will never have the natural charm as the og series
Yeah it’s weird. The first three eps feel kinda rushed?? But the rest of the series (oh my god especially the voice acting) felt so much more polished. I feel like they didn’t intend on remaking the first episodes but ig Netflix wanted the complete show?
@@soutman2913 Exactly! I watched it leaked and then seeing those 3 episodes threw me off. Those 3 episodes look terrible and the voicing is different too.
The first three episodes were a recap, given that it has been a long time since Season 1. Lazy in Space serves as Season 2, and starting Ep. 4 picks up where the series pretty much left off.
@@sweetsisfat the acting in the first three episodes is the same VA's except for Cardamon. The acting only sounds different for the rest of the cast because they had to re-record the lines from Season 1 rather than recycle VA clips.
@@rhapsodyrascal4698 Cardamon is actually the same VA he just got older
There was so much personality in the original series. You get the sense that bee is an irresponsible kid but trying hard at adulting.
The new series just makes her a wacky robot eating food out a toilet. And she knows what a toilet is!!! They spend a whole episode trying to find one!
or is it just me or also puppycat was better with emotions in the og like he was nicer and everything ⚡
I thought the downplaying of personality in LiS made it profoundly charming. I never wanted to rewatch something as bad due to its serenity.
Cardamon is genuinely the best landlord- doing far more manual work than most landlords do lol
Her reaction when puppycat first gives her the temp letter, and her line, "There better not be something criptic in here, or Im gonna totally lose my marbles."
Is my favorite scene.
I don’t appreciate how they took Deckards little stutter away :/ I have the same thing at times and that’s what really made me like Deckard. Because I related lol
They could have made Bee like Genos from opm. A cyborg because honestly, I thought she was a cyborg this whole time. Not full blown robot :/
But she is a cyborg, isn't she? Cause she used to be human until she got sick, I'm assuming her dad replaced her organs and stuff with robot junk. Idk
@@eggo9543 I hope that’s the case because full robot would throw me off.
@@sweetsisfat i doubt shes full robot considering she managed to get sun-tanned
I loved his speech patterns too! I was so sad when I first heard him in LIS
Same about the stutter :( Not nearly as frequent as others, but it shows up for me when I talk in front of groups or am unsure my information is correct 😅
I am more disappointed that I do not find Lazy in Space to be as funny as the original S1, but idk how much of that is nostalgia
i miss deckards wordisms, i don't know if i just don't remember him doing it in the reboot but it just added an extra bit of character to him, he felt more like plain bread in the reboot, or maybe that's just cause they didn't put him in as many episodes
i love how in a certain episode where they ask for a big assignment and bee asks if puppycat wants to be picked up, the vocaloid just goes "i'm faaat"
My big issue with Netflix lazy in space (what i've watched so far) was the pacing of the writing. They changed the flow and rythm of the writing, made it feel slow and awkward and watered-down. And the delivery of the lines felt half-hearted somehow. It was all kind of half-hearted, rushed, and watered down? I hope that the original (and the original second season Lazy in Space that was only available via piracy) remains available to watch in places ..
Links please????
@@noneofyourbusiness4133 I went back and from what I could tell was that they just changed the order of a few episodes from the original lazy in space. But I rushed through the comparisons so I don't know whether there's a lot that I missed.
I felt the exact same way watching the first episodes.
@@OutlandishOof oh, so it’s all still there?
@@noneofyourbusiness4133 Yeah I originally watched it back in 2020 through kimcartoon, they still have it listed as season 2 and the newer netflix one as season 3, but they should be exactly the same, just without the first three episodes and ordering changes.
i liked how expressive cass was before and how you could tell she’s a fighter before it was confirmed, i miss the old art style before it was more chibi-fied, and i miss the deckard and bee moments
Same 😭
The number one thing I miss is the old art style 😭😭 Deckard especially looks so much worse in the new series. Like a damn child 😭
@@lilywillow-7951 LITERALLY they gave him like one chunk of hair i HATED IT
@@ipisseduoff5900 IKR ITS AWFUL
I don't like how they just put Deckard into culinary school halfway through and you basically never hear from him again until the very end
Just now realizing she plays as her dad in the game episode
The animation and art style was so much better in the original episodes. I remember they had budget problems and probably had to lower it to be able to get the new season/series made. Which is a shame because the colors and general aesthetic is really cool but the animation is much slower and less fluid, and the characters faces look wonky sometimes and not as expressive. The new series feels much more slow, awkward and weird, and not as funny anymore.
This 100%
Exactly
and sometimes - most times - IT IS A QUESTION IF PUPPYCAT HAS A NOSE
Fax
IMO the art style was way better in the pitch pilot they shared before even making what everyone here is calling the "original".
the og show was more expressive I think both the acting and style . the new show is not always paced as well and some of the voice acting is off ?? I like both series ,I'm just a little more drawn to the first one
I thought the voice acting was off as well!! In the intense scenes it seemed way too calm and just didn’t sound right
@@baby_bluu22 i agree, in the last episode of Lazy in Space, there was like a ton of chaos but the characters sounded so calm?!?
@@luvlygloe yes!! It just made it sound so incredibly awkward
awkward? It's realistic, also it has it own charm which hooked me up to the series in the first place.
@@aoimidori1237 oh yeah! Totally agree it has its own charm, but when u talk about realistic, nothing about the show is realistic 😭😭 so it’s actually more realistic to make it less realistic, if that makes sense? I adore bee and puppy cat, one of my favourite shows ever! I just like the original more, and if you like the Netflix one more, that’s totally valid! :)
The worst offense of the recap episodes on Netflix is that there’s no Arin Hanson Dog
That's who Arin Hanson played?! Omg that's made that scene even better now
@@GenericRae Yeah, sometimes it just sounds like him yelling "bark bark", lol.
@@GenericRae He's also the Elder in episode 6.
@@CocoTheMii aw sick! Thanks!
@@GenericRae he also voices Wesley, deckard's brother! :D
I think the first 3 episodes were held down due to the nostalgia the web series held in comparison- but the rest of the show is great
I feel like someone who hadn’t seen the original would still enjoy the first 3
But it’s not the absence of the jokes in this video that makes the opening of Lazy in Space messy, it’s the lack of focus that comes with trying to cram all of these stories into a form that doesn’t suit them. And that’s something that can be felt whether or not you were familiar with Bee and Puppycat beforehand.
@@adencurry3727 idk i liked it, and i liked it again when i showed the first few to my mom
The series works as it is on netflix for me
Why'd they change the cardimon scene, the original was so sad, and tragic. He feeds his mother this wish granting donut, and instead of wishing to wake up, nothing happens.
The kid feels betrayed, sad and angry. Its a great scene, that didnt make it into lazy in space.
It did though, in lazy in space it's a little different, but he feeds her the donut and she starts crying instead which is honwstly even more depressing Imo. Like, this kid wants his mom to wake up and instead of that happening she just starts crying in her sleep.
wait isn't lazy in space season 2 of the original b&p?
yeah and i’d say that in s2, him feeding her the crystal makes it worse for everyone around him, bc those tears prove to be a p huge nuisance.
It’s sad how they ruined the best parts of the original cartoon and completely ERASED deckards entire character
I missed Bee's birthday episode
The current birthday episode has the plot of the season finale
What I love the most abt this show is that the dialogue is awkward and they mess up a little and stutter. It feels so real. My favorite moment is “is it a cat… or a do-og??”
Love the new Netflix show, but it really cannot replace the old version. First 3 recap episodes really sucked. Too much rushing through the old stuff, too much censorship, unnecessary changes, trying too hard yet not enough in areas. The later episodes I really enjoyed
I feel like Bee got a touch flatter in Lazy in Space.
She did. They really made it more obvious she’s a robot. In the older show she was awkward and clumsy but emotionally aware and more expressive. In Lazy in Space it’s apparent she struggles with feeling certain kinds of emotions and has no idea what she feels at certain times, making her seem very odd to the other characters.
@@astrea4020 yes
@@astrea4020 But I miss my little gluttonous goober :(
You took too long, now your candy’s gone. That’s what happened. KAPOW 🎉
I love how PCs straight up just a bastard
I love the old Cardamon VA
it’s the same voice actors, he’s just grown up
All I have to say is that I like the Netflix one. I don't like some of the changes but over all I like it.
But the original is special to me and will never be replaced
“I’m your new landlord” and
“I need room to work, back up…. Further…. Further… further… even further-“ SENT ME 💀💀
after completing lazy in space , i was disappointed . it felt rushed even when they got so much more time . the characterization for many characters felt off and too changed for me to find them enjoyable . deckards plot was pushed to the side right until the end to go along with violet and puppycats plot . it was just unsatisfactory but i still enjoyed it nonetheless for some artistic scenes and some good writing here and there .
I guess this is what happens when anything is officialized, it get neutered. The original content is super great at least!
I prefer the original animation but I'm pretty sure the Netflix ver is more accurate towards the comic than this version? But it had a major pacing issue. If they kept the same pacing and humour style as they did in the og animation it would have been so much better. There's small derails in the og version which just make it much more enjoyable and relatable in a weird way.
lazy in space is fine but the first series holds a special place in my heart
I miss Deckard :(
Betrayal: deep synth sound apparently
They should have just put the old eps on netflix/ only made new eps
I like the older version so much more. I wish they didn't change the episodes in the new version.
Its kind of a shame they had to squish the whole first series into 3 episodes. But it was either that, or continue to look for a publishing company. No-body would take the show, because who wants the second season to a Show that's first season isnt on the same platform.
Idk why no one likes the Netflix version, i watched both and enjoyed them equally
I like the Netflix show too
i think its funny how ppl act like the old version is gone forever
It really feels like that though
@@mimikacchan but its not? it will forever be on the internet XD
@@beanieweanie3389 yah but the new episodes are like, canon now. The stuff they changed kinda messes with the plot a bit
@@Mari.T.C lol did you read the comics? like at all? its WAYYY more cannon
@@beanieweanie3389 oh well, that is true, but it really isn't for me, it still feels weird that it came officially -.-
1:00 the best scene
This is why i refuse to see the remake......this is GOLDEN
The art style of the new version just feels, for lack of a better word, squished and the voice acting just feels off.... The OG is just so iconic that anything else feels off, I couldn't get past the second episode
PRETTY PATRIIIIIIIIIICK~
It's so unfair Deckard was my boy he stammers and stutters like my introverted adhd ass and they took that awayyyyyyyy
I watched all the old episodes on my 3ds
This has a midnight gospel feel to it. Beautiful visuals. Nonsensical voices lol
I've had my recipes bookmark folder for my browser titled "Reyycipes" for years thanks to Deckhard. Still tickles me.
I haven't watched the first 3 canon episodes cause i just felt too lazy to do so and i knew I'd compare it to the original 10 episodes, and I knew I'd find it rushed. What i did end up watching one day was the reveal of Bee not being fully Human on netflix. They completely ruined it. It was my favourite scene and they ruined it. After that, I'm definitely never gonna watch the first 3. I did watch the rest and it was okay.
I'm so happy reading though the comments that people feel the same about the Netflix show to this one , I adore bee and puppy cat and the first series on RUclips , I did like the Netflix one just coz I love bee and puppy cat but it didn't have the same feel and asthecic this had
The Netflix version doesn't hit how it should if you originally watched Bee and Puppycat since it aired online on Hangover. I had a feeling they'd lean away from Deckard being an interest since he went to school, but it being retconned outright and replaced kinda stings :-( Deckard was already incredibly sweet and likeable without knowing too much about him yet and i wish they wouldve lingered on him more. I get they didn't wanna retell the same story, but it share to not feel like they are retconning the canon of the Hangover version.
Man i love that show
I just watched the entire old show in the 3ds e shop
I miss the humor of the old show. I like the new one, but not as much as I love the old show.
the thumbnail was my homescreen for like a year
5:34 when your pet get jealous an worried when you close for the other animal
I’ll always like the original series better❤️
6:26 arin hanson
Classic Deckard gives me gender envy. New Deckard makes me dysphoric. Idk if that makes sense...
The cat talks so funny! I just started this series on netflix. And I like deckerd and crespin.
Tbh I really feel like they coulda jus reanimated the pilot as like either the first episode or like a flashback kinda deal, Then either have the rest of the episode(or the next one) Be one of newer episodes they came up with, As opposed to abridging the 3 original episodes. Probably would've helped a bit. I still like the new ones tho
Did anyone else find it weird that after the first 3 episodes of the Netflix series it was basically that everybody knew bee was a robot? In the original it didn't seem like people knew and then it's just common knowledge.
He’s still depressed. Just depressed in pants
1:11 this feels like an adventure time reference
The original is a touch more unhinged but both shows are totally weird and great.
Depressed in pants...I felt that
They made toast straight v_v
I just realized something this might be a spoiler but
how come a robot can get tanned?
Soon it will be cheese always has me laughing lol
they made bee sound so monotone in lazy space :(
I love the first season
I love the old show more
I thought I watched everything why don’t I recognize a lot of these scenes. Is there more than is what’s on Netflix
I’m sad, they didn’t put male bee in the show. It was my favorite part 😢
Personal opinion, watch the series on youtube then start from episode 4 on netflix.
1:04 so we not gonna talk about this one?????????????
When i saw on Netflix this serie i was super excited bc i thought we would get a 2nd temp but the caps are different right? Someone know why?
Definitely recommend watching the oh series and then the Netflix one 👌
Idkwhy but i swear the old one is WAY funnier, maybe the voice acting?
I feel like there are so many scenes where they overacted the lines and it kinda killed the sleepy morning vibes. But other than that I liked all the extra content and more animated moments. I did miss Puppycat's profanity and some of these seemingly pointless scenes though.
Why does the dog sound like Illich Guardiola? And for that matter, why does Toast sound like Karen Strassman? 😂
where can i find the full old show? i miss this so much
the pilot video/full 10 episode compilation are posted on RUclips by cartoon hangover :)
i’m confused did they make it a whole new show? i thought the first season was just animated different cause of age. i feel like the second season was more or less the same
3:48
Why did they CHANGE IT
Is Deckard voiced by the same VA as Blue Jay in Regular Show?
I really like the new one more than the old one. But I guess I'm the only one here
The Netflix series was disappointing and lacks the magic of the original.
Honestly, couldn't pass the second ep from the new show. Felt dead, rushed and overall weird in like a bad way. Like a tiktok.
YE YESS YES YES EXACTLY
It was rushed, the first 3 episodes were made in a limited amount of time to be able to be released on Netflix. Lazy in Space was done for at least 2 years before we got the announcement
Trust me, after the very rushed reboot eps it gets much much better in just about every department, most notably in the writing and acting. Skip to episode 4 and give that a chance before you write the whole show off (although obviously it’s very understandable if it’s still not your thing)
@@elderberryva9282 I second this. The actual new stuff is awesome. Great writing and acting all around. But the first three episodes are abominations
@@elderberryva9282 The acting is still a little off, Bee and Cass are the most noticeable. It feels like they were told to dial back the more conversational delivery but went overboard. It's especially noticeable on lines they took from the original but repurposed, it genuinely sounds like the voice actors aren't having fun :(
3:50 Joe Chin?
Is there a new series?
Where can I watch the original..?
Len
What do you mean "old show"?
the OG bee and puppycat youtube show! it's marvellous! (sure we had to wait a lot back then after the pilot aired and all, but it was worth it!). the new Netflix one is a reboot.
new show is so slow.
Wasn't a huge fan of the chibi look of the Netflix series...
Okay, why is the old show LEAGUES better than the shit chuckling new one??
as a new watcher who watched the one on netflix first; the one on netflix sucks to me. it’s too fast paced and everything was revealed way too soon and in a very strange half hearted way. and i hate that they seemed to remove deckard & bee’s crushes on each other and just made them weird friends idk. i don’t really understand what is the original and where this show even came from but there’s one thing i know for sure and it’s that the one on youtube is better than the one on netflix.
