I really enjoyed this video. The only problem I have with even getting a g carriage is the noise! I don’t think I could ever use it because of the noise.
Another clear and informative video. My young nephew and I spent a wonderful day with the KG95, casting on, trying lots of different patterns and casting off. Then it went back into the box and has not been used since and that was a few years ago. I wonder how many folk have this wonderful carriage but lack the knowledge how to use it to make knitwear? I have yet to find any beginners patterns to help getting started as obviously different techniques are needed when it comes to increasing, decreasing and putting stitches into hold.
Did you ever sort out why the CB-1 row counter wasn't registering those G-carriage rows? Did it perhaps have to do with the G-carriage cam not having been inserted in the back in place of the magnets? I am getting back into machine knitting after more than 10 years, and your vids are just what this ol' brain of mine needs as a refresher! Thank you for all you do for our craft. :-)
June, thanks for your videos. I have an older g carriage, maybe 88 or something that has rails, does the 970 have built in rails? I have a new to me 970 and haven't really looked to see if I need a different g carriage or not.
Hello! this video was so helpful. I was wondering if the garter carriage would work the same if I had every other needle in work. (if I wanted to make a mock rib or ladders)
Thank you for posting this - this is the only video or instruction that combines the 970 with the G-carriage. Helps a lot!
Fantastic! This video has been very helpful! Thank you!
You're very welcome!

Glad it helped. Busy Bee Basics have lots of garter carriage patterns
I couldn't agree with you more and would love to see this done.
Really enjoyed watching the video but can't hear what your saying when garter carr is running and can't see what your doing on the CB1

Hi. I think I forgot to put the tripper in the garter carriage
@@JuneClark Yes, that would do it. So many little details to remember!
the row counter does not work on my G Carriage it goes back and forth doing pattern but does not register the turn vey frustrating any ideas?
I am sorry, but I don’t know much about the inner workings. Join the Garter Carriage group on FB

Yes, the 970 has built in rails. You really need the 93 or 95 for the 970
@@JuneClark Oh, thanks. Hope I can find one for a reasonable price!
@@JuneClark Thanks for the video. I have a 970 and an 89. Works fine. I think the dealer took off the magnets so the combination would work.
What’s the pattern computer is this a manual machine ?
No, it is the Brother 970 electronic, see my other videos on programming
I have to stay in the room with my Garter Carriage (GG) and play music. GG is temperamental. 😂
Hello! this video was so helpful. I was wondering if the garter carriage would work the same if I had every other needle in work. (if I wanted to make a mock rib or ladders)
I think it would be quicker to do mock rib/ladders with the main carriage. Also, the GC might turn around when it reaches its first out of work needle
@@JuneClark Yes. If all 200 needles are not in the km, then the gc does not work correctly. It just turns around whenever it wants.
Hello June, thank you for the video, can you do button hole band on garter carriage.
Can’t see why not
@@JuneClark Yes if it is a one stitch eyelit buttonhole. I do not think you can do a 2 or 3 or more stitch buttonhole.
