In case it wasnt commented or realized prior... Mean machine coach is Burt Reynolds... Star of the original 70's movie! Now... I dunno if you've heard of or seen it, but... If not... In it's own right THE most realistic football movie you NEED to react to is ANY GIVEN SUNDAY where the NFL wouldn't sign off on using the official teams because it exposes too much of what goes on behind closed doors and you see the politics of owners vs managers vs coaches vs players! Stars Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, Cameron Diaz, etc.... You'll never see a pro football game the same afterward!!😮
It's genius if you ask me. WWE wrestlers are literally actors who are also professional stuntmen. Get two birds stoned at once when you hire a wrestler to act AND have action scenes.
Just a note: the actor who plays Knauer in the original Bert Reynolds movie is also in this movie. He's the guy at the golf course who said Crewe slept with his wife.
I'm 33 now and first watched this movie when I was 15 and locked up in juvie when it first came out on DVD. It was a pretty interesting movie to watch while being locked up 😂😂 everybody in there loved it!
16:31 he was trying to kill Crewe not Caretaker. Caretaker was in the wrong place wrong time. He was able to do it cause he’s a firebug and can rig anything to blow. I love how they messed with the guards for game day. Also love how at the end the head guard changed the way he felt about Crewe cause if the game happened earlier in the movie he would’ve taken the shot at Crewe. 22:14 I love how when Crewe is under center you can hear him laughing anticipating what’s going to happen. 30:55 I’m surprised you didn’t recognize the con that got the ball. It was the same con that was smoking on the field. He burned the guard with his cigarette. 32:26 Burt Reynolds played Crewe in the original “Longest Yard”. Burt actually took that hit and the scene with them carrying him off the field was real. He was supposed to have a stunt double but he said he had one more run in him. Bosworth said who else can say they got ran over by Burt Reynolds. 35:51 one thing the guards did learn from this game was some legal tricks they could use in their playbook.
I love this movie an what I love even more is that it’s a remake of the Burt Reynolds longest Yard and now Sandler is playing Crew the same role Burt Reynolds played in the first movie so it was really cool they brought him back! It was about 10 years after the movie came out that I was told by my gram that this was a remake an BR stared in the OG movie … so that just made it hit differently
I got picked last in PE for football. I just started at this school. The PE teacher let us all vote if we would play touch or tackle. Obviously we all picked tackle. It was raining and the field was muddy... I was handed off the ball as a joke "I think". I ran over the the biggest player on the opposing team. I then made the game winning TD catch in the mud and ruined my PE clothes. My mom was very mad, but my respect in The PE locker room was OVER 9000!!!! true story, never amounted to anything, but I still have that moment. My first daughter being born tried to take that, but no... 🤣🤣🤣
Hey mate, as always, great reaction, cheers!👌 Burt Reynolds from the original is coach! I think it's awesome they got him in here!😊 Lotsa love from Aus 🥰 💚 🇦🇺
That guy is a pyromainic, people who love to start fires or blow stuff up...even the one Sargent told him he wanted Crewe finished and to use his pyro imagination and the old guy said that he gave him the inspiration but he ended up taking out Chris Rock.
Just think about how much the Guards must really suck at football. They had like 5 touchdowns just handed to them, not to mention those crooked calls from the Ref, but still lost.
The real big dumb guy named Switowski, is played by Bob Sapp. He was a popular MMA fighter. He was probably more famous in Japan than he was in the states.
BRUH!!! How could you not Recognize Rapper NELLY in this movie??? when this movie came out even I knew he can play Football from his youth in St. Louis. He even got the attention from The Braves and The Pirates, yes they thought he was good enough when they saw him.
I was thinking a sequel Crewes goes to another prison and does another game but with even more badass inmates.. more wrestlers ... possibly Rock, Cena e.g. They could recast Chris Rock , have caretaker have a twin or something lol
A lot of people don't know that this Movie is loosely based on a series of Games known as "The Death Match" Ukrainian Prisoners VS German Soldiers back in WW2... clearly its "Very loosely" and obviously with a happier ending..
15:04 Because that's the way it happened in the original movie. They were trying to top it AND throw off the audience who might have seen the original.
I can think of two great comedies, one of which I know/ the other...It's been too long but I feel confident Does, depict straight up murder. Both star the same people too, but the eighties were a different time lol. One is 'Beverly Hills Cop' and the other is ' 48 hours'. both absolutely worth a watch too if you haven't seen them.
What's sad is that a lot of movies that I love would never be made today. Tropic Thunder, Billy Madison! There's just no real comedy any more people are way too sensitive it's sad. I especially feel bad for all the comedians nowadays! They can't say anything without offending anybody. That's a whole point of a joke. People need to get a sense of humor!
The original is 10,000 times better than this Hell, the British remake called Mean Machine (which replaces football with soccer and has Jason Statham in a supporting role where he absolutely steals the movie) is 10,000 times better than this!
Sometimes they remake a movie and when you see it you wonder why, Why did they do it? The casting in particular is inferior in that there is no way I could ever imagine Adam Sandler as an NFL quarterback. The one exception is Chris Rock. But his performance alone is not enough to justify what they created.

Its brutal.... But has a Dope soundtrack as well!!
I highly recommend the original
The original is the real thing... just do it man, it's a must. You really don't know Burt Reynolds really... amazing!
Awesome movie
It was set off to explode in Adam Sandler's ceĺl and Chris Rock went to his cell to give him the picture and he got exploded instead of Adam Sandler.
22:25 my favourite line in the movie hands down. And I follow this rule to a T.
There’s a UK version called Mean Machine with some big UK actors, but they play UK Football (Soccer)
I love how many pro-wrestlers are in this movie, it's such a fun casting choice
As a kid I had no idea it was Marvin Harrison who played ball 1 on 1 vs Adam Sandler. Stacked cast
It's genius if you ask me. WWE wrestlers are literally actors who are also professional stuntmen. Get two birds stoned at once when you hire a wrestler to act AND have action scenes.
@@gogousa6661 it wasn’t Marvin, it’s Michael Irvin from the cowboys.
@bravedown50 yeah my favorite cowboy of all time the "Playmaker" Michael Irvin
Didn't know if you noticed, fhe taller cop that pulled Crew over is Dan Patrick.
Just a note: the actor who plays Knauer in the original Bert Reynolds movie is also in this movie. He's the guy at the golf course who said Crewe slept with his wife.
If you havent seen it, another movie in this same style, Here Comes the Boom with Kevin James.
30:50 Bro burned him with his cigarette 😂
The way u referred to Chris rock was CRAAZZZYYYY😂😂
I'm 33 now and first watched this movie when I was 15 and locked up in juvie when it first came out on DVD. It was a pretty interesting movie to watch while being locked up 😂😂 everybody in there loved it!
Bro didn’t notice Michael Irvin
He's young
He didn't even notice Nelly
Guy who was beating Adam Sandler with the nightstick name is William Fichtner he voices Ken Rosenberg in both Gta Vice City and San Andreas
This is one of my favourite movies, it’s so fun but it has great moments.
I Can't Believe They Killed Off Caretaker
16:31 he was trying to kill Crewe not Caretaker. Caretaker was in the wrong place wrong time. He was able to do it cause he’s a firebug and can rig anything to blow. Brian Bosworth -- the Boz!!!

burt reynalds played crewe in the og film but in this film he plays Coach Nate Scarborough RIP Burt reynolds
Dang basically the entire recruitment section in the middle isn’t included
GloryRoad is a fantastic movie! Highly recommended!
Another football classic, (Varsity Blues). A must watch... 🙏
Speaking of the green mile, same warden too.
That was Micheal Irvin during the "unquestionable call" and the ref was the dude from Grandmas Boy....

Another football movie like this is “The Replacements”. Another prison movie to check out is “the last castle”
I remember my brother showing me this movie when I was 14 I said I didn’t care then watched it and I loved it
Shooting in the dark but maybe sometime later on we can get White Chicks(2004)? That’s a classic with an amazing cast
This movie is actually based of a British movie called Mean Machine its a lil more serious but still a fantastic watch, i highly recommend it.
Actually that British movie was based on the original The Longest Yard (1974).
@@DavidBrown-xm8ou Ohh really?? I didnt know that, thanks for the info
That guy is a pyromainic, people who love to start fires or blow stuff up...even the one Sargent told him he wanted Crewe finished and to use his pyro imagination and the old guy said that he gave him the inspiration but he ended up taking out Chris Rock.
I love seeing Adam sandler movies and he gets his friends in the movies dude a real one getting his friends that bread too
Even D12 had a cameo in this movie, ironically enough dude said “Look at this fake ass slim shady” 😂
This was a GREAT cast!
9:20 "Hey, SuperDick" 😂
Just think about how much the Guards must really suck at football. They had like 5 touchdowns just handed to them, not to mention those crooked calls from the Ref, but still lost.
the actor who was lifting in the bench full of people. hes in a martial arts movie with Michael J White. called blood and bone. highly recommend it
His name is Bob sapp
Chris Rock and Adam Sandler been in at least 5 movies together. I think they been friends since SNL. And OMG please do Gridiron Gang lol
In the original CCaretaker was killed by a booby trapped light bulb...you were supposed to think it was going to explode
Alot of actors, wrestlers and rapper Nelly
The original is pure gold with burt Reynolds.
I loved the longest yard it’s another classic in my list
Mean Machine is also worth a watch.
The real big dumb guy named Switowski, is played by Bob Sapp. He was a popular MMA fighter. He was probably more famous in Japan than he was in the states.

Jesus, now I know what people mean when they say Yanks don't have inside voices.
A lot of people don't know that this Movie is loosely based on a series of Games known as "The Death Match" Ukrainian Prisoners VS German Soldiers back in WW2... clearly its "Very loosely" and obviously with a happier ending..
The D12 cameo was hilarious
The guy Adam Sandler play in Basketball is HOF WR Michael Irvan
15:04 Because that's the way it happened in the original movie. They were trying to top it AND throw off the audience who might have seen the original.
The best Adam Sandler movie ever
I can think of two great comedies, one of which I know/ the other...It's been too long but I feel confident Does, depict straight up murder. Both star the same people too, but the eighties were a different time lol. One is 'Beverly Hills Cop' and the other is ' 48 hours'. both absolutely worth a watch too if you haven't seen them.
They didn't go after caretaker. They went after Adam Sandler. He just dropped off a present
I’m surprised you ain’t notice/mention Nelly!
Tracey Morgan as a prison sissy is hilarious
the laugh at 6:00 is great, can I "borrow it"? like for memes or something
Favourite character by FAR is Nash after he has his steroids switched with estrogen 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes another Adam Sandler Movie!
You can give the British version a wee watch aswel,Mean Machine, vinnie jones, jason statham,it's basically the same 😎
Now you should watch the real version with Burt Reynolds.
you need to watch We Are Marshall its a football movie based off a true story
The cast is pretty nuts.
Right I remember watching this in theaters i went crazy when I saw the people that were in it.
The reffree is the guy from grandma's boy his adam sandler friend
Hey the big black bald guy name is bob sapp he is a mma fighter

I personally think you should watch The Originals beforehand that way you can actually see what came first. 😊
"Hey, you're white, smile! 😃"
You ever watch Rudy or Radio? Both great football movies (if I recall, been awhile).
I haven’t but I’ll keep them in mind!

Man so much of the second act just isnt here. Like Sandler meeting the giant guy or the half a star joke. Damn.
Yeahhh he played mahoney in prison break

Adam Sandler the GOAT

Yeah, but this is a remake, and the original was much better. In my opinion.

This is a mediocre version of the original.
Worst remake of all time. Unwatchable.
