Smoked 4 bowls last night ("Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged")....The aroma when you open the Tin is the highlight of this blend. It's a very thin smoke and short lived compared to Frog Morton which is Thicker and Yummy from start to finish. I have put the 8 Tins in the cellar to try again in a 1yr.
Plum Pudding is my favorite blend. I just ordered the bourbon barrel aged and hope to have it this week. Cant wait to get my first impression and hear yours as well.
Can't wait for the full review! I bought the Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel Aged and I'm very curious about Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged. Keep up the great videos!
@@pacificcoastpiper3949 yikes, they're some of my fav VaPers, like C&D Five O' Clock Shadow! My method begins by not rubbing it too finely, but into small chunks. EDIT- not to overemphasize it, but if you rub it too fine, like powder, it'll pack too tight, with a crappy draw, if any, and will usually clog the draft hole to boot. I just rub out a small pile, let it dry to 'just-right' moisture level, then use the standard 3 pinch loading method (only with a bit less force than you'd apply with ribbon tobacco) to fill the bowl to your desired level. This always gives me a balanced pack with a good draw. Best of luck!
Hello Bradley, Mississippi River , one of my favorite ever blends ... can it be better ... ? Will see , thank you for sharing , take care and happy smoking
Sounds like a most tasty blend! I'll have to lay some in...of course it's anyone's guess when I'll get to it; I've been on a VaPer kick for a good two years that shows no sign of abating. Still, I loved my English blends and have piles of tins set by, so I know that sooner or later my tastes will shift gears and I'll get back to them. I'll get back to enjoying my fill of Russ Ouelette's Viprati now, but I've noted that I need to order some SPC tobaccos soon!
Heyyy Bradley awesome 1st impressions my friend ive been trying to get me some of these blends i havnt had any luck yet im going to keep checking. I cant wait to see the full review next week Bradley thanks so. Much buddy happy smokes👍👍👍👍👍👍😃😃😃😃😃😃🔥🔥🔥🔥💨💨💨💨 best regards peter. The Smoooove piper.
Nice review. I know i do not like perique. Haunted Bookshop has a lot of perique and did not enjoy that. Now i hear Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged has some perique in it. I better hold off and watch more reviews bevore try it my self. I am exploring the aromatics and i love the alcohollic flavorings. I am like the oposit of yours. Also the 4Noggins Hobbits Weed is awesome (the first 3 weeks) after 3 weeks the flavor mellows out and you'll get more of the tobacco witch is also verry good. I love tobacco reviews perhaps it is a good idea if i do one on my own channel. The tobacco review bye a rookie. Hope you get better soon. Greetings,, Kitty.
Aww yeahhh, you uploaded the minute i got home from work! Ready to wind the day down and load up a bowl of Plum Pudding. Cheers, and as always its a pleasure to watch! This bowls for you!
Bradley - I love your pipe content and have been watching you for several years now. Probably have watched every one of your videos multiple times. I have one simple question that I would like to ask that is not meant to be antagonistic, but I'm quite serious about wanting to know why it is that you are always apologizing for things that you have no control over and things that we as the audience don't mind whatsoever. I'm referring to (in this particular instance) your apologizing over, and over again about the fact that you have a cold. Dude...quit with the apologies. Not necessary. Trust me. Keep up the great work and I'm already looking forward to the next review!!!
I'm sure you mean well, but your comment reminds me of when I was 15 and my girlfriend told me that no other girl wanted me because of my acne, but nobody else cared enough about me to tell me the truth, plus I was lucky that she was willing to overlook my other flaws, including wild hair, crooked teeth and poor posture. Thanks I guess. P.S. Her prettier, best friend evidently didn't care about me because she didn't take the time to list all my flaws before she asked me out. My point is: Don't throw the man off his mojo. His reviews are the best out there in my opinion.
It's a Castello, not sure what their shape designation is. Their Rhodesian comes as close as I found on Smokingpipes - www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/castello/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=343073 Which of course comes in a variety of finishes. 😃
there was a time when i loved Miss River; i bought several tins, and cellared them in 2016 ... must've been when they were going through the "changes" you mentioned - b/c now the stuff tastes like trash ... more accurately, it has no taste at all - the latakia is completely gone ... definitely soured me on SPC blends ...
You wrote almost verbatim what I was going to write. I didn't know if it was my palette changing radically or not. I loved it, smoked many cans of it...and then several months ago I got it and it just was...bad. I noticed (and maybe it had been out a while and I had never seen it) at the same time they were selling a Reserve" MS River and wondered if that still tasted like the tobacco I loved and the regular MS River was something they cut a lot of corners on, but I haven't tried it so I don't know. I grew up on rum and maple so I might give this a chance, but there's so much out there I don't want to be burned again.
Roger Williams exactly; i’m “done” with SPC/Miss River ... have moved on to other blends that IMO dont have production & taste issues, and honestly are more affordable & cellar perfectly
Hey there Brad. Here's a little TIP for you. Many years ago while I was sitting in my favorite pub, sipping a Weiss Bier and about to fire up my pipe, an older gentlemen sat down next to me and sparked a conversation as he lit up a pipe as well. I was telling him it has been a while since I was able to enjoy a good smoke because I couldn't shake this darn cold or flu symptoms! He then told why my dang illness seemed to last forever and I was pleasantly shocked! He simply said it's your pipes fault you still are sick. He said when he is starting to feel better after an illness and he smokes a pipe...when he is done he removes the bit piece and soaks it in some distilled water and alcohol. This removes any germs that lay in waiting inside the stem to prolong your symptoms! Hope this helps you and other pipe smokers feel better! John
The germs are all over and inside your body, not just your pipe. Your body deals with an infection until it's dealt with, you can't reduce your internal illness by cleaning your pipe. It's still a good idea to smoke a clean pipe though, so clean it anyway :p
not sure i understood this review. guy gets tin from company then tells you to buy it. ok then. i prefer to drink my booze like a man and smoke a pipe with it.

I am for sure getting them both!
Just finished my tin of Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel. Excited for my tin of Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged to arrive.
Is it still a crumble cake??
@@pacificcoastpiper3949 that's what Jiminks at tobaccoreviews calls them both.
@@mu2freighter thanks Glenn, I don't usually have the greatest luck with crumble cake cut tobacco.

@@mu2freighter so maybe just lightly tear it into coarse chunks?? My favorite cut is a flake, coin or square, followed by shag cut ribbon
I was just thinking I hadn't seen you smoke that pipe in a while. Great review.

Nice 👍 thanks for the info! Just got a tin!
After visiting my granddaughter in NY (Flushing) I caught the flu, cold or what have you, flying back to Florida. It last 5 weeks. Good luck.

You should review Davidoff’s Scottish Mixture
Please do a review of King's Stride Warped !
nice voice crack at the end Bradley not sure if that was intended but funny nonetheless
