At 1.47 it looks like there are 3 strings instead of 2. That's to say, 2 bourganes (octaves) and an ordinary D string. So it's a 3-2-2 arrangement, like a saz. Unusual.
Since the first bouzoukia were made using mandolin parts, people used 7 or even 8 strings on their instruments and often tuned them similar to the saz, so it's common to see alternate stringing methods, for example 4 sympathetic strings for the lowest course, a single string in the middle used for melodies (sometimes with a bass string tuned an octave lower), but it seems that people back then tended to experiment a lot with tunings before the standard DAD tuning that is used nowdays. A very good example of the older playing style and tunings can be seen in this video: ruclips.net/video/eEw8dzu6mfA/видео.html Thanks to Manolis Karapiperis and his recordings, some information regarding the older playstyle of the bouzouki is preserved and has been researched upon by many rembetika and laika musicians, although you rarely see people playing like this nowdays. Here are some sources if you'd like to learn more about the matter! @@djimmish Thanks for the info. I've heard of Karapiperis. I always considered the period 1900 - 1920 a bit mysterious as Rembetika is supposed to have started after 1922. I wondered what they played in Athens before the refugees arrived.
Oh, now I remember. It's "Madalena" by Marika Papagika. Do you know if there are tabs available for this tune ?
Nice. Looks like the low D course is strung in unison, instead of octave tuned, which is unusual in a trixordo bouzouki.
It actually has a cuadrouple low D course, making use of all eight mandolin tuners that it has. Two unison low and two unison up an octave.
Έχω ένα ίδιο τού Σταθόπουλου 1914 αγορασμενω από το παπού μου στην αμερική. τι αξία έχει?
Το πουλας το μπουζουκι ;;

Nice bouzouki. What is the name of the tune that you are playing?
Μανταλιώ και Μανταλένα (mandalioh and mandalena)
Or
Μυστήριο ζεϊμπέκικο (mysterious zeibek)
Probably a Balkan traditional song.
Απιθανος ηχος
