@@Gblonkers a sidearm would be a pistol or something like that, but in CoD you could be carrying an AK-47 as your other weapon, thats why I think the term "secondary" is more fitting.

The pump shotgun in that game is so satisfying, it was always one of my favorites.
×3 grenades Juggus and Martydom w1200 was juicy when people started quickscoping back on CoD 4.. loved it.. especially on ground war Crash
I remember me and a friend I used to play with a lot on the original would find a spot on each map and he’d snipe while I guarded him with a shotgun.
Needless to say every game was back to back wins
BO4: the only shotgun that can get a 1 shot kill is the slowest firing and needs 2 attachments
CoD Ghosts: the game’s “spam” shotgun can get a 1 shot kill if you’re close enough
...whether I’m a shotgun player depends on whether the game makes it possible.
Punisher Mode: Get a 5 streak with the G36C, then get a 5 streak with just the 1911, then with the W1200, then the SAW, then the MP5. You must obtain a 5 streak with all 5 different weapons and the catch is that all 5 must be from their own class. Can you do it? All must be in one game/round
The USAS in bf3 with explosive rounds before the patch was the definition of OP

Required a carefully planned yet very aggressive playstyle to really perform well...
The correct terminology is 'cartridges' the type of shot is held within the 'cartridge' i.e. birdshot is small pellets, buckshot is slightly larger and a slug is a singular projectile.

The M1014 in MW2 is probably my favorite shotgun of any game. Sure, it doesn't fill a niche as elegantly as the SPAS-12 does for one-shot potential, or the Striker & AA12 do for spam-ability, but the M1014 neatly fills in the gaps. Just a great all-round shotgun with no downsides (that it doesn't share with other shotguns).
Never liked that they reduced the M1014's magazine capacity to 4 shells in the multiplayer
I’m a big shotgun user. I have a defense and camp shotgun when our team is getting horribly beaten and an offense shotgun for playing really bad teams and getting a good extreme conditioning jump on close quarter maps.

The M1014 is an underrated powerhouse. Shotguns were quite overshadowed in this game, but could be your best choice on maps like vacant.

I've always been a shotgun guy, which is why I used to hate the call of duty series. Those beautiful shotties never got any respect or love or so forth. But all that changed when I got modern warfare, I tell ya, one of the most satisfying pump-actions I've ever had in an FPS.
You should do a video on mw2 now using the upgraded m1014
After using the AA-12 and the Spas-12 in Modern Warfare 2, the Remington from Black Ops 2 and the Brecci from Black Ops 3, the shotguns in this game just don't compare lol.
Doesn't mean they are bad though. Those other shotguns are just ridiculously OP.

In COD4 I used to shotgun rush a lot in S&D back in the day, feel like the game has changed a bit now though.. or I've grown out of that aggressive play style "^_^

First off slugs are in shells. Shells are what you insert into the shotgun. What those people were trying to refer to is what is called "shot"

Just FYI Marley, ADSing on shotguns in MWR doesn't actually tighten the spread of the pellets so you're better off just hip firing.
as someone who owns a actual shotgun, video game shotguns are severely nerfed, video games treat the pellets like they disintegrate midair, or at the very minimum, spread to a ungodly level, when in reality, you can actually pretty easily hit targets from even 50 yards away, well really depending on the shell, birdshot youll hit everything but probably just piss it off, buckshot is alot easier to miss, but really screws up the target, and slugs are just normal very large bullets, ungodly large, but defeats alot of the purpose

On the shells vs slugs comment. All shotgun rounds are shells. What matters is what is in the shell. So the KSG has slugs, which is just one solid ball. Every other shotgun shell type has some kind of spread. Such as birdshot or buckshot which each have a different number of balls of different sizes.
