Very clean. But I’m not sure this book (at this point, not saying that can’t change) is a vehicle to win a Sanford. It feels more like a traditional Cadets/Boston book, unlike the previous two, which had trickier space to navigate.
To me Boston's battery books always feel like they aren't a part of a total musical effort. It's like they are written to impress the lot lizards; difficulty for the sake of difficulty, and not a musical need. Having said that they play the absolute dogs hit out of it.
I see and hear a fantastic, complimentary, dynamic, music-accentuating percussion book that these battery percussionists are playing to the hilt! In short, I’m loving what I’m hearing & what I’m seeing. This is the cleanest line I’ve ever heard.
