AIFF chief Kalyan Chaubey's remark that the federation is looking towards Rajasthan in search of taller players, has left fans and former footballers in the region unimpressed.

In other countries players are 6'4 and can trap the ball like cushion feet. In India players who are 6 foot above send the ball from Kashmir to Kanyakumari with their touch.

The AIFF president seems to have little knowledge of football and lack of professionalism. There should not be politics in sports. So far crores of taller Rajasthani guys couldn't produce any remarkable players at the national level. Backdoor appointments should not be there in any sports field. Politics destroyed the Indian wrestling organization and now slowly creeping into the football and cricket field also.

@@josepradeep679 even though average height is less. In reality India has more physical advantage due to our diversity.
In defensive position, Indian players( Gurpreet 6'6 and Jhingan 6'4) are much taller and are on par with European. Japanese/Korean defensive players are only 6 foot. Now in attack smaller players have advantage of more balance and agility which Northeast players have advantage.
But the skill, technical abilities and tactical abilities of Japanese/Korean is just too much for Indian physical diversity to matter
