- The NC State Wolfpack won a thriller in their rivalry game against North Carolina, beating the Tar Heels 30-27 in double overtime. Wolfpack quarterback Ben Finely completed 27 of 40 passes for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead NC State to the win. Devin Carter led the receivers with 130 yards and a touchdown. Ten different Wolfpack receivers caught passes in the game. Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye threw for 233 yards and a touchdown, but also threw an INT in the loss. Antoine Green caught 8 balls for 67 yards and the only TD pass for the Tar Heels.

Ol' Lard Gut Brown manages to rip defeat from the jaws of victory... once again! After the incredible win against a playoff lock (just two short weeks ago UNC was in the 4-team NCAA playoff), overachieving Wolfpack Coach Dave Doeren expressed his feelings in the postgame locker. His team was down to its 4th-string QB, however, he maintained "We never panicked. I looked across the field and saw their coach, and I knew we had a chance." "Their coach," of course, is legendary choker Mack "Lard Gut" Brown, who does less with more than perhaps anyone in the history of college football. Choke is putting it mildly. Brown's paper tigers rolled over on the field and played pussy-- er possum, which is a trademark of all of Mack Brown's teams. His 5-star blue chip filled team 9-1 two short weeks ago. But now won't even play in a major bowl game. Vegas says Clemson is a 50-pt. favorite for next week's ACC Championship, and a stunned Brown had to be airlifted from his own field post game as his adult X-large pampers had sprung a leak after his kicker missed a game-tying chippie in the second OT.. The 350-lb. Tar Heel skipper went into a coma after the game, screaming over and over in a high-pitched squeal: "Bob Stoops! It was the ghost of Bob Stoops again, I tell ya!!!"

Even with a Clemson team with a terrible QB and a defense that is weaker than it has been in years, UNC could very well lose that game, the bowl game, and close this season losing 4 in a row.
The outcome of this game is not surprising. Carolina is the most mediocre 9-1 team coming into this game. They squeaked out more close games this year against poor teams with one of the weakest strengths of schedule in a Power 5 conference. This was going to happen sooner or later and now it has been two weeks in a row.
