The Catfish Chronicles - Houchins Cat Lake 1 & 2

- At the beginning of May, Simon, Gareth, Duncan and myself all headed down to Houchins in Essex for what turned out to be yet another session full of fun, laughs and big cats!
Gareth and Duncan were fishing Cat Lake 2 whilst Simon and myself were on Cat Lake 1 and whilst we all caught, it was Duncan who managed a couple of really special ones, including a massive new UK PB over the magical 100lb mark!

Really glad you enjoyed it. We're back at Houchins again at the start of May next year so hopefully there'll be more action for the cameras then.
In the meantime, if you haven't seen it already then have a watch of the Woods Lake trip. We all managed some great cats between us

Well done lads, Houchins is a cracking venue, I do think they should retire that big girl though, poor things coming out 3 times a week.
She does seem to enjoy a trip or two to the bank at the moment but hopefully as time goes on she'll adjust fully to her new environment and the captures will start thinning out a bit.
It's possible that coming from being the only cat in her old lake to then having to compete amongst others for food that she's just trying to eat anything and everything she comes accross to try and assert as much dominance as possible over the smaller cats.
It's difficult to say really but she's still fighting fit and looking well other than the marks around her mouth and she's also holding weight ok now that she's settled from the initial lake move as that's usually the first thing to drop away from a big fish should it start going downhill health wise.
I'm sure if anything needs to be done further down the line then Tony will do whatever is needed but hopefully she'll just find her own balance with it all in time

Massive thanks mate, that means a lot. There were certainly plenty of laughs had. I didn't realise quite how many there were until I watched all of the footage back and they were just the ones that were caught on film 😅
