      MattoSkuper - His real name is Izuku Midoria. The name Deku came from his Bully Bakugou (the blond spiky haired boy with an explosion quirk) when he learns Deku and Izuku is similar, and says that Deku means weak.

    I guess Death Note or Onepunchman would suit them more, nothing against your parents. I am a big my hero academia fan myself but i can see that it wont really affect specific age groups.

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад +9

      Until they tell me they don't want to watch it anymore, I can't really force them to stop ya' know?
      I can definitely see that the show is not the best suited for them the more I look at it. I keep seeing Death Note so that'll be the fallback show if they want to stop watching My Hero.

    Why do people have so many issues with him crying? It's called being emotional... :c

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад +100

      Yeah but my dad was raised quite differently and was taught that "A man never cries". It's just a cultural difference, that's all.

    • @Carsu12
      @Carsu12 6 лет назад +24

      Free World I think you miss the point. His dad doesn't know all those details, all he sees is Izuku crying whenever he gets slightly emotional. Just like MattoSkuper said, he was raised with a preconception that men shouldn't cry. Why are ppl getting so worked up about ppl being annoyed by this anyway?

    • @Carsu12

    I find it to be an admirable quality in a character to be able to express their emotions truthfully and that would be bawling and geeking out in Midroiya's case - although he does develop as he has to, presumably becoming the fledgling symbol of peace.

    The kid's been bullied, tormented and practically an outcast in his life so far. And when he finally gets acknowledged by his role model, you expect him not to cry?
    Grown ass adults cry when they win awards. Then, no one complains.

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад +101

      You have to look at from my Dad's perspective: He was raised in a VERY tough life and goes by "old school" rules when it comes to being a guy/man; they don't cry or get emotional. He's a retired cop of 20 years and a 5 year suicide/accidental homicide investigator(he's seen some things people shouldn't have to see).
      I'm sorry that you don't agree with what he said but I'm just giving you a different view on his thoughts.

    Your mom critisized Deku for being stupid for running into a dangerous situation. However, it's part of a fight-or-flight reaction. The usual response is freeze/flight, however the fight reaction sometimes wins out, especially when someone close to you is in danger. Deku's fight-or-flight response seems to be especially strong.

    • @InFlames1412
      @InFlames1412 5 лет назад +1

      That means that people like Deku are present in real life and although regarded as fools, they are sort of heroes. She on the other hand is like a deer, whenever there is danger, run. There is nothing wrong with that, all humans are created different.

    MHA is 100% an amazing anime!. Its extremely difficult for much older ppl to understand the overall culture & meaning of anime. No offense to ur parents, but they r the epitome of what i stated. Hopefully they prove me wrong so lets find out after their next reaction 👌

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад +7

      I honestly don't think they'll drop this but if they do, I'll add Parasyte to the list. And yeah I've already had to explain to them off camera that Izuku cries a crapton throughout the series. Hopefully it doesn't ruin any scenes.

    They may have some difficulties in understanding the "unrealistic set" story set at this age.

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад +6

      Yeah it’s always a hoop to jump through. My dad liked Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex because it was more serious and “realistic” per se. More down to earth is another way to phrase it.
      Though I can say that they’re following the story decently well, kinda surprising me a little.

    Really liked your dad’s reaction to All Might recommending a police officer job, especially knowing your dad used to be an ex-officer.
    And hopefully your parents like the next episode enough to continue onto the fourth episode. That’s when the action picks up, and they’ll be far enough into the show to get a good enough feel if they like the show or not.

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад +7

      Yeah his reaction to that made me laugh slightly off camera. Lol.
      And I hope so too because the show is really worth it in the end, imo. I really do think they will continue the show, only based on what I know catches their interests.

    Thank you so much for making this series ! I have been searching for something like this, to distract me from my life . See, I have many mental disorders, one of them being adhd (Attention Defficate Hyperactive Disorder) and, I also have bipolar . This can lead to depression, and this kind of stuff, is the only thing that keeps me from my violent fidgeting (Giving my arm really bad hickeys, scratching my wrists, and hitting my head, and chest violently) all of this resulting in cuts, and bruises . So thank you so much ! You truly are an amazing person ! And you have made my day ! I know you won't read this though .

    Lets be honest this thing is made for kids & Ghost in The Shell is for an older crowd. Shounnen tends stick to a formula to grab The Little boys heart. Makes sense for an Adult to be interested in sth more mature & challanging rather Than emotionaly driven

    • @Two-FoldStudios
      @Two-FoldStudios  6 лет назад

      Completely agreed. I was just talking with my Dad late last night about watching the second season of SAC, since we never got around to it. Would have to find time to watch it, though. Both of us work a day job.

    • @yugoxgc

      MattoSkuper yeah thats Adult life for ya. Hard to find time for these things. I think he might also like Psycho Pass. Another More Mature thing that expects more from you than running along the emotional pull

    • @dildry9317
      @dildry9317 6 лет назад +3

      Fuck mature shit,The more I watch it the more I realize most of the meh stuff is psuedo intellectual nonsense and only the best shows are actually somewhat good.
      If you want to watch mature tv go watch HBO Rome or other niche stuff that is actually mature.Sit your ass down if you think you are intellectually above shounen watchers because you watch the Walking Dead or Evangelion.

    • @yugoxgc
      @yugoxgc 6 лет назад

      Dildry I never said Im intelectually above shounnen. This is my number 1 favourite show some ppl just prefer more adult stuff. Boku no Hero is one of if not the Best shounnen cause it does every core shounnen thing right rather than deconstructing it. & I wouldn't throw shade at more adult things the really good ones are mostly focused on challanging & provoking thought which I love. Personally I tired of ppl hailing some things for the greatest in their genre for just deconstructing it. Thats cheap shit.
      & Quite frankly Im tired of both Evangelion & HxH. Over 40 episodes & I got just tired of the laid back mc who really only got actually invested & dedicated in the plot when his childish ego got a bruse. & The single 1 guy thats truely crazy motivated by his goals is just a side character Ugh. ...
      Sorry Im just really sick of the HxH hype. Idk it just gets on my nerves that sth this over hyped couldn't get me invested more after 40 episodes than every freaking shounnen around within the 1st episode =_=

    I know you probably feel a little frustrated that they, more so your mom lol, don't "feel for it" as much as you or I do...because for instance, I've been showing my mom Dragon Ball, showed her Z first, and throughout it the things she would say were not key points, usually...they were just little things, unimportant features of the animation, or the voices, how they looked, acted etc....like she was completely missing all of the big points and underlying subliminal messages because she was just seeing the "surface" of what it had to offer...and well...you'll come to find the things we see, our perceptions, though many people share similar depth, clarity, etc...it is not the case for many others......and there are SO many reasons as to what could make someone miss what they just aren't seeing, or even if it's right there in their face still overlook it.. I like to think education would help, but the person has to see reason to even begin to "do smarter"/"respond smarter"/wiser etc..and even then, at no one's fault, sometimes it's just out of reach for some to "get it"...I reserve hope they can, but..in the mean time I don't want to be oober pissed off that they don't lol (believe me I feel the frustration OFTEN when things I try to share or show other people...)...I'll just do my best to keep cool and find a better way to convey what I'm trying to show someone.... Anywho...hope you have a good day! peAce. : )( :

    dub ruined original feelings, no wonder they are not so into it, a lot of people cry at this episode ,me as well, but when I watched dub version of this episode I don't feel a shit, the voice acting just not serious at all, and so unatural

      I'm indifferent to it. I like it and the Japanese dub. Though as a native English speaker, a good dub is always my choice. To each their own in the end.

      As a non native English speaker I can say that the BNHA dub is one of the few anime dubs that is actually good, though, it doesn't deliver a good performance on the emotional parts as the japanese dub does,plus, they have Nobuhiko Okamoto doing Bakugo's voice in the Japanese dub, that guy is incredible, but as you said, to each their own, I'm completely fine with the dub and your videos are still great.

      Okay, the argument ends here. Everyone has different opinions on what they like, leave it at that. The next person to contribute to this discussion gets a ban. Okay? Okay.

    reason why i hate dub, its because it removes the awesomeness of the anime. :\ but its a great video.
