Trying New Vegan Food Options at Universal Orlando Resort & Park Updates!

- In today's vlog we head to Universal Orlando to check out the new vegan food options at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We start at Louie's where they have Spaghetti Bolognese with plant-based Gardein Italian sausage crumbles, then we head to Richter's Burger Co. for the Impossible Burger, a plant-based burger served with a side of fries. This was our favorite meal that we had, it was very tasty and the patty had a lot a flavor! Next we head to Diagon Alley in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to see what the Leaky Cauldron had to offer and they did have a vegan vegetable platter dish, however it's not on the menu so you'll have to ask for it if it's something you'd like to try. We also check out the all new Globus Mundi store that is now open, they have lots of cool Hogwarts Railway merch as well as Globus Mundi merch. We then head over to Islands of Adventure to see what vegan eats they have and we start with Cafe 4. They have the Spaghetti Bolognese with plant-based Gardein Italian sausage crumbles. Captain America Diner has the Impossible Burger and Burger Digs in the Jurassic Park area has a Chick’n & Avocado Sandwich with plant-based Gardein Chick’n and Follow Your Heart American cheese served with a side of fries. Mythos had the Plant-Based Tomato Pesto Cresto de Gallo Gardein Chick’n, sundried tomato, roasted mushrooms, Kalamata olives, fresh basil. We had a lot of fun checking out the new vegan options and trying a couple of them too! We did like the Impossible Burger the best but we can't wait to go back and try some of the things we missed this time! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

For Love of the Mouse THEYRE SO GOOD. I’m vegetarian and when I want a burger an impossible burger is a really great substitute!! They fall apart no matter how well done it’s cooked

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to buy a Pop! figure at Universal....don’t. You can find the exact same ones at Target, Walmart, etc. for less than half the price.
Exactly universal just gets some of the same stuff as walmart and target but adds 5 to 10 dollars to the price

I'm not a vegan but I wanted something a bit lighter and I had the vegan chicken avocado sandwich from Burger Digs and I thought it was absolutely delicious. I'm so sad you guys didn't like it :( I'd say definitely put some ketchup and pickles on it that would have probably helped.

I love that universal is now taking more consideration when it comes to vegans and vegetarians. The beyond burger is so delicious. Could you guys do a video for Disney locations as well? Id like to see what options there are.

Great video! I was there in August and me and my family are vegan. There appears to be much more choice now, even since then! There was no impossible burger anywhere in the parks and the chickenless burger was also missing. All we found was a wrap and a mushroom burger. VooDoo doughnuts do loads of vegan options though!

OH MY GOSH!!!!! We were there yesterday too...we're visiting from Australia and we were hoping to bump into you guys ❤ I'm really loving this vegan series as I'm vegan and my daughter is vegetarian. I had the vegan chicken burger yesterday at Mel's Diner, didn't like it at all..the patty was like rubber. I had the Pad Thai (vegan option) at Mythos today for lunch and really enjoyed that. I had the veggie sandwich at Bread Box Hand Crafted Sandwiches for dinner on the way out today and I also enjoyed that, I had the cheese and butter removed to make it vegan. Such a bummer we didn't see you guys 😞Love your videos, thanks for sharing xoxo
I forgot to mention that we also had the mezze platter at Mythos which was nice too. If other vegans are looking for nice restaurant at Universal, Mythos is the place to go.

I was there in June and it looks like they’ve added options. Mythos only had options that could be made vegan but no dedicated vegan option. So glad they’re expanding!
I'm used to meat-replacement products coming with an increased cost. I'm just glad to see more and more restaurants offering these options. The Impossible Burger is incredible.

Another great vegan snack option is the kebob quick service close to the train station in IOA! You can get an order of hummus with pita read, celery and carrots; it's pretty good hummus and only $4.99!
I know a lot of people will appreciate this vlog! Even if you don’t eat a strict vegan diet, these options are often a bit lighter than typical park food. Thanks for posting!

liberatedfish how is avacado not vegan? It comes from a tree. Because it's technically a fruit? Then tomatoes aren't vegan either. :)
@@WildeNight Avocados (as well as kiwi, almonds, butternut squash) all use bees in their production so it is the same reason as to why honey is not vegan.
liberatedfish huh. Most of the plants in my own garden rely on pollinators of some kind to be fruitful. I don't know if I could restrict myself to such a limited choice of foods to consume.
Is that similar to how some people don’t consider figs to be vegan as well? So interesting!
@@WildeNight Avocados etc are very hard to cultivate naturally, particularly on a mass production scale. So masses of bees are often brought in and then made to 'work' in the production of these. That's why some people don't consider them vegan but others do. it depend entirely on the person and what degree they do not want animals exploited in the production of their food. So some people would be fine with this, whereas others wouldn't consider this burger a vegan burger.

I love when you guys do meat-free meals. I became a vegetarian when I was 12, so it’s nice to see more meals in the parks that I would actually eat. That being said, I agree with you on the Gardein “chicken”. I don’t know what it is about it, but I much prefer the Quorn or MorningStar “chicken” to the Gardein brand. Just a head up the vegan dish at mel's is the same from burger digs,but mel's does cook it with season salt so it not to bland. Love your videos!!!

Wahlburgers has an impossible burger that has spicy tomatoes and it is delicious. We took friends there that can't eat meat and they loved it. Though they were eating meat.
I'm glad y'all liked the Impossible burger! I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I LOVE Impossible patties so much. We have a local chain burger restaurant that sells them.

You should do a compilation of all city walk vegan options. Maybe visit each restaurant on different days and merge your experiences into one video ? You could also do a vegan city walk series. I’d watch it ether way. 👌🏼

The burger at Mel’s Diner is the same chick’n one with avocado. I had it at HHN, I agree that it could have used a bit more seasoning.

Gardein has a lot of options you can find in local store most are decent gardein is soy bean based the crumbles in soups and chili you cannot tell the difference to meat...beyond meat is pea protein based the "impossible" burger is soybean as well and looks and tastes amazing. Vegan cheese not so much...hope this helps

Vegan sausage crumbles got me through some tough times. When I struggled with disordered eating they helped me overcome some fear foods!!

Thanks so much for making vegan videos!!! It’s so exciting to see universal Orlando offer vegan options. When my husband and I went in 2016, we had to bring our own food into the park and rent a locker to store it. I think it’s great to see the normalization of vegan food by non vegan vloggers, it makes us feel less isolated.

I am a big burger person, I could never be a vegan, but that Impossible is WONDERFUL! I'm always looking for healthy burger options and the Impossible burger fits the bill. Just wish we could buy them at the supermarket! Great vlog as always! Thank you!
You guys missed some options over at Lost Continent. There's falafel gyros over at Fire Eaters and there's also veg kebab and hummus over at the Kebab House. Maybe they are just vegetarian and not vegan but I think it's a decent "no meat" option.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing another vegan video!! UNIVERSAL ORLANDO VEGANS is a great group on Facebook and Instagram to follow! Also, voodoo donuts have 13 varieties of vegan donuts! Oh and they didn't cook the chicken properly at burger digs. Gardein is a wonderful plant based brand. They have tons of things, and all the chicken items are really good. Don't let that experience deter you. Love you guys!!

I don’t know if a specific website for vegan options at universal but there is a Facebook page called “universal Orlando’s vegans “ and they talk allot about options at the parks.

Very informative blog.... the vegan stuff is not for me but I like your approach how you advice your viewers. Keep it up... perhaps you could do some blogs about hotels off property and the transportation from and to the parks.... not everybody want to use a car. Perhaps start in Kissimmee at some hotels.... what do they offer, transport to mall's etcetera. I did it in the period 2009 till 2013. Used airport hotel the Mears transport. And had to figure out what public transportation system was in place.... so you have some ideas for some blogs. Btw the hotels farther away from Disney are cheaper.

Our vegan family loved watching this-thanks heaps for doing vegan trips. The Gardein chicken style are usually fried up nice and crispy in our house-it looked like they had just microwaved the ones on the burger-which would be gross, unfortunately. Anyhow love all your vids, we watch them all :D
