So happy to see you back. Missed your video's. All the best, Sean
+Sean Mooney Hi Sean, appreciate it. All the best, Simon
Nice!
Thank you!
Nice one. When using marked thread for rib I often like to spin bobbin clockwise to cord thread. Great video and instruction as always. Thx!!
+Larry Banda Hi Larry, cording the thread is also a good idea that I would use more on nymphs. Here I wanted to get a more faded effect like a natural quill. Thank you very much
I checked out that aero dry wing on eBay. I can only get it from the UK and they want 11.98 U.S. dollars for it. not including the shipping! That makes it very expensive for what it is. I have found it you wet the polypropylene yarn and use a weight and let it straighten out the fibers it works pretty well. I tried an iron with most towel around it but it stuck together. Just a tip if you can't get the Aeor dry wing. All the best, Sean
Yes this stuff is quite expensive. In Europe it's a little bit easier to get hold of. But any poly yarn usually works. Nice tip with the straightening!
You might also try holding a long length over the steam of a boiling kettle and stretch it to straighten it.
appreciate your talents.wonderful detail in all your videos.just curious, most videos your tying with the snowbee wich i cant afford anyways but this vise probably a regal demonstrates lack of hook bend clearance when attaching materials.truelly the advantage of using finer point jaws.Still using the snowbee?
Thank you very much Dan, I really appreciate your comment. The vise I use most often is the Petitjean Master Vise but the Regals I've started tying on more and more and they're really good vises. Yes with the one I'm using in the video and the way I positioned it, I did not have so much room. The best jaws to use for smaller flies are the stainless steel ones.
