Amico's Bakery on Dufferin and Lawrence has really great Sicilian style pizza. It's great to see someone showcasing the other pizza shops in Toronto than just Pizzeria Badiali. If you want to try something different, Slowhand Sourdough Pizza on Pape and Queen Streer East is another great option 👌.

Thanks for the recommendation! I have featured both Badiali’s and Slowhand, I do like Badiali’s but I agree, it’s already very popular now and has long lineups. On the otherhand Slowhand is amazing and it should get even more attention, selfishly though, I’m glad it doesn’t have the long lineups 😅

Frescas used to be known as Massimos, way back in the day when I went to school right behind it. Their pizzas were pretty awesome back them too.

I'VE TRIED IT WHEN IT WAS MASSIMO'S AND NOW FRESCA - NEEDS MORE SAUCE, TOO DRY.

Little history. The father was a pizza maker for the Massimo brothers who started Fresca back in the 1980s.

Cool....totally remember 'Massimo's waaaaay back in the day. If I remember correctly, they shut down the place cuz of an in-house fire.
THEN.....crust was more traditional style - better crisp and chew. NOW.....garlic-oil brushed up on top of the slice is f.ckin bomb.

Toronto style pizza is dirty, unsanitary, and dives. No gloves worn, spatula's left in dirty dusty areas, watch preparer talk and spit flying on the pizza. Why do pizzerias in Italy, NY, Boston, even Buffalo use gloves and face masks ? Even places in Mexico got better sanitary practices than Toronto !

    • @stephenstuckey
