    I got my retainers adjusted. But the upper became loose. And the gap between my teeth is not closing, it's getting bigger.

      @@flomerlitatopinio8894 I believe they’re saying go back to the dentist/orthodontist and have them readjust it. I had to do this as well. Usually they tell you to come back as soon as you notice a problem with the retainer so it can be readjusted before your teeth shift too much.

      Yeah. My dentist was in a hurry because she was having a headache. I was her last client. So I guess she didn't have time to check my fitting any further.

    Thank you for sharing this video online.
    I recently got my spring retainers and the third week the top mouth retainer - the left k-9 side - feels uncomfortable when I talk. The best way to explain it is when I’m smiling and then retract my smile I can feel it against my mouth.
    Do you suggest I need an adjust? I feel like my ortho didn’t explain much to me when or how often to get my retainers adjusted. I’m new to retainers and need them for minor teeth shift.

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  3 месяца назад +1

      I think you should mention the discomfort to your doc? It could be SO many things!! Usually this resolves after you wear full time for at least a month.

      @@Straightsmilesolutions Appreciate the comment.
      Literally came back from a follow up appointment. My Ortho said to “get used to it” and provided a short explanation as to how if he shifts the loop along the k-9 tooth it’ll start to impact my gums.
      Luckily his assistant provided me a strip of wax and showed me how to apply the wax to the retainer in case the discomfort becomes too much.

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  2 месяца назад

      Depends on what kind of hawley and it also depends on the bite- no guarantees. Take a look at the content I have here- ruclips.net/video/WL6gA5Q9CB4/видео.html

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  2 месяца назад

      Best suggestion is to toss it in invis or clearcorrect first to check interference and to see if it's even POSSIBLE as single arch and then if you want to try the wrap-retainer you can TRY but this would be a NO GUARANTEES thing, they would need to sign for that. Also no refunds. Full time wear for 3-4 months with a few adjustments? Most adults won't wear that. Aligners are way easier

      good question for each aligner company it's different but for Align when they say 20 it's 40 total: 20 upper/20 lower
      Sets of 20. that's mod in the US.

    I have a small tooth gap in my 2 front teeth. Where would I have to tighten for the gap to go away?

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  3 года назад +1

      Your dentist or orthodontist will tighten your braces or retainer to close the gap but only if there's overjet to do it.

    Hi! I was given a Hawley retainer to help close a posterior open bite. I am a week in, and it has pushed my front top and bottom teeth in, to where everything is extremely tight and uncomfortable. I noticed that the hard acrylic underneath is flush to all teeth, EXCEPT the front four top and bottom teeth. Could that have been done on purpose to push them inward to tighten my bite, or should they be flush to ALL teeth? Not sure what the norm is for these retainers, even though I had one years ago and do not remember feeling any movement inward like this, or any at all. Thanks!

    My teeth shifted a little bit after braces and i was given this retainer i used it for some time ( inconsistently tho ) then left it for like a month or more then I started wearing it again ( inconsistently) but now i’ve decided imma wear it consistently and the wire is touching my front teeth and there is pressure ( with some pain ) but my question is how is it still fitting normally after all this time of not wearing it ? Am I missing out on something?

      You may not have clearance? It only works if you have clearance to do it (and if it's tight enough). If no clearance, you need ortho to retract the lower teeth to get clearance. Any orthodontist can explain more.
