  • Learn how to create designer looks by simply adding faux leather to your crochet projects! In this video I show you step-by-step how I made this adorable boho crochet bag by crocheting into faux leather squares, taking an otherwise ordinary motif crochet bag to extraordinary levels.
With just a few simple items from your local craft store, you can begin adding faux leather and vinyl materials to your crochet projects, from wearables to bags to crochet accessories and more. I have no doubt you will see the endless possibilities to create more projects using my simple method for crocheting into fabrics like faux leather!
To skip the ads and have a printable pdf of this pattern, you can find it in both my Etsy and Ravelry shops.

-Bernat Home Maker Dec yarn, 100 yds Black and 100 yds Cream
-Size E 3.5 mm and size J 6.0 mm hooks (gauge is not imperative for this project)
-1 8 x 24 inch roll of camel-colored vinyl, or enough faux leather vinyl to make 3 8-inch squares (NOTE: the product I tagged from WayFair is only sold by the yard, which is much more than you will need, unless you plan to make several of these bags, and the link from Amazon gives you 8 x 12 sheets, so you would need two sheets for this project) amzn.to/3ObnHEY
-1 roll of Pellon Fusible Midweight Interfacing (you only need enough to cover the 3 8-inch squares)
-Iron, ironing board, and damp cloth (to attach interfacing to vinyl)

    Gauge:
Gauge is not imperative for this design, as this is based on a concept rather than exact stitches. If you would like to measure close to mine, my finished square prior to sewing the motifs together measures around 11.25 inches.
    Finished Measurements:
Finished bag measures approx. 16 x 16 inches at the largest measurements, not including the handle. The handle measures approx. 16 inches in length, but is adjustable to preference.
