Balraj Singh it's not Malhaar but Raag Bahar. They have the same swar mala but Raag Malhar is much more serious than the Raag Bahar as it is mainly played in Madhya and Mandar Saptak. Raag Bahar is more a Raag of sweetness and it is played mainly in Taar Saptak and Madhya Saptak.
I am very sorry for my earlier comment. I wasn’t that informed then. But this is definitely Bahar w. fragments of Basant as well in between. So the biggest key difference of Bahar and Malhar is that: Malhar goes - m P n D N Ś (Emphasizes Pa ) Bahar goes - g m n D N Ś (Emphasizes ma ) Everything that Charanjeet ji & Himmat ji said is accurate:)
