I love your floral fabric string of hearts! What a simple, feminine touch they are to the mantle, or to anywhere. The village houses are adorable. The soap and candle scents sound amazing. Your video is so refreshing.
In the late 1970s, my parents had a real Christmas tree. It was our first year in the new house and we had a tree from our property. It turned into pine needle hell, lol. The tree shed constantly. When it was time to toss it, the tree shed like an avalanche. They sold the house in 2002. My sister and I were helping pack and we actually found pine needles between the carpet and baseboards where the tree had been years before. The carpet had been changed at least 4 times over the years but the needles were just impossible to get rid of.
We also found little foam balls from a long gone beanbag, but that's another story.
Love having breakfast and watching a video from you. You brighten my day! The little houses are adorable and the heart garland is so sweet with the tiny floral prints. You mantle is so pretty in its simplicity! The roses look real!! Thank you for a lovely video to start my day! 🤗

I remember those wooden hearts. The new houses and hearts on a string are beautiful.
Last year I found a puzzle with vintage valentines, I found in the past stone hearts with “love” carved in each in different languages, I have silver doves with quotes from Elizabeth Barrett Browning about love on the outstretched wings. I love elegant and vintage valentine decorations. They bring warmth to winter.

I keep my Christmas decor until the 12th day after - Epiphany, & as I slowly add snowflakes & snowman items, I slowly put away all my Nativity things away & dismantle my tree! On MLK day, finally put all Christmas stuff away & start adding Valentine's Day decor with pink & red twinkling fairy lights & candles! I leave them up until last day of February & start on St.Patrick's Day, Spring, & Easter decor.

You have done it again Mary! So many cute ideas. I don't decorate for Valentine's Day but fabric heart garland is too sweet. Now I need to look for a pretty floral print to make my own garland. I love the houses and those roses look real. I like that you put a single flower in a single bottle. And these decorations could stay in place through spring, if desired.

Thought,,, years ago while helping at a fund raising bazaar I made reversible blocks with Merry Christmas and Welcome Friends.
That being said, if both sides of the houses were painted, you could do a Christmas village that reverses to a Valentines Village.

QUESTION ❤. Do you guys sometimes miss some of the ways you used to live as Amish? Meaning, my husband introduced me to oil lamps. We mainly have them in the kitchen and living room. After dinner I turn all electric lights off and do everything with the light of oil lamps. It relaxes me so much. Another thing is doing laundry by hand. I find it so therapeutic. Maybe it is because I’m such a fan of the good old times. The video that you’ve made the screen door was touching to me. You’ve made me realize when all is said and done these simple moments as the banging of the screen door really stay with us. You’ve made me realize something that what I may find annoying now some day I may miss so I better enjoy it all now . Thank you so much ❣️

Love your channel. A little cleaning tip for all the mantel greens. Lay a sheet down first then one trip with all the dried stuff and carry out. Works great.
