Thanks for the strategies, I think this will be useful for some levels like the night stages, especially for the fog levels and I think the survival stages. Great idea, thanks for the tip! :D
I always plant on the 2nd row first, then 3rd row -- or alternatively the 3rd row and 4th row. That way if the zombies breach all of your defenses and get to the sunflowers then your back-row defenses still have a chance to kill the zombies while they're eating sunflowers. You also should position your walnuts in a more forward position since that gives you a lot of room for expansion. Typically I like to combo up a walnut with a chomper since any zombies that attack the walnut will get eaten.
Even if i know all this games basics and know a bit more i LOVED the nice way you edited the video all these little chat balloons! its awesome! done very well! love it!
If you are on a very long leve, you can opt for up to three columns of sunflower and dig one column up for later. That third column is going to more than pay for itself. Also having a rake helps as well.
This is good. When you get to the later stages, 2 nice additions to your arsenal are the tall-nuts and the spikes that go on the floor. Lay those spikes down in front of the tall-nuts and the zombies incur loads of damage, especially when you have the set up used in this video. Happy planting!
Thanks for the strategy! I usually plant one line of sunflowers, have the first pea shooter and the ice one, I also use the vines for underwater snatching.
Insanely smart, i also focused very much on sun flower by using the first two vertical lanes for them But i had to plant them gradually as the game was on, Instead of planting all at once So thx
LOL!! Wow at least in adventure, you play exactly like me! The mines, the snow peas, everything! Our setup it's just so damn the same that while i watched the video i actually clicked a coin to grab it, that was hilarious.
How To Make A Perfect Yard For Protecting Plants All you need to do is put a garlic on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th row of your yard (I don't know about backyard level). On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th, Put sunflowers all the way, as you only need to put like some repeaters on the 2nd and 4th row, simple as that
I basically used this strategy for all the pool levels, except I preferred starting my fortification with the triple-peashooters. Put one on each side of the pool and you've got all 6 lanes covered. Then just expand from there. Also, when your average plant cost gets closer to 200 or so, you're better off with 3 layers of sunflowers. If you get to the point where your income is too high, just start removing sunflowers and add an extra layer of defense.
Good strategy, but at your level, you might want to replace the squasher for the jalapeno. Jalapeno will instantly kill an entire row, and melt the ice the Zomboni will make. by the time it shows up you'll have plenty of sun and since Zomboni doesnt show up very often the cooldown isnt a problem. Other than that, your strategy pretty looks like mine except that I usually expand beyond the Wall-Nuts if I have enough time.
this stages don't need 2x2 sunflowers i think one column is enough and by the way you don't need your potato mine close near the sunflowers maybe a you can plant a few feet away and it will explode in time but of all the crap i said i think you're strategy is good, nice and simple... GREAT JOB!!!
i love this game and what i like about it is the fact that its for all gaming consoles so that it doesent give xbox or ps3 or wii another reason to brag (well im not exactly sure if its for wii) and even if you can do stuff on certain game systems that you cant do on others then so what at least they make the game cheaper for those consoles ( i am talking about the smartphone)
I do almost the exact same thing that is done in the video except i only do 1 row of sunflowers, only potato mines for beginning, and maybe 2 or 3 wall-nuts, and i always end up with around 600 or so sun at the end.
3:23 You can place a Potato Mine there to save up sun and then after the zombie is blown up, you can place the snow pea into the space where the potato mine was planted. There is nothing wrong with your strategy anyway. In fact, it has helped me with some levels.
@itsagreenbanana They don't on any other version, either. Only flaming peas thaw zombies. Also, if a zombie is left without being frozen for a little while, it will thaw out on its own.
lol, I was thinking of making a video of my starting strategy, but I see your using exactly the same. Only difference is that I use a rake as well, so you'll need mine fewer.
almost the same as my strategy too, except i just prefer to make a third row of sunflowers on the lawn instead of putting them on top of the lily pads.
cool, we think alike on these strategies, cotez. but i don't use wall nuts as much, and used less potato mines. guess i should refine my strategy a little bit, huh?
if you want to play without having to plant every 5 SECONDS just do that plant sunflowers at the start, when a zombie appears just put a squash/potato mine/exploding cherry/jalapeno
the combining power of fireball and snoball is a bad idea because the snoball puts ice on zombie but fireball melts em.what i know already because it happen to me is that the ice not touched by fire makes the zombie slower but with fireball makes the zombie slower a little but not as slow as the untouched snow zombie
MY TIPSS: Basic Tips Sun, sun, and more sun. Plant as many sunflowers as quickly you can; two columns of sunflowers is a good foundation for your sun economy. Use cheap one-hit-kill plants like potato mines and squashes in the early stages of a level to give yourself time to plant more sunflowers. Chompers and wall-nuts work exceedingly well together. Wall-nuts on lily pads are effective against snorkel zombies. It takes two cherry bombs to take down a Gargantuar. Doom-shroom craters eventually fill in by themselves. Frozen zombies eat slower than non-frozen zombies. Puff-shrooms, being free, are extremely useful in nighttime levels. Conehead zombies take two and a half times more hits as regular zombies. Buckethead zombies take five times as many hits as regular zombies. Multiple snow-peas in a row don't slow zombies down more than one snow pea. Destroying graves with grave busters prevent zombies from emerging from them later. The number of flags in the lower right-hand corner of the screen gives you a rough idea how long the level will be. Roof cleaners are extremely handy items and are almost essential for beating the Pogo Party mini-game. Feeding a hypno-shroom to a dancer zombie forces him to summon backup dancers to help you. Torchwoods douse snow peas and fireballs unfreeze zombies. Wall-nuts help prevent shooter zombies from killing your plants in the ZomBotany mini-game. If you're having trouble with the Pogo Party or Bobsled Bonanza mini-games, try using the squash. Jalapenos destroy the Zomboni as well as its ice trail. Right-click during the Zombiquarium mini-game to tap on the glass. In Vasebreaker puzzles, try breaking the vases on the right side first. Dancer zombies, though expensive, can be very useful in the I, Zombie puzzles. Cattail spikes can pop balloon zombies' balloons. Magnet-shrooms can stop digger zombies by stealing their mining picks. Magnet-shrooms can be used to remove ladders from wall-nuts and tall-nuts. Cherry bombs can dislodge ladders from wall-nuts and tall-nuts. Tall-nuts are particularly useful against dolphin riders and pogo zombies. Zombonis, catapult zombies, screen door zombies and ladder zombies are all resistant to torchwood fire. In Survival mode, upgrade plants become more expensive the more you have on your lawn. Imps, though weak, can be surprisingly useful on I, Zombie puzzles. Later levels like the rooftop where the machine guns are useless? Not really, this setup it's ok, when terrain it's not your friend you just have to change the snow peas for kernel-pults, repeaters for cabagge-pults and either mines or squash for the ocasional umbrella and magnet, if any you'll need more slots. Machine guns and other upgraded plants are mostly intended for survival.
they should come out with a game called Zombies vs Plants.... Where you play as the zombies trying to seige a plant lawn fortress before the timer runs out :P
They give you lawn mowers in pool lanes if you haven't yet bought the pool cleaners. It only kills 1 zombie, so it's pointless. Pool cleaners can be found in the shop next to 8 slots at 0:02.
Personally, I think it's better to just wait for the sun to plant a peashooter. You'll need one anyways, and you won't waste extra $ on mines, even if sun production is decelerated a little.

You're trying to protect sunflowers using plants that by the time you have you don't need as much sun. Sunflowers are a defense in the same way nuts are, they just don't last as long. Shooters cost more than sunflowers and so are harder to replace. Having several rows of sunflowers gives the benefit of having more sun when it's needed most.

I normally don't use potato mines but the way you use them is pretty clever. I still like putting chompers behind wall-nuts though!

I like to plant double sunflowers along the top of the area, then put a garlic at the end so they don't get eaten.
You have the right idea with the potato mines, for the first 4 zombies just use potato mines, after that the cool down is too slow.
