I am Vietnamese American, and this video was a super treat. Some years ago, as a young girl, I traveled to Greece... and there in Athens was a "Pho" restaurant. My parents couldn't believe it. They were like: "How did they get here???" They will be amazed hearing about Vietnamese people in Morocco.
Majority of Vietnameses in Morocco are mixed moroccans you have to read the history of the Moroccans-Vietnamese and their region the village near Kenitra city The Sidi Yahya Elgherb Village.
I m Moroccan i was born in Belgium and i can see the Vietnam people are often very well educated, calm and realy discreet people, they never disturb an bother when they are in public place i realy appreciate their discretion
Thank you for the kind words but I think you just got lucky that’s all. Because actually people are just the same everywhere....there are good people and then there are bad ones too. It’s probably the environment that people grew up in too....etc.
The Vietnamese people have been thru so much over the last 70 years. They are so resilient and manage to keep a positive outlook on life. Wonderful to observe.
Awesome video !! I am from Casablanca and i didnt know about the Vietnamese Moroccans until 2 years ago. I was at Essaouira Music Festival smoking my joint on the beach when this guy, who i thought was a Chinese tourist ,approached me and asked me, in Moroccan Arabic, where he could buy some good hashish.I thought i was tripping ,he was also from Casablanca, so we did what Casablancans do and smoked that joint together. I learned later that the government gave the Vietnamese families lands for farming just outside of Casablanca , i visited that spot later and i met this old Vietnamese lady who must have been over 80 , she owned a large piece of land and and she would let some local men work on it and they would all split profit at the end of the harvest season. She wasn't born in Morocco, i couldn't understand anything she was saying but somehow the local farmers could communicate with her from a distance, and she's been a boss killing the game for 30 yrs .
Dozens of mixed Moroccan /Vitenamese families are established in Vietnam and in Morocco. During the War between France and Vietnam, Moroccans joined the Vietkong army after the King of Morocco, Mohammed V was jailed by the frenchs. Both people are really close, not in terms of culture or religion, but in terms of spirit : hard workers, great cuisines, respectful and so on.
I am Moroccan and married to a Vietnamese sweet lady. I really love Vietnamese food, it is so delicious! I have been to Vietnam once and I will tell you that Vietnamese don't know much about Morocco, but there are so nice! Great video Kyle.
From a Moroccan guy , who lived in america , i would like to say thank you to Kyle to be so open in the world and so understood abt our cultures (which i think it's not that far from the Vietnamese one ) and for all the Vietnamese around the world be proud of y'all culture , i saw some Vietnamese who's born in California or in america who are more into the american culture rather than their own Vietnamese culture . Y'all Vietnamese culture are beautiful , from the food to the hardworking people y'all should be proud and embrace more your beautiful culture and rich heritage , i love y'all , and i wish you all the Vietnamese people a beautiful day and maybe one day come to morocco and discover our beautiful country !

My mum use to take me to eat Vietnamese dishes when I was about for until the age of 20 when I left for France. There is plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in Casablanca and Moroccan cuisine have many Vietnamese influenced dishes. All Moroccans have great respect for the Vietnamese who came after the war. Best regards.

It's because we talk French in Morocco sometimes often than Arabic for those who grew up in a french talking family. Administrations banks stores markets everyone can speak or answer in French there. She went to the same school as me.
@@ohlalalalah no foreign kids do grow up speaking french, but Moroccan in their overwhelming majority speak Moroccan Arabic or other local dialects.
@@elnicedude559 I grew up speaking French first and my parents speak French most of the time. I spoke Arabic when I was twelve. And I'm not foreign I'm Moroccan 😉. Generation matter...
