Thanks for spreading the word about moss gardening. I know neighbours of mine thought I was strange for collecting it. It's far more sustainable if moss is used in dry shady areas of the garden than grass.

Lol your neighbors dont understand the beauty of moss yet. Moss is cool 💚
Thanks so much for this. It was exactly what I needed. I’ve been dying to have a living wall and was wondering how to harvest and take care of moss. And your voice and music create a beautiful experience.
Not only was I looking for how do something like this but this is whole video is so calming for me, the moss(obvi), your voice, the lofi beats ugh perfect
Thank you for the video Lala! I’ve been creating several little beautiful scenes with moss but they’ve all been turning brown despite frequent watering and low light. You gave me a great hint as to why! I’ve been using tap water and I think that must be why. I’ll use filtered water from now on! Thank you so much. I’ve otherwise been creating great little scenes with the moss by planting baby ferns and micro ivy that has red berries during the right time of year. I also lay acorns here and there to complete the gnome-like scenes! So much fun! Thanks again for your awesome video! 🙏🏻😊
You have me with a new interest. I was looking to find and keep moss for another project now I think I will collect and nurture moss. You have a lovely spiriyand voice to match, it's very calming. I love things in nature and I hope you will continue your videos. Thank you.
I love this, but remember not to take moss from live trees, because the trees need those, and it's really hard for trees to regrow their mosses if their lose their base layer!
@@nickledeepickle Do you have a source for that? Do all trees need moss? Or only certain species/genera? I never heard about a plant if I remember correctly that actually needs epiphytes. Epiphytes need other plants as phorophytes (carrier plants), but not vice versa. Epiphytes are even a small topic in the vegetation ecology exam I will write in a couple of days, so I just reviewed what I learnt about that. And if I didn't miss anything there was nothing about phorophytes needing epiphytes, much less trees needing mosses.
Oh my Godesses! I collected some moss today and just wanted to see how to maintain live moss for an art project. Suddenly I stumble across this super relaxing video. Thank you so much for the info! Also thank you for the presentation of it all!
If only human beings can behave like moss do; easy going, thrive wherever they are planted, and get along well with others, allowing others to also shine ✨
Oh jeez your in Moss heaven...I just Love Moss i pick up some 3 weeks ago and put them in a large Tray and so far so good....Try a spatula works out good 👍
I love how you mention not to use tap water due to chemicals but then use acrylic paint, which is loaded with toxic chemicals, lol. A little counter-intuitive.🤔 I do love this video, tho. Very cool.👍 Thanks for sharing!
I was wondering if moss could be planting on the top of my house plants? I hate looking at the soil in my house. I have tried white pebbles but these soon discolour.
This is a really good idea but you have to be careful when it comes to taking moss because moss takes time to grow and if you take large portions of moss from the patches you are disturbing the environment there is a lot of moss in forests or parks so you don’t have to be greedy with the moss patches just take little amounts of the moss at a time but this is pretty cool
Ok. So I just ordered some moss and was thinking about what to do. The tray is a really good idea. Thank you. I will try to go out to a forest preserve and collect some ( if allowed) 🙏🏼🕊
I would recommend starting with moss that grows near and around your neighborhood as they are more acclimated to the conditions in and around your house. Typically if you take from an established forest and bring it to a suburban or urban location its much harder to get them to acclimate and often will dry out or die off because of the air or water quality.
just came across your video as I am looking to grow my own moss, mainly pin cushion moss. In Germany and England it is not allowed to go into the woods and just take moss. Whilst people do it, you dont want to be caught. It is protected.
Wow, this is BEAUTIFUL!! I need to find moss and create something like this! Ive been craving to do more DIY so this is perfect, just gotta go on the hunt for moss hehe! Thanks for sharing!! ☺️💛

Thanks 😊 and yeah moss is amazing, I’m glad this video sparked some diy ideas in you
Very great ideas. I'm plant to design a moss but I check and see only artificial👎 which I don't like. I love natural like this💓 Thank you🙏 for sharing and I will do it for my channel too.
I love it, yes I plan on making a moss tray, but I thot you said you can grow moss in doors? Yet you showed us outdoor mossy project trays, if we put them in doors will it do great? And for how long? Do you have to fertilizer the moss and wen?
Thank you! I just got some moss from someone, how do I get it to grow more? Do I just put it in a place with dirt and it will cover the first eventually? Soil, I mean
Thats great ... I collect moss as well... Very interesting...

Thank you and wow you are a bonsai channel. I loveeee bonsai trees. I have one at the moment and plan to get more. A flame tree/royal poinciana is one my list. Is there a certain type of moss needed for bonsai trees? I plan to repot my bonsai in the spring and would love to add moss.
So calming to watch! Did you keep these indoors? I want to make some but I’m afraid of bringing bugs into my home lol how can I keep bugs out? I saw someone said to submerge the moss in water for some hours to kill any insects, do you have any thoughts on this? Thanks! Would love to see an update on how they’re doing. Lovely video

Thank you and yeah I keep them indoors. And yes I think it would be best to fully submerge the moss to get all the bugs out. Even double clean it. And yeah I can do an update one of these days 😊
I have collected a small amout of moss like really small I thoke it from the midle of the moss patch and left after a long wile my moss havse bben spreading and and growing crazy
sister if you bake rhe soil it not only kills unwanted bacteria but all the beneficial bacteria and also beneficial insects like springtails.. and you may have fungus and mold problem.. already the soil is good in condition for any plants and a healthy ecosystem is easily established.. 😊
I have a question! How do you keep the moss from drying out? From what I’ve experienced moss thrives in closed terrariums but every time I make something like you made here, it almost always dries out. Does the same happen for you?
Do you mean moss ball as in a marino moss ball? I recently got one of those 😊If you're talking about a marino moss ball, those should be submerged in water like in a bowl or even an aquarium.
You have the right intention but I dont like how after you just take the moss from its home you dont pat the moss that you lifted and left behind you should pat it down after you take some away from its home moss takes years to grow. Please consider doing it that small favor as it's doing you one :)
Was walking at the park yesterday on a public footpath and saw a small patch of green moss, decided to pinch it up and got told off by a Karen woman for trying to steal public property 😅
I bet people who love moss and people who love cottage core are the only people who truly understand eachother.
Hahahhaaa yeahhhh
What about people who like cottage cheese?
Idk i dont fewl theyre related really
I never knew how beautiful my moss was until I found it outside and took a closer look. I literally love nature☘️🌸
Literally?

My philosophy, if someone doesn't like it, that's just to damn bad for somebody!
I am so relaxed now. That was hypnotic.
Im glad 🥰
Same
Just hearing the word hypnotic gives me a hangover.
My sister and I are fans of these Beautiful moss gardens; maybe someday we will be able to make something similar to these.
Thanks so much for this. It was exactly what I needed. I’ve been dying to have a living wall and was wondering how to harvest and take care of moss. And your voice and music create a beautiful experience.
the moss in the New Zealand bush is insanely beautiful!! I am currently trying to grow some myself, fingers crossed.

May I suggest a mix of purified water and hydrogen peroxide to kill mold and enhance oxygen?
Rain water works better ☺️

What do trees need moss for?

Trees do not need any moss.
I have beautiful bright spongy moss growing between my slate patio pavers. I just absolutely love the look.

You'll need to heavily mist or spray very often if it's open air. You can also use a humidifier close by to help
Great video! If I have a live moss ball is it better to must it daily or make sure there is always a little bit of water in the dish?

How often do you need to water the moss? Also loved the video 🥰
I mist it well everyday or every other day. If its closer to the sun or in a dry area you may need to mist daily. And thank you 😊🙏🏼💕
@ Can you mist them with tap water?

what a beautiful forest, where is this?
im hooked now
Haha cool 😊💕

this is so cute

I notice that you did not put any drainage holes. Does moss not care if it's accidentally overwatered?
Do you not need drainage holes for moss? Any concerns about water sitting in the bottoms?
Yes you could add some if you want, when I water my moss I just intensely mist it and so far I haven’t had any problems 🙂

great video - do you have a filming crew?
Thank you and yeah I had someone help me film on some of the clips
my first start moss was on the sidewalk right outside my house. and some recycled container thats how i started.
is that acrylic paint that you bought in the art supplies store?
Can I use it for the moss pole in door plants?
No drainage needed if the moss is planted in the wood and soil?

Hehehe thanks
