2024 still watched, still admired, still respected, still adored. That says alot considering he's been gone almost as long as the man was alive. That's because the man is tge master.
He will always be remembered forever as one of the best, he never sold out, refused to compromise his integrity on being a real blues guitarist even though he could play along with anything. Singlehandedly resurged the genre into mainstream, so today you hear almost every player do his licks especially in the country genres
Absolutely. .....
Stevie Is The Only Guy I Know Of Who Even THINKS To Arrange The Royalties From One Of HIS Songs To Go To The FAMILY Of The Guy That Inspired His Song! Such A CLASS Act!
That's so true 🤗💕
SRV is nothing if not real. (Sober or not) His genuineness shines through.
This is a crazy video. He wouldn’t even try to play like his big brother, I believe out of respect. What humility.
He was definitely better though
@@basspro870 by a million miles in every direction. Which only serves to highlight how humble and respectful he was.
He Practically WORSHIPPED Jimmie!🎸
@@basspro870 Absolutely but he wouldn't have admitted it if his life depended on it. I admire Jimmie, but I've tried really hard to see his mojo and it's just not there for me. He's damn good but not great, IMO.
@@Slugg-O Perfectly said, Stevie worshipped the image that Jimmie had and as his younger brother of course he was his idol, but in the end, guitar virtuosity is not genetic, the biggest thing I hate to see is people writing off SRV's guitar skills for talent, when in reality they are a closer reflection of his dedication and passion.
Of all the interviews that I've seen of him, he's always humble. He shows respect to those before him that has touched his life. Through all the demons he battled he was always humble. Other than his great musical abilities, he kept to his humble roots. That's an extremely important lesson he has taught to all of us.
RIP SRV
Stevie was such a strong guitar player, he broke one of his strings playing a demo of a song on an interview 😂❤
Stevie's eyes, let's just say his entire face is beautiful and sends a message. He is a humble person, and is loved!💜💖
SOUL💞SOUL, STEVIE!💗😘
It sends a message he is hammered….wtf?
@@Antuan_the_Swan more like coked out
I miss you Stevie 😔
I'll second that emotion
He was very smart about music and the players.
because it was his whole life
Especially with blues. It has such a history,... I don't think it's something you can just walk into without having an awareness and appreciation for the history.
Watching him play and listening to his music.. you can see what an amazing talent he is! Watching an interview... you can see what a unique human being he truly was!!
For those of you who don’t know.
It is so incredibly hard to give an interview about history and influences and then just turn on the magic. Talking to an interviewer requires a part of the brain you don’t use when tucking into your guitar like Stevie did.
I can sense the difficulty. It’s like blocking a channel you have open to do one or the other. Stevie did it with grace and kindness.
One zone and one channel.
I love Stevie Ray Vaughn so much. Such a unbelievable musician and a incredible human. I am a addict of drugs and alcohol and I understand that world. It is so fucked up he got clean and passed away. Life is a trip and I am so happy SRV is apart of my life. One day I hope to clean up.
I hope you do too. I was in active addiction for over 30 years and I’ve been clean now for 6 years. If you truly want it you can do it but do it for yourself!! Bless you and sending you strength and love
God loves you no matter what brother.
Self love is key sending love to you ❤
He makes it all look so easy.
Stevie talks with his eyes...pure expression
Yes. One of his girlfriend's said: "When he talked to you, he looked at you with intensity, his eyes were intense." He was a cool cat.
@@Say_No-2_Animal-Abuse_ would have loved to have met him proper rock n roll gent
@@Say_No-2_Animal-Abuse_ ONE Of His Girlfriend's...?
@@maureendrozda9960 SURELY you can understand how someone could date more than one person within their lifetime.
@@UMAMIMAMU 🤔
Stevie was and is my all time favorite guitarist but man, this was probably the peak of his addiction issues. He was hammered here
yep.. a little strange acting, probably been up a couple days..from coke and alcohol. but it looks like he's on acid or something else? lol RIP Stevie. you know on a good note.. he's still helping people get sober even after death! He's truly special.
I think he's off his face ..slurred speech I can't understand some words .
He was not clean yet that year, but the talent is overwhelming. So glad that he cleaned up completely a few years later which took full medical help for months then became the best clean guitarist at his peak as we remember him.
I think that at the root of his genius was his honesty and humility. He called it like he saw it, and played it like he heard it. And we loved it! RIP SRV. 🎸💔
He was so talented and so dam beautiful that’s what shines so bright he was real and raw and it showed threw his music and when he talks he’s so real I couldn’t watch or see anything about him after he died it hurt to much knowing he wasn’t in the world rip beautiful Stevie you touched so many people with your heart and soul you are loved and missed ❤ he was so humble and that is so rare and beautiful and his love for his brother and others was so beautiful
I wish I could personally thank the woman interviewing him for asking the camera man to zoom in on his hand while playing. I could watch that for days on end.
2:38 when the light flickers off his watch when he hits the bass note. Pretty bad ass
Glad you caught that!
Stevie has such articulate and in depth answers that the interviewer totally ignores and doesn’t have responses. They just want exclusive shots of him playing material they can use
I'm glad he was fun and flirty and gracious when hammered. There's nothing worse than a pompous belligerent drunk superstar. A huge loss to humanity.
Fun, Flirty & Gracious Is Who Stevie Really Was! I'm Glad It Showed THRU The Drugs & Alcohol Till He Could Leave Them Behind!! BLESS HIM!🙏🎸
I like the way he pauses and articulates his answers very thoughtfully. I watched all four parts here with interest. I love his guitar playing and the interviewer is charming as well, her voice is very attractive.
I’m glad he found sobriety
And he spoke about it WHILE preforming! Can you imagine what would have happened if Hendrix did too?
So Was Stevie!! He Was Very Strong, Brave & Determined To Dig In & Do The Work Required! He Was A 12-Step Brother & I Miss Him Dearly!! BLESS YOU, STEVIE! SOUL💞SOUL!😘
I Try To Remember What Stevie Always Said About Blues... They're Meant To SOOTHE!🎶🤗 I Miss You, Stevie!!💞
Love and miss you forever. SRV 💙
He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Stand up man. Pure class. ❤
The greatest guitarist that ever lived period.
It is So nice to see all the beautiful words about Stephen 🎸
What a wonderful Human Being to Share The Universe With❤️
He will Live Forever
We will Always Love You Mr. Guitar 🎸 Hurricane 🌹🙏🏼😘❤️
What a blessed opportunity for the interviewer & others involved in this. I sure hoped they realized & appreciated it.
This man is a source of divine inspiration
Wow!! ......you are missed!! I heard you on Pandora mountain biking today 2022 and I stopped and listened to ya. R.I.P......
I wish I had known about him when I was younger. Would have seen him in concert. That was my dream after my brother introduced his music to me. God Bless their souls ❤️✌️
plays so clean and dripping with coolness and humility 😎
Feel so privileged to have witnessed SRV play twice, 86' in Illinois.
Glad it's back up. Wonder why it was taken down in the first place.

This is amazing! He was amazing!
I sure glad my Aunt Jenny brought me to Audubon Zoo in NOLA to see Stevie in concert 1986. I wish I could track down any video from that concert.
This is a Treasure.
Wow, this is a showcase of his talent and versatility
The slow playing around the eight minute mark. I really liked that. Slow blues makes me like the blues. For me, a little blues a long way. Stevie Ray is so respectful of those who went before him.
This is great
man! That guitar just bring a tear to my eye!
So
Young signature sound and respectful to those before. Historic. Stevie drippi ng honesty
Love luv luv this man!
Here's to Jimmy!
Fuck Yeah! Without Brother Jimmie - There Would Have Been No Stevie Ray! I Think Stevie Would Second That!
SRV..is so humble..this interview is nice to see him play up close in doing these solos..but Imo..the interviewer wasn't shy about asking him to do guitar solos..slightly irritating just seemed just a bit stepping out lines here..could have asked more in depth questions...!!!! SRV..May be gone but not forgotten 🙏!!!!
This man is the ETERNAL KING OF BLUES, period.
Very Cool !!!
Great interview 👏🏼🎬 🤍
Perfect T-Bone Walker style play! SRV ❤️
Good ol Rene Martinez in for the rescue, my Compradre.
Love this man. 💯 ....
I've seen this interview a thousand times. How have I never seen the unedited one? This is amazing!!!!!
Holy sh__t look at the size of his hands
I noticed his hands were huge and have always wondered why nobody ever says anything about them lol
He is buzzed but I love it
He was more than buzzed lol
He does all that, he's been interviewed man
🎸🙏
Country Blues Shredding
I know he's super hammered here but man what a sweet pleasant smile @ 14:14 :) he is missed dearly. Such a humble person so much fun to hear all his interviews. My fingers are itching to play guitar after seeing him namedrop all those blues players. Just the utterance of Texas blues and all those players evokes such a great feeling. true blazing guitar madness is all about the heart and soul.
Interview from the depths of a pirate ship
Hell to the yeah baby. Love Stevie Ray forever reminds me of my little brother wild as the wind but no malice
Look at those strings go up and down as he frets them, he loves high action!
The string couldn't take it no mo
Touche'!!
A 13 gauge high e string at that!
I don't know why the interviewer would continue this because he was so obviously ready to pass out
Every time I play with my 3 friends and I get to a good mix of drugs and alcohol, I'm not saying that substance abuse makes you a great guitar player, but I can say every time I'm upset by my whole life including while I play some of his pieces I don't just hear my guitar and in my band there are only 4 of us and I'm the only guitarist, but having said that it's as if I were not alone playing and he was there with me, one day I hope to clean myself up and become better, by expensive guitarist
❤️
Steve did his best here & I'm sure he would have rather been elsewhere but when your going to the top you got do these silly interviews which i think he's kind of like, what you want me to do it over again !!! No wonder he was drinking whiskey & a bit stoned . I was surprised one guy he was good friends with & grew up with was Rocky Athas one of Texas best players . They went to school together & played together during their younger days . Steve never mentions him as one of the great local Texas Blues players. Pretty sure he was glad when this interview was over. Also as he keeps mentioning Jessie I assume he's talking the the late Jesse Ed Davis but the gal has no clue & never asks him about him. We know he was not a Texan but the man was an icon even in his early days. A good interview just because she lets Stevie tell it like it is.
I curious how he got so good
5:38 SRV goes Super Sayan & the rings & watch glint because they know he’s lighting shi up 🔥
Love SRV but it's sad that he's so messed up here.
God bless Lighting!
What a big loss...
He appears to be stoned or drunk here!
Probably both, cause there is a story that he used to mix both cocane and whiskey together in the morning.
@@hoxtongood i think you nailed it there!

"And nothing of course near close of what Lightning Hopkins could do, I'm just a white boy playing Lightning Hopkins" - SRV
Stevie is so passionate about his influences and their stories, that he loves to talk about it. All that woman wants is get good interview bits😂 She’s getting a little frustrated at the end
Wish my fiddling around sounded like 8:00
7:21. I almost fell out of my chair. SRV all the way.
Me to .
Whats the ending song?
What song is playing at 7:51
Not a particular song. It’s a 1/4/5 in G. He’s tuned flat, a half step down. It’s juat blues licks in G
@@AP-ui7oi exactly right but his song texas flood is also a G blues, basically follows the same exact chord progression.
similar to his cover of you done lost your good thing now
What tuning is that
E flat
Thats that stank tuning
1/2 step down
My fav
Rip guitar string
7:47 wow he just like me fr
😁
Who is this Hawkins dude?
Lightning Hopkins I believe
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

This is right before he went into rehab. The 1/4 ounce of cocaine and quart of crown royal were definitely taking a tole. Sounds pretty drunk in this video
Listen to all of these fan boy normies”ong his eyes.” Aren’t you embarrassed to talk like that? Dude, he’s slurring his words, lol. He’s probably hammered.
1 in a million talent
He was too good for this place...GOD bless
Srv on drugs,high )))
