Samuel...why?
Alright, we still are running away from Mortimer because we hate his clown car music, and we get Samuel back! Unfortunatly he hates Aylanda and wants her to die, so he attempts to steal his House's members from us before letting the rest of the house kill everyone else. And here I thought this was character development, did the writers forget Chapter 9 happened?!
Oh right, new unit! This one only appears if you accept the Dawncaller all the way back in Chapter 2.
Dawn: Ah yes, she sure is a Lightbringer, I can see the hyper-inflated growths from here.
But in all seriousness, she's one of the best units in the game. She has Renewal to recover the damage she takes, she can use the Dawncaller, she has an exclusive Light tome that hits the wrong stat and-wait why do her animations look like a mix of Lyn and Micaiah?
For god's sake, she can even use the Starfall! The game's basically begging you to use her, it's frankly absurd.
And guess what-I'm not using her! Like, the Dawncaller is accesible to both Albert and Isabelle (and according to lore Natalie and Jesse should, but shh, shh-), and I'm not going to just use an overpowered unit that's given to me immediatly.
So, map. I uhh...don't like it? The game gives you 2 routes to split your party between, a Valkyrie infestation, and a healthy mix of Soldiers and Mage Knights. Now, appearantly harder difficulties try to solve this problem by adding a Ballista to cover the lower route, but...like, you can check enemy ranges to still bait Beatrice safely. I am not suprised her Aura tome is self-sabotage. Like, just send all your Anima users down, with all the other units (with Emilia if you use her) upwards to meet with Dawn.
Also, pretty coincidence, Samuel will not attack his kids, so guess who will Boss Abuse? Also appearantly there is a Speargarden Death Squad, but either they don't exist on Normal Mode, only trigger if you attacked Caroline in Chapter 9 with Jakka, or have their turn delayed to such a ridiculous extent that it's a non-issue.
For story...jesus, this game is not doing so well. Like, Alvaro is finally being noteworthy after his first appearance like 10 chapters ago, sure, but I'm pretty sure Samuel's being a moron and Beatrice is going along with it.
Like, dude, Theodor admitted to being at fault for the arm thingy, and you're about to kill the only truly innocent party because of that. You also admitted to (effectively) murdering Baud INFRONT OF LILY, which becomes the main reason that the 3 youngest members of House Rose defect from it, dooming your entire House in the process. You're a fucking moron, Liliette doesn't deserve you to appear on her wedding day, Christina deserves a better role model and Theo's generally just a victim here.
