the man, who goes by the name Stryder7x, is unfazed by that pussy shit. 59 minutes? That's too easy. We fear him. Simply looking at Stryder7x will crash Paper Mario. If you see him, run. fucking run.
Makes sense that Dizzy Dial will kill him. Dizzy Dial will set his status to something else (dizzy). If it fails, it will play the 'not affected' sequence, and set his status back to normal. The game sees 0 HP and decides that he is dead, winning the battle. Sleepy Sheep will probably also finish him. ^_^ Great video by the way. Love your videos.
As for the Zombie Jr Troopa glitch, I’m guessing status items like the Dizzy Dial kill him because they make the game check his status so that it realizes “Oops, this guy should be dead already!”

UPDATE I've been working on another Top 10 video with a friend of mine for the past month. I want to apologize for not uploading as often as I'd like to, but as some of you know, these videos take a lot of time to make. This next video is actually going to take even longer than normal because it's going to be a bit different from the "normal" Top 10. So, I'd like to give you guys a bit of information about it :) The next video will be titled "Top 10 Most Difficult Glitches in Paper Mario 64." All 10 glitches have not been featured anywhere on this channel before, although dedicated Paper Mario players may know a few of them already. Additionally, a brand new glitch was discovered in the making of this video, which just so happens to be one of the most difficult glitches in this game, and will debut in this Top 10. I uploaded screenshots of it to Twitter if you'd like a sneak peek: twitter.com/Stryder7x But why is this video so different from the others? Well, some of the glitches we're showcasing are so beyond difficult that they aren't humanly possible. That's where my friend Rainmaker comes in. By using slowdowns and savestates, he's playing the game frame-by-frame and recording the inputs with special computer programs. Then, he can play the input recording and record the gameplay at full speed. Recording videos like this takes a very long time, which is why it has been taking so long. But I promise it will be worth the wait. Because of this special method of recording, the video footage will also be lossless, meaning it's going to be the highest quality Paper Mario video on this channel. Thank you for your guy's patience, I look forward to showing off the next video!
+CrusadingChristian And he gained 4 HP when doing so! I guess, when you eat "attack" items, their power is used to determine how much HP you gain (and also, HP is probably before FP, so that's why the former stat is raised).
The Peach% Glitch was the cooler glitch with the color palettes being completely different. But #1 takes the cake by far. Jr. Troopa is also my favorite enemy in Paper Mario, and I wish he came back in the sequel. Great video. Keep up the good work.
This was one of my favorite games growing up, and I'm surprised I never thought about how it could have had glitches like any other game. It just held this perfect image in my head after all these years. These glitches are hilarious though. Interesting that those defeated enemies stored under the map aren't just...removed from the game? I don't know anything about game development so it's just funny to me that these battles can be accessed at all by physical contact with something that should be gone.
+Austin Richardson I totally understand what you mean - before meeting the Paper Mario speedrunning community, I just thought the game was really well-programmed, especially for its time. Turns out I was wrong, and I've made it my goal to learn more about the game and break it further :)
Seven years late, but.... From my limited programming experience, I've noticed it can often be harder to get rid of something than to change a property like position. I once designed a physics simulation involving comparing one double pendulum to another with a very slightly skewed initial position. However, sometimes I wanted to run the simulation with just one double pendulum, and I found the easiest way to do this, rather than removing the skewed pendulum, was to remove the skew value. This meant that it looked like there was only one double pendulum when, in fact, there were two, swinging in perfect sync. Getting rid of an object can be tricky considering all the properties and interactions you have to account for. Storing it somewhere out of the way can be much easier to program.

Here's what I think about Poisoned Peach: When Mario is poisoned, it still uses the same Mario sprite, but with a different set of colours for each colour ID or whatever. It is doing the same for Princess Peach, switching her colour to colour ID or whatever to what poisoned Mario uses.
+Darcy Atkinson Haha I do love that glitch! But I actually don't rate the glitches all by myself. I ask close friends to give me their "Top 10 Glitches" list, and then average all the results. This way, I can be sure that I don't bias glitches I found myself, and hopefully get a more accurate countdown.
Duplighost: I will now copy your partner, Mario! I will become all powerful! Goompa: *sends duplighost to the shadow realm* Goompa: Well, that was easy.
The Goompa Duplighost Glitch could also be called the "Duplighost Telefrag Glitch", because as seen in the video, it essentially causes Mario to telefrag whatever Duplighost tries to copy Goompa.
I have to say that opening the partner menu with goompa out and it is during parts of the game that is not where you are to have goompa where you are goompa is not ment to be and opening the partner menu with goompa out will crash the game however on the Japanese N64 version, opening the partner menu with goompa out for some reason it will not crash.
A glitch that is very easy to make is, in Chapter 5 when we are about to battle the Piranhas for second time Before go to the big tree, if we made the first strike with Kooper, the music is the normal battle instead of the Middle boss theme
The lava piranha glitch is my favorite. I always did that to grind exp. I remember being on winter break from school and just doing that all night. Good times...
13:30 so let me get this straight, this old man goomba is so intimidating, that duplighosts will telefrag themselves into oblivion at the sight of him?
Hey Stryder I found out something cool with refight goomba king! if you do the lakilester method to clip behind the bush and jump from a pretty precise area you can first strike the goomba king and as soon as you win the game puts you right back where you started allowing you to perform the same jump an infinite number of times! Hooray for speedrun tactics.

My favorite was the zombie jr. Troopa glitch, because you can fight him for as long as you want! Then you can end the fight anytime you want with the dizzy dial. It's basically an endless mode.
I actually managed to first strike the Putrid Piranhas in lava lava island. I did this by using Kooper and bombette's ability BEFORE you encounter them. Like the buzzar glitch, wrong music, AND I had the ability to flee. Funny thing is, I accidentally did this on my first run. It was weird. "Uh, is this supposed to happen?"
No I don't think so but I will let you know that if you attempt to use a egg bomb with the double dip badge and use it on the boss at the end of chapter 5 and for some reason it will crash the game and the strange thing is that if you use it on anything else it would not crash the game and it is strange.
So what happens if you Tattle Jr. Troopa in that Prologue battle? After all, he's one of two enemies (the other being the 1st Bowser fight) which cannot be Tattled through normal gameplay. I'm guessing Goombario will randomly recall a Tattle message from a different Jr. Troopa fight, but if so, then which one?
When there something strange in your neighborhood who you gonna call? goompa also I'm pretty sure that junior troopa just gets so dizzy he trips and takes half a heart of fall damage
+Stryder7x real quick, I bet the koopa super jump happens because of the vertical momentum not getting reset when warping to the ground from out of bounds while going back up from the OoB world. Makes sense?
Man, you have an INSANE amount of patience for attention to detail, coding and loopholes. Have you ever considered being a code-breaker for the FBI or something?
Livin4thelamb Paper Mario is a broken game. finding ways to screw with the programming of a game that is older than even some college students isn't all that much.
Not sure if you've done this before, but with all you knowledge on PM64, you should record a live stream of a speed run if this game on RUclips. I'd definitely watch. (: PM64 Is my favorite Paper Mario game hands down.
+Synith090 I wish he did to but he says these videos take super long to make. It makes sense to since no other youtuber I know does glitches this hard or knows a game this good
I just found out an interesting side effect of the Blue house skip. I did it when I only had Eldstar and from the blue House skip I skipped Mamar, Skolar, and Muskular. but I just beat chapter 5 and got Misstar. Interestingly, I had Mamar, Skolar, and Muskular after I beat Chapter 5! BTW, Lava Piranha was incredibly difficult without ultra rank partners and Sushies Tital Wave attack. I didn't get Watt and Bow, though
My favorite glitch is the Wavedash Crash(es Paper Mario). To perform it, you need to have two Wiis being controlled by the same Gamecube controller. To do this, you must create a Schrödinger's Gamecube Controller, which is an apparatus that plugs the Gamecube controller into Wii 1 if a radioactive atom is present or Wii 2 if it has decayed. Because of the Copenhagen interpretation, both Wiis will believe they have Schrödinger's Gamecube Controller plugged in to them, effectively allowing you to control two games with one controller. Next, you must have Paper Mario on Wii 1 and Super Smash Bros. Melee on Wii 2. Progress in Paper Mario until you can perform Log Skip and Blue House Skip. Do both and get to Chet Rippo's room. Once there, start a match in Melee (no items, Fox only, Final Destination) and defeat a Lv. 9 CPU. Perform a wavedash such that you finish moving on the last frame before the CPU hits the blast zone and talk to Chet Rippo on the very next frame. If performed correctly, Chet Rippo will say "holy shit" and crash Paper Mario. As long as you remain on the crash screen in Paper Mario, you will be able to play as Carbon from Book of Mario: Thousands of Doors in Melee. He is banned from official tournaments though, as the Schrödinger's Gamecube Controller is prone to crashing Real Life if someone observes the radioactive atom while the apparatus is being used.
Ehh, probably better to go on the peach specific video, but I have a theory for poisoned peach. Its been forever since I played the game, so I have no idea the actual implementation of the poison status, but I am going to make some assumptions. The sprite for a poisoned enemy would ideally be a specially designed one for that model, but they wouldn't always have one ready during development. An easy way to get a very different colored pic from a sprite would be to simply do some math with the number ID for each color used to just assign a generally appropriate one for the effect wanted. Don't know the color implementation of paper Mario, but it's easily doable with little processing power on the fly, without having to have memory saved for two sprites. This made the game have something to do when it had no special sprite to pull other than crash. Pretty good bandaid fix, and would take so little actual space for code, there would be little reason to remove it after all spites who could be poisoned, had their own poisoned sprite. Peach has no poisoned spite, so it just takes the ID of each color in her sprite, quik mafs, and you get LSD peach.

The Goompa Duplighost Glitch could also be called the "Duplighost Telefrag Glitch", because as seen in the video, it essentially causes Mario to telefrag whatever Duplighost tries to copy Goompa.
"It took me over an hour to get decent footage"
How much time would it take for a beginner to at least succeed on performing any of these glitches?
Hard to say, everyone learns at a different pace. It took me many, many hours to figure some of them out, but only a few minutes for others.
the goomba glitch took me 15 minutes to get down
+Stryder7x
Are you doing all this with TAS software?
PickyMcCritical no lol that wouldn’t be difficult- merely time consuming.
I did the refight goomba king 2nd try, but I still have only done log skip ONCE. So I really can't say
At this point on, I declare Goompa as the master of defeating Duplighosts!

No I don't think so but I will let you know that if you attempt to use a egg bomb with the double dip badge and use it on the boss at the end of chapter 5 and for some reason it will crash the game and the strange thing is that if you use it on anything else it would not crash the game and it is strange.
Why do I seem to love the way he says "Meet Ice Power, a poorly programmed badge found in Shy Guy's Toybox."
Troopa fight, but if so, then which one?
my guess is the one after chapter 1
Jr Troopa: can't be killed by bombs, flaming shells, or ludicrous amounts of fireballs, but dies by simply going to sleep.
"Well, it's getting late, dad says sleep is good for little koopas AAAAAAAND I'M DEAD"
I just wanna say kudos to the developers of these glitches 👏 👏 👏
Good god this is thorough.
Subscribed. Love your videos 😊
When there something strange in your neighborhood
who you gonna call?
goompa
also I'm pretty sure that junior troopa just gets so dizzy he trips and takes half a heart of fall damage
I wonder if there is a glitch where you can eat a compainion
shadowbrony33 mmmm
🍣
shadowbrony33 Can we make sushi out of Sushi?
That smells really fishy to me.
I wanna try the taste of bomb and ghost.
☁️☁️☁️Lakilester would taste pretty good☁️☁️☁️

This was strangely entertaining
I have a question: could the negative damage glitch be bigger than -1 like -10 or something?
3:45 Okay! Down left! Got it! I'll use this in a speed run in some godly way!
Awesome man, I am a fan of your videos. Are we going to have a top ten version glitches maybe?
+Oblivion Walker Maybe someday!
+Stryder7x real quick, I bet the koopa super jump happens because of the vertical momentum not getting reset when warping to the ground from out of bounds while going back up from the OoB world. Makes sense?
Stryder: *spends 50 hours making the video*
Everyone: I’m just gonna fall asleep to this video
Stryder: 😐
8:20 Amy was onto something with that Peach%...
Lava Piranha trick is rather clever, nice!
13:55 mario : teleports behind duplighost
also mario : nothing personal kid
I can't even begin to imagine how long it must have took to find all these glitches.
Man, you have an INSANE amount of patience for attention to detail, coding and loopholes. Have you ever considered being a code-breaker for the FBI or something?
Livin4thelamb Paper Mario is a broken game. finding ways to screw with the programming of a game that is older than even some college students isn't all that much.
lol
the negative damage would be extremely handy for this final bowser fight
I love your vids!:D Keep it up!
Im not surprised if Stryders house is wobbling and crackling around while some parts of the house teleport around screaming some ERROR sounds.
the #2 glitch, oh god, Mario just telefrag'd the duplighosts D:
I have seen so many vids from you, but never played the game before lol... still quite interestnig :P
"... if you get high enough ..." everything is possible !
Zombie Jr. Troopa is pretty much how Jr. Troopa views himself: Unkillable.
Not sure if you've done this before, but with all you knowledge on PM64, you should record a live stream of a speed run if this game on RUclips. I'd definitely watch. (: PM64 Is my favorite Paper Mario game hands down.
Waited for your next video. Wish you upload more often
+Synith090 I wish he did to but he says these videos take super long to make. It makes sense to since no other youtuber I know does glitches this hard or knows a game this good
+Ashton Haynes I said wish. I know it wouldn't be possible.
+Synith090 he never uploads because he's always talking to me c;
idk what I like more, his videos or his silky smooth voice
I just found out an interesting side effect of the Blue house skip. I did it when I only had Eldstar and from the blue House skip I skipped Mamar, Skolar, and Muskular. but I just beat chapter 5 and got Misstar. Interestingly, I had Mamar, Skolar, and Muskular after I beat Chapter 5! BTW, Lava Piranha was incredibly difficult without ultra rank partners and Sushies Tital Wave attack. I didn't get Watt and Bow, though
Great video :)
+Corey Cooper (MetroidFREAK21) Appreciate it!
Actual speech- top ten glitches
RUclips auto Subtitles- top ten glutens
