Having been on 25 cruises on four different cruise lines, it's an individual decision. I think if you have young kids and you're looking for a mega ship like those on royal Caribbean with all the bells and whistles and all the different activities for kids it may make it something you wanna do. With all the nickel and diamond cruise lines are doing, your health hostage and it's going to be a very expensive vacation. It's like being stuck in a remote resort where you have to buy everything on board the ship.

@@Retiredtraveler1961 I have found cruise lines have been getting better at not charging as much for extras. But you definitely need to plan for some extras. We did a mega ship last year and had a blast. But have done smaller ships as well and we had a great time with our son.

@@DadGuide to each their own....I don't like the lines & crowds on mega ships. Princess cruises now charges for room service, anywhere dining, & eating at many once free venues. My last cruise on Princess (& it will likely be my last despite 110 sea days) we had to wonder around for 15 minutes to find a place to eat in the Buffett.
