I really relate to this video x) I have read 892 books since 2016 and my TBR is MASSIVE aswell, probably like 250-300 books on there that I havent read. Clearly I really need to read more from my TBR and stop buying as many new books ^^'

I've got a little over 400 physical books on my TBR. I couldn't even venture to guess how many e-books I have. I probably average reading 50 books a year. So I have PLENTY to keep me busy! Will I stop buying books? Probably not, lol. Those library book sales are too good! Which is where 99% of my books come from. So at least it's not expensive???
@@mariadamore1963 library books sales sounds amazing! And nothing wrong with a big TBR if it makes you happy. It’s nice knowing you have books when you want something to read. I have just been reading progressively less physical books bug still buying lots. If you watch the other videos in the series you’ll see I still buy some but balance them with reading
I reached zero TBR in jun 2022 and am on my way towards another one. I do have a video with tips if you're interested.
And an extra tip at this point. If you have a huge urge to buy something... Buy a novella or manga or comic book 😅

Subscribed! I love these challenges. I had a similar challenge on my channel but quit, but I’m still working on getting my tbr down to only fit on a rolling cart. I no longer have an active tbr challenge but I’m still making content on curating my shelf, doing unhaul videos, and the like, so if you want to follow me you can but I’m not fishing for subscribers. But I also am always looking for fellow booktubers with this mindset because it’s definitely getting harder and harder to find this kind of content.

I love making new online friends with similar mindsets, it's definitely not the dominant view on booktube but have felt so much better and less stressed and overwhelmed since I started the challenge this year. Was a bit of a journey.
@@BinxThinx I wish you the best of luck! It really does feel good to get that number down. I’m going to be making a video soon on the number of unread books I currently own. I have them separated into two separate tbrs, but my main tbr is under 100 now. But then I have that over 200 historical romances which is the genre I separated as its own thing lol

@@BinxThinx Romance is my favorite but I got very into collecting vintage covers and stepbacks last year so acquired a lot! Haha I feel like I read mostly audiobooks lately so I don’t physically own every book I read. The historical romance are so cheap and easy to collect, and a lot fit in a small space because of their size. But I’m trying to read through the ones I have now and being more selective with what I’m buying lol

Yeah I had the same thing happen with audiobooks (and ebooks) 😂 actively trying to read books I own physically in those formats, I think my brain was like “oh you already own those, you can get to them whenever” so didn’t prioritise them as much as I ought to have done. Love that we both are being more mindful readers 🧘🏼♀️🥰
