Basically on this video she explained that she joined xfactor to prove that this industry is not just for gorgeous people and belters. She was also a belter before until she got her throat damaged during her 3rd year in highscool so she tried to find a music that will suit her. She said she doesn't even know what genre she is singing but she wanted the people to remember her performances based on her style. This performance was late 2000s i guess.

All the judges are well respected singers in the Philippines, from different generations and genres. Essentially, they each asked if they could either guest in her concert, be a back-up singer, or be the director...in other words, they all acknowledged her talent and x-factor and declared that they knew she'd be a huge singer, and possibly even surpass what they achieved.

Pilita Corrales, one of the judges said, if she can be one of KZ's backup singers. While Charice said, she wants to be Kz's guest singer in her coming concert, and the male judge singer, said, "Can I be your front act singer". The judges were showing their admiration and wants to be her mentor. In the end, Kz chose Charice as her mentor.

more KZ pleaseeeeeee. this was the first time i saw her audition, the rap she did was the same as her rolling in the deep one? The lyrics were the same, at least from what I remember.
The judge in the white shirt is Gary Valenciano. You'll see he was also a judge when the TNT Boys were on Your Face Sounds Familiar (see "Bang Bang"), and when Katrina Velarde was a contestant on The X-Factor Philippines. He became Katrina's mentor, and she toured as one of his backup singers. So, he is a well respected, established figure in the Philippines, based on his own career. I don't know if your aware but KZ had polyps removed from her vocal cords and lost the ability to hit the really high notes. Though it gave her doubts she never gave up on her dream of becoming a singer. She found inspiration in artist like Jessie J gathered the courage to let her style and artistic talents come first!!! It just proves that you don't have to have 5 or more octaves to become a star!!!! It is doing the very best you can with what you have!!!! That is what true artistry is all about!!!! It isn't really a video to react to but you should watch the short video, KZ meets Jessie J, Singer 2018, where she tells the story in her own words!!!! It is touching!!!!!

Gary Valenciano's cover of Spain is one of the most impressive vocals I've ever heard. Just beware of any video of it less than 8 minutes long. There are some shortened versions on RUclips that just butchered the performance. There are also some extremely low res versions but hopefully you'll catch that from the thumbnail.
